The Reason Why The Cool Beauty Who Repeatedly Ignores Messages Replies Only To Me. ~The Lonely Beauty Wants To Know The Lonely Me〜 - Chapter 11
Episode 11: Under the Umbrella, Unconscious Love
The sound of raindrops bouncing off the umbrella echoed softly.
Since entering the same umbrella, Saeki had become silent, leaving no room for conversation between us.
Under the small foldable umbrella, we leaned close to each other, our shoulders barely touching.
It felt like a scene from a romance novel, but with Yukine Saeki as the other party, there was no room for excitement.
I couldn’t tell what Saeki was thinking, and anxiety outweighed any fluttering feelings.
As the traffic light turned red, we stopped walking.
“Okami-kun, I’ve been curious about something.”
“What is it?”
“That’s… your shoulder.”
Saeki pointed at my right shoulder, which was exposed from under the umbrella.
I didn’t want to show off or anything, but since I am also a guy, and was trying to keep Saeki from getting wet by tilting the umbrella towards her, my right shoulder ended up getting wet.
I wondered why Saeki wasn’t talking much… Was she worried about something like this?
“Never mind that. It’s more troublesome if your clothes get wet than mine.”
“Even though you’re a lone wolf, you have some kindness, huh?”
“Are you complimenting me?”
“N-Not really.”
Saeki teased me and chuckled.
Her constantly condescending attitude really gets on my nerves…
When Saeki says, “I’m interested in you” it probably means she sees me as nothing more than a toy.
Why does she find teasing someone like me enjoyable… I have no idea…
“By the way, Saeki, which middle school did you go to? If your house is near the station, it wouldn’t be strange if we went to the same middle school.”
“I…came to Japan starting from high school.”
“Eh, you came to Japan starting from high school… Does that mean… you’re a returnee?”
“Yes… My parents are diplomats, so I’ve lived abroad for a long time.”
“Oh, I see… Your parents are diplomats. So, Saeki, are you fluent in English or something?”
“No, not at all. I wasn’t interested in foreign languages, so I can only speak at a conversational level.”
“You weren’t even interested in that… Were you okay overseas?”
“I was fine. My parents spoke Japanese at home, and I attended a school with only Japanese students, so I lived a life almost entirely like in Japan.”
It’s like those university students who go abroad with zero language skills and come back the same way…
“Y-You’re quite different, aren’t you?”
“Is that a compliment?”
“Figure it out yourself.”
Having a personality where you don’t do things you’re not interested in becomes troublesome at this point.
Not being interested in something and not studying anything but Japanese even though she was abroad… I’m sure her parents struggled with that.
“Well, my sister can speak English, so I always had her translate for me if anything happened.”
“Your sister must have had it tough.”
“It’s fine. I only talked to my family anyway, so it didn’t matter.”
Not talking to anyone other than family… So, is talking to someone like me here a pretty rare occurrence?
“Okami-kun, this is my house.”
“Huh?”
Saeki pointed at the high-rise apartment in front of us.
Looking at the entrance through the glass, with its chic interior, it seemed like a big apartment where wealthy people would live.
“Sister.”
As we stood in front of the apartment, a girl with an umbrella was in front of us, looking exactly like Saeki but with a quieter impression, spoke to us.
…Is this the sister Saeki mentioned earlier?
She seems quieter than Saeki.
“Okami-kun. This is my twin sister, Mishiro.”
“T-Twin…? She’s your twin sister? So, the same age…”
“Yes, even though we went to different high schools.”
“……Hi.”
Since Saeki’s sister bowed her head, I nodded slightly in return.
Saeki’s sister has a similar vibe to Saeki, but her gaze is sharper than Saeki’s.
Also, her hair is different from Saeki’s, shorter and not touching her shoulders, and by the way, her chest is… bigger than Saeki’s.
Did she notice my gaze? Saeki’s sister seemed a little embarrassed and approached me with a hint of shyness.
Huh. Unlike the strict Saeki, is her personality quite soft?
And then, she leaned close to my ear…
“…Don’t look at me with strange eyes… I’ll smack you.”
And with that, she entered the entrance.
I see… I understand now that she’s even scarier than Saeki.
I thought she’d be cool and reserved like Saeki, but her way of speaking was completely that of a delinquent. (Let’s call her the Delinquent Whisperer)
“Okami-kun… Thanks for the umbrella. See you next week.”
“Ah, yeah.”
Saeki followed her sister into the apartment entrance.
Both Saeki and this sister seem dangerous.

After parting ways with Ookami-kun, Mishiro and I took the elevator to our apartment.
“Sister, you deliberately forgot the umbrella.”
“That’s not true. I just forgot.”
“…It’s rare for you to show interest in boys, Sister. Especially someone with such creepy eyes.”
“……”
I don’t even understand the reason for that.
From the empathy I felt towards him before, I now feel like it’s become something else entirely.
Just being under the same umbrella… makes my whole body feel warm…
Why… am I… like this…?
