Afternoon Amusement Park Date.
After lunch, we decided to split up. Mizuki and I discussed where to go and ended up choosing the hall of mirrors maze first.
“Look, there are so many of me!” Mizuki exclaimed.
“Wow. I don’t feel like I can move forward,” I replied.
“Shall we hold hands so we don’t bump into the mirrors?” she suggested.
“Good idea. As your boyfriend, I’ll lead the way,” I said, wanting to show off a bit for Mizuki despite it feeling a bit out of character for me. She smiled and took my hand.
“I’m counting on you.”
Ten minutes later, we were still wandering in the maze.
“Uh, I can’t find the exit…” I admitted.
“Where could it be? It feels like we’re going in circles,” Mizuki said.
“I started feeling that way a while ago too,” I confessed.
As we stood there, a pair of siblings came by, and Mizuki and I exchanged a glance, silently deciding to follow them.
About fifteen minutes after we started, we finally exited the maze, thanks to those kids. We were grateful to them in our hearts.
“Trying to be cool and ending up like this is so embarrassing,” I said.
“I feel a bit embarrassed too,” Mizuki admitted.
“So, where to next?” I asked.
“Hmm, how about the haunted house?”
Wait, Mizuki suggesting the haunted house herself? Was Kana wrong about Mizuki being scared of haunted houses?
“Are you sure you’re okay with that?” I asked.
“I want to face itt, so I want to try. And if you’re with me, I might be less scared.”
Ah, that explains Kana’s mysterious smile earlier.
“Are you sure you’re not pushing yourself?” I asked.
“No, I’m not pushing myself,” Mizuki replied. She didn’t seem to be straining herself, so we decided to go to the haunted house.
“Ao-kun, make sure you don’t let go of my hand,” she said.
“I won’t let go, so make sure you stay close to me,” I reassured her.
“Got it. I won’t leave your side,” she replied, and then, either intentionally or not, she pressed her chest against my arm.
Whoa! Is this an event happening even before we enter the haunted house?
“M-Mizuki-san… Your chest is touching me,” I stammered.
“S-Sorry,” she apologized, quickly putting some distance between us.
As we moved forward in line, Mizuki gripped my hand tighter as we approached the entrance.
(Is she really not pushing herself?)
“Mizuki, we can still turn back if you want,” I offered.
“It’s okay. I’m not pushing myself, and I can do this,” she insisted.
“You know, it’s easy to tell when you’re pushing yourself. Are you really okay?” I asked, concerned.
“…I’m not okay. But I want to conquer my fear, so let’s go!” she said determinedly.
“Alright. If you’re sure, let’s do it,” I said, squeezing her hand gently.

“Ao-kun, I wasn’t scared!”
She said, puffing out her chest with pride, despite having clung to my back with her eyes tightly shut throughout the haunted house.
“R-right…” I responded.
“It’s almost time to meet up with Kana and the others. How about we ride that one last?” Mizuki suggested, pointing at the Ferris wheel. It seemed like the perfect way to end the day, so I nodded in agreement.
We boarded the Ferris wheel and, instead of sitting across from each other, we sat side by side.
“Thrill rides and moving attractions are fun, but enjoying the scenery like this is nice too,” Mizuki said.
“Yeah, it really is,” I agreed. The last time I had been to an amusement park was with my family years ago. It felt great to spend the day here with friends and my precious girlfriend.
Well, I hoped my dad wouldn’t come home early and ask, “Where have you been?” because that would ruin the mood.
“Ao-kun,” Mizuki said, turning to me and taking my hand.
“Did you have fun today?” she asked.
“Of course, I had a great time. How about you, Mizuki?” I replied.
“I had a lot of fun too,” she said with a smile.
“I hope we can come here again,” I said.
“Yes… Next time, it would be nice if it were just the two of us,” she added softly.
As we reached the highest point on the Ferris wheel, I turned to tell Mizuki, but she suddenly pressed her lips against mine. The kiss lasted for about three seconds, and I froze in surprise when she pulled away.
“The other day, you asked me to kiss you next time,” she said.
“…Catching me off guard like that is unfair,” I replied.
“Did your heart race?” she asked with a teasing smile.
“Of course it did…” I admitted. There’s no way I wouldn’t feel my heart race after an unexpected kiss. Seeing Mizuki’s confident smile made me wonder if I was the only one getting so flustered.
After we got off the Ferris wheel, we met up with Kana and Kouta and we took the train home.
“Did Mi-chan fall asleep?” Kana asked from my right. Mizuki was leaning against my left shoulder, sound asleep.
“Yeah, it looks like she did. We walked around all day, so she must be tired. And Kouta fell asleep too?” I asked.
“Yeah, I guess he’s worn out too,” Kana replied.
“If you want to sleep too, go ahead. I’ll make sure you won’t get left behind,” I teased.
“That’s so mean! In that case, I’ll stay awake,” Kana retorted.
“I’m just kidding,” I said with a smile.
In the end、everyone else ended up falling asleep, so when we arrived at the station, it was quite a task waking them all up. I ended up being the one responsible for waking everyone.
“Yaaahhh~ I slept so well,” Kana stretched and cuddled up to Kouta, who was still half-asleep.
“Alright, Mizuki and I will head this way then,” I said.
“Yeah, bye-bye, Ao and Mi-chan,” Kana waved.
“Uhm, bye-bye…” Mizuki waved back, blushing slightly, and we harmonized our farewells.
“What was that? So cute!!”
“Um, what’s cute?”
“Everything! Well, see you later!”
After parting ways with Kana and Kouta, Mizuki and I walked together part way home.
“Ao-kun, I’m going to stop by the supermarket on the way back.”
“Sure, I’ll come too. I need to pick up a few things.”
“Then shall we go together?
