- Chap 43 - In Search of the Culprit: The Plan to Save Adriel part 1
In the depths of the underworld, there were auction houses that offered a range of goods and services, including the sale of illegal items and even people. These establishments were operated by a powerful and wealthy group of individuals who had their own set of rules, and anyone who dared to cross them would face severe consequences.
The auction process was not straightforward, as the items for sale had to undergo thorough inspection and verification to ensure their authenticity and value. Only then would they be put up for bidding, with interested buyers competing against each other until a final price was reached.
The auction houses were lavish and grandiose, with ornate decorations and luxurious furnishings, and the clientele ranged from high-ranking officials and wealthy businessmen to notorious criminals and underworld figures.
As Seda and Ayano made their way towards one of the most prestigious auction houses, they encountered a series of strict security measures. The entrance was guarded by heavily armed individuals, and every person who wished to enter was subjected to a thorough search to ensure they were not carrying any dangerous weapons or prohibited items.
Despite the intimidating security measures, Seda and Ayano easily passed through. As the daughters of Anastasia, the queen of the underworld, their reputation preceded them, and the guards knew better than to try and stop them.
Once inside, Seda and Ayano attracted curious glances from other patrons. The two sisters were feared and respected in the underworld, having inherited their mother’s reputation as a powerful and ruthless leader. They made their way towards the auction area, with Seda feeling a sense of unease as they walked.
The auction houses were known for their shady dealings, and Seda couldn’t help but wonder what kind of illegal items were being sold there that day. Nevertheless, she pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand.
Soon enough, they arrived at the grandiose auction hall, where the auctioneer was already on stage, announcing the first item up for bid. Seda and Ayano took their seats, ready to engage in the bidding process.
“Hey, sis, what’s our move once we catch the ones responsible for my boyfriend’s abduction and the sale of Adriel’s rights?” Ayano asked with a hint of concern in her voice.
Even though they were the daughters of the powerful underworld queen, they couldn’t afford to create a scene at an auction house.
“Don’t sweat it, Ayano. I’ve got it all figured out,” Seda replied, a mischievous grin forming on her lips.
Seda leaned in closer to Ayano and whispered, “We’re going to have to play their game to catch them. We’ll bid on something big, something that’s sure to attract the attention of the underworld’s elite. Once we’ve got their attention, we’ll wait for the right moment to strike.”
Ayano looked at her sister, impressed by her cunning plan. “What do you have in mind?” she asked, intrigued.
Seda grinned. “I’ve heard rumors of a rare and powerful weapon being auctioned off today. It’s sure to fetch a high price and draw in some of the most influential figures in the underworld. If we win the bid, we’ll use it as leverage to get the information we need. And if the culprit is there, we’ll be able to spot them among the crowd.”
Ayano nodded, impressed by Seda’s strategy. “That’s brilliant, sis. But how will we know who to trust once we have the information?”
Seda’s grin widened. “We won’t have to trust anyone. I have a plan to verify the information ourselves, without putting ourselves in danger.”
Ayano raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “And how do you plan on doing that?” she asked, curious.
Seda leaned in closer and whispered her plan to Ayano. “We’ll plant a fake lead, something that the culprit will take the bait for. Then we’ll track them down ourselves and confront them directly.”
Ayano nodded, impressed by Seda’s cleverness. “You’re always one step ahead, sis. Let’s do this.”
The audience quieted down as the newscaster’s voice boomed through the grandiose auction hall. His words reverberated off the walls, filling every corner of the room with a sense of anticipation and excitement.
“Today’s auction promises to be a spectacular event, with rare and exotic items from all corners of the world on display. We have everything from ancient artifacts to rare gemstones, and everything in between. But there is one item that stands out above all the rest, a weapon so powerful that it could turn the tide of any battle.”
The crowd murmured in excitement, wondering what the weapon could be.
“This weapon has a storied past, with legends and myths surrounding its origins. Some say it was crafted by the gods themselves, imbued with the power of lightning and thunder. Others say it was wielded by ancient warriors in battles that decided the fate of entire civilizations.”
The newscaster paused for effect, letting the tension in the room build.
“And today, ladies and gentlemen, this weapon could be yours. But make no mistake, the bidding will be fierce, with the most powerful and influential figures in the underworld vying for the chance to possess this legendary weapon. So I urge you all to bid wisely, and may the best bidder win.”
