- The Puppet Protagonist: Adriel's Life is Controlled by Everyone Around Him
- Chap 42 - Burning Fury
Seda’s eyes widened as she heard Adriel’s name, her heart racing with concern. The mere thought of him being in danger made her blood boil. She clenched her fists tightly, trying to contain her rage as she demanded answers.
“What do you mean Adriel was for sale in the underworld?” she hissed, her voice dripping with anger. “Who would even think of doing such a thing? Did they kidnap him? Is he in danger?”
Her grip on the man’s collar tightened as she spoke, her nails digging into his skin. She could feel the fear emanating from him, but it only fueled her anger. “Tell me,” she growled, “who’s behind this? Who took Adriel?”
The man stuttered, his voice trembling. He could sense the danger in Seda’s tone, and it terrified him. “I don’t know,” he stammered. “I swear I don’t know anything.”
Seda’s eyes narrowed as she glared at him. She knew he was lying, but she didn’t have time to waste on him. She released her grip on his collar and took a step back, her mind racing with thoughts of Adriel’s safety.
“Listen to me carefully,” she said, her voice low and threatening. “If anything happens to Adriel, I will find you, and I will make sure you regret ever setting foot in this city.”
The man’s fear was palpable as he cowered before her. “I heard rumors,” he stammered, “that there are people who buy the right to own others. Maybe Adriel’s right was being sold.”
There are people who have money, power, and influence. They buy the rights to own people and do whatever they want with them.
Seda’s heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. Adriel was being treated as a commodity, a mere object to be sold and owned by others. The thought of it made her sick to her stomach.
She turned to leave, her mind racing with thoughts of how to find Adriel and bring him back safely. The man called out to her, his voice shaking. “Please don’t hurt me,” he begged. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
As Seda’s anger continued to boil, her eyes began to change. The once deep blue irises became clouded with a fiery red hue, the color spreading like wildfire throughout her eyes. The veins around her eyes bulged, making the red even more prominent. It was a terrifying sight, one that left the man trembling with fear.
Her eyes seemed to glow with an otherworldly power, a power fueled by her love for Adriel and her desire to protect him. The intensity of her gaze was so fierce that it felt like it could burn through steel. She was in full-blown rage mode, and anyone who stood in her way would feel her wrath.
Ayano quickly took action, grabbing her sister’s arms and holding them tightly. Seda’s muscles were tense, and her strength was immense as she struggled against Ayano’s grip. Her eyes still burned with a fierce red glow, and her breathing was heavy as she fought to break free.
But Ayano was determined to bring her sister back to her senses. “Calm down, sister,” she said firmly, her voice stern but gentle. “Let’s not make a scene here. We need to find out who’s behind this, but we can’t do that if we’re causing a commotion.”
Seda’s struggles began to subside as Ayano spoke. Her sister’s words seemed to reach her through the haze of anger, and she slowly started to come back to reality. As Ayano continued to hold onto her, Seda’s breathing slowed, and the redness in her eyes began to fade.
“Seda, come on,” Ayano called out, her voice soothing. And with that, Seda’s strength finally gave out, and she allowed herself to be led away, her mind still reeling from the anger that had consumed her just moments before.
Seda’s blood was boiling with anger, her eyes turning a fiery shade of red. She had completely lost her reason and was ready to tear apart anyone who dared to harm Adriel. But as Ayano held onto her arms, she slowly began to come back to her senses.
“Calm down, sister,” Ayano spoke in a soothing voice. “Let’s not make a scene here.” We need to find out who’s behind this and save Adriel.”
Seda took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She felt a little embarrassed for losing control like that, but her concern for Adriel still burned fiercely inside of her.
Seda nodded in agreement, her expression serious. She was usually the more level-headed of the two, but now it seemed like Ayano was the one being rational while Seda was lost in her feelings. It was a strange shift, but Ayano knew that they needed to work together to save Adriel.
Seda took a deep breath and closed her eyes, feeling the anger slowly fade away from her body. Her eyes started to go back to their usual black color as her aura calmed down again. She opened her eyes and turned to face the man, her expression cold and determined.
“So tell me what you know,” she demanded.
Afraid to see Seda back in a rage, the man quickly spilled everything he knew. Adriel was being sold as a kind of early access, in the beginning, they would buy the right to have him, then the seller himself would find a way to kidnap him. Due to Adriel’s charm power that could manipulate masses of people, Adriel was a rare and valuable piece.
Adriel’s power was unlike anything he had ever seen before. With just a few words, he could make an entire crowd of people do his bidding. It was a power that could be both terrifying and awe-inspiring.
“Next time, say it quick,” Ayano said, her acidic comment breaking Seda’s thoughts. Ayano had been mocking Adriel’s power just moments ago, but now she seemed to have a newfound respect for him.
