- The Puppet Protagonist: Adriel's Life is Controlled by Everyone Around Him
- Chap 39 - Seda's Family: Yandere Mother
Seda stood in front of her mother’s mansion, Anastasia Matsuda. She had no choice but to ask for help from her mother, who controlled the underworld with an iron fist. Anastasia was the most powerful being on the planet, and her word was law. Seda needed her mother’s help to keep journalists from swarming her city and making things worse.
As she touched the gates, Seda couldn’t help but feel desperate. The gate opened, revealing the mansion’s immense size, standing at least 100 meters tall. Seda ran a kilometer to reach the door, her speed allowing her to arrive in seconds.
“Well, well, well. Look who’s come crawling back,” Ayano’s voice cut through the air. Out of all of Seda’s 20 sisters, Ayano was the most similar to Anastasia. From her appearance, black hair with red eyes, to her controlling personality, Ayano was the spitting image of their mother.
Seda gritted her teeth. She didn’t need her sister’s snarky comments right now. “I’m in a bad situation, Ayano. I need mother’s help,” Seda said, trying to remain calm.
Ayano smirked. “Oh, I know, dear sister. Still chasing after your cough, cough, stud boyfriend, I see.” Ayano’s comment hit a nerve, and Seda could feel her anger boiling over. But she knew better than to lash out at her sister.
“No, Ayano. I’m not chasing him anymore. We’re already dating,” Seda said, her tone laced with venom.
Seda’s normally kind personality was overshadowed by her deep-seated sibling rivalry with Ayano.
“And what about you, Ayano?” Seda shot back, her eyes flashing with anger. “Is your boyfriend still running away from you every time you go on one of your infamous rampages? Is that why you’re here, begging Mother for help yet again? How many times has he run away from you now?”
It was no secret in the Matsuda family that Ayano’s boyfriend had a tendency to disappear whenever she got too aggressive or annoying. He would usually hide out for a month until Ayano calmed down.
“You…!” Ayano sputtered, at a loss for words.
Seda smirked, relishing in her victory.
“Enough!” Anastasia’s voice boomed from the house. “You two haven’t seen each other in years, and I won’t have you fighting under my roof.”
Feeling chastised, both sisters hung their heads and apologized.
“Now, what brings you both here?” Anastasia asked, looking between her daughters.
Seda explained that she needed help shutting down the media’s interference in her city, while Ayano begged for her mother’s assistance in finding her missing boyfriend.
Anastasia sighed, but couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pride at her daughters’ determination and tenacity.
“Alright, come inside. Your father misses you both,” she said, ushering them into the house.

Seda and Ayano reluctantly followed their mother to the meeting room, eyeing each other with thinly veiled contempt.
The room was predictably grandiose, filled with ostentatious artwork and a large table with two chairs at the head. Anastasia and Paul occupied the seats, while the sisters settled into chairs at the corner of the table.
Anastasia cut straight to the point, “You can begin.”
Ayano seized the opportunity to whine about her runaway boyfriend, and Anastasia obligingly promised to locate him.
Seda rolled her eyes at Ayano’s lack of intelligence, but held her tongue as she explained her own problem. “My cough cough friends have caused quite a stir in the city with their advanced game. It’s getting harder and harder to keep Adriel’s powers a secret, and I need your help to shut them up.”
Anastasia’s anger was palpable. “You still haven’t gotten rid of them?”
Ayano couldn’t resist taking a jab at her sister, “I’ve told her, Mom. But you know how Seda is.”
Paul stepped in to calm the situation, “Calm down, dear.”
Seda’s resemblance to her father extended beyond just her appearance, as she pleaded with her mother, “Please help me, Mom.”
Anastasia’s love for Paul was obvious as she caved, “Okay, I’ll help you this time.”
While Ayano inherited many traits from their mother Anastasia, including her looks and personality, Seda was quite different. She took after their father Paul, inheriting his kind personality, a trait that was shared only by their younger sister Mira, who also had blonde hair.
Ayano couldn’t help but roll her eyes as she watched her father play favorites with Seda once again. “Of course he’s going to take Seda’s side,” she muttered under her breath. “It’s not like she needs any more coddling.”
When Paul tried to justify his actions, Ayano felt her frustration boiling over. “Ugh, give me a break,” she said, throwing her hands up in exasperation.
But before she could argue any further, Anastasia cut in with a punishment for Seda,”Seda you’re going to help your sister find her boyfriend, that’s a punishment for being so rebellious.”
Ayano couldn’t help but smirk at the sight of her sister’s anger. “Serves you right,” she thought to herself.
With a smug grin, Ayano agreed to the punishment, satisfied that she had finally gotten what she wanted.
