- The Puppet Protagonist: Adriel's Life is Controlled by Everyone Around Him
- Chap 38 - The Perfect Plan was Sabotaged
Emma and Elora finally found Adriel after hours of searching with Adrienl. Fuming with anger, they ended the game and shut off Adriel’s VR headset, then stepped away from him to hide their intense emotions.
“Damn it! That Elizabeth must be behind this,” Emma exclaimed, barely managing to contain her rage. She knew that if she hadn’t distanced herself from Adriel, her true, ugly nature would have surfaced in front of him.
Emma and Elora stormed into the training room, their faces twisted with anger and frustration. It was the perfect place for them to let off some steam, with its vast collection of weapons and ample space to train and vent their emotions.
“That damn witch, how dare she!” Elora screamed, punching the air.
Emma’s mind was racing as she tried to piece together what had happened. They had spent hours creating a virtual world to escape from reality and all its distractions, but their plans were ruined by an unexpected interference.
“How did that snake get access to the source code?” Emma muttered, clenching her fists.
“We got a PC from Seda to program our game!” Elora exclaimed, as if trying to find an explanation for what had happened.
At that moment, Seda, entered the training room. Emma’s eyes narrowed as she glared at her.
“She hacked you,” Seda said, her voice calm and collected.
Seda, a formidable woman, had her own obsession with Adriel, much like Elizabeth. Emma, with her deep love for Adriel, desperately wanted to convince Seda to understand their motives.
“How do you know that?” Emma asked, hoping to learn more about Seda’s obsession.
Without a word, Seda produced a large folder filled with evidence, proving her knowledge of Adriel’s existence.
“A billion dollars,” Seda said, looking at Emma with disdain. “That’s what you guys spent on this game. Even though Elizabeth sabotaged you, that doesn’t change the fact that you put Adriel’s safety at risk.”
Emma tried to appeal to Seda’s softer side. “You have to understand us.”
Seda didn’t fall for Emma’s tricks. “I know what your goal is, but you’ve created a game of this magnitude in the city. It’s too risky, and I won’t let you put Adriel in danger.”
Emma’s heart sank. She didn’t know what to do. Then, Emma and Elora, who had been watching from the sidelines, began to appeal more strongly to Seda’s emotional side. Their love for Adriel was too strong to let anyone stand in their way.
“We’ll do anything to protect Adriel,” Emma said, her eyes burning with determination. “We’ll never let anything happen to him.”
Elora added, “We’ll make sure he’s safe, no matter what it takes.”
Seda closed her eyes and let out a heavy sigh. She had made the difficult decision to forgive Emma and Elora, but now she would have to face an even greater challenge: asking for help from her mother, Anastasia Matsuda.
Anastasia was a formidable woman, known for her controlling nature and her intense love for her family. But there was more to her than met the eye. She had an air of mystery about her, and rumors whispered of her dark past and her involvement in the occult.
Rumors spread like wildfire that Anastasia’s love for Paul was so intense that it bordered on the obsessive. Some even whispered that she had used dark magic to bind him to her forever.
Despite all this, Seda knew that she had no choice but to turn to her mother for help. She braced herself for what was to come, hoping that Anastasia’s love for her daughter would outweigh her obsession with Paul.
***
Anastasia Matsuda, Seda’s mother, was sitting on the sofa, her fingers tapping impatiently on the armrest. Next to her was Paul, her husband, who was flipping through a magazine.
“It’s been a while since our daughter came home, I miss her,” Paul said, his eyes glancing over the pages of the magazine.
Anastasia’s eyes flashed with a hint of jealousy. She loved her daughter dearly, but the thought of Paul’s attention being focused on someone else made her blood boil.
“Don’t worry, my love,” Anastasia purred, her fingers trailing down Paul’s arm, “Seda will come home soon. And until then, we have each other.”
Paul’s cheeks reddened at the touch of Anastasia’s fingers, and he shifted uncomfortably on the couch. “But…she hasn’t come for a year,” he protested.
Anastasia’s expression hardened at the mention of Seda’s absence. “That girl is just being stubborn,” she said, her tone cold and calculating. “But she’ll come back.”
Paul shuddered at the intensity in Anastasia’s voice. He knew his wife could be possessive, but he never imagined her to be this way. Yet, despite his fear, he couldn’t deny the warmth that spread through his body when Anastasia was near.
Anastasia leaned in, her lips brushing against Paul’s ear. “Now forget about Seda,” she whispered, “and focus on me, your loving wife.”
Paul’s heart skipped a beat as he gazed into Anastasia’s intense eyes. He knew he was in for a wild ride, but he couldn’t resist the allure of his wife’s affection.
