Summary
"A mysterious stalker… Wait, there's a yandere bonus too!? (Deadpan)"
The protagonist is busy building his harem again today.
Because I live close to him, I've been forced to play the role of his childhood friend since we were little. Whatever I do, people compare me to him and end up disappointed. Not that he's a bad person—he's the life of the party. That makes me, a guy with no special talents, stand out even more.
But one day, I received a love letter.
When I opened it, it said:
"I like you. I'll be waiting behind the school building after classes today."
I got more excited than I'd care to admit. —But reality was cruel. The girl waiting there said:
"Huh? Who are you?"
Apparently, she mixed up the shoe lockers when calling me out.
The next day, there was another love letter in my locker.
This time, it said:
"I know everything about you." Notes:
Each chapter is about 1500 words.
A manga adaptation is in progress, but a book version is undecided.
If someone actually dropped it, they did the right thing. Because there’s absolutely nothing new in this story. Even yandere thread got ruined — turns out he’s not just yandere but also, for some bizarre and completely atmosphere-breaking reason, she’s stalking the main character.
Not to mention that the MC is just another one of those tens of thousands of protagonists with inferiority complexes, zero backbone, and a complete detachment from reality. I honestly have no idea why this trend even started — yeah, I know it came from Tenshi — but it’s been so overused that authors really need to take a hard look at themselves and ask why they’re still trying to shove these kinds of characters down our throats.
And honestly, judging by Reddit comments and what people are saying on Discord channels, readers are absolutely sick of this type of protagonist. So I truly hope the author either drops this project or at least writes something logically coherent next time — with a normal main character. Because apart from stalking and dull protag, whole thing was really entertaining and nicely written.
Remember kids. Character development doesn’t have to start with someone being a complete trainwreck.
Was this canceled. Its great
