“Is this all just a treat from Futaba-san~!?”

“Yes~! Eat to your heart’s content!”

“Well, that’s how it goes.”

After about an hour,  we found ourselves in a restaurant that Futaba frequents.

Of course, it’s a private room where we don’t have to worry about other people’s eyes.

Futaba has a good relationship with the owner, who seems to understand the circumstances surrounding her departure from being an idol.

And we’re here for a friendly gathering.

“You’re really generous with treating us, huh?”

While saying this, I dug into the ordered potatoes.

“Well, even though I quit being an idol, I was making so much money that I have a lot of savings.”

“As expected from a former beautiful idol.”

“It’s only ‘formal idol’, right? I’m still beautiful! Don’t forget that!”

“I’m the one who knows best because I’ve seen it up close.”

I gently stroked Futaba’s head as her cheeks flushed red.

“Hey, could you please not flirt right in front of me?”

Yuzuha was watching the couple’s exchange with a stern look.

“Sorry about that. Cut us some slack, we’re a couple.”

“Why…”

“Because it’s obvious I’ll get jealous!”

“…Well…sorry.”

It might not be a full-blown real-life romance, but Yuzuha seems to have considerable feelings for Futaba. 

Not in a romantic sense, but more in the sense of admiration or respect.

I guess Yuzuha doesn’t like seeing someone she admires flirting with a man in front of her, even if they’re of the same sex.

I’m sure there’s some kind of feeling like the person she admires is ‘tainted’.

“Yuzuha-chan? Let me tell you this, the reason I quit being an idol is because I want to openly flirt with Kani-kun like this, you know?”

Futaba, tilting her head slightly, told Yuzuha sitting across from her.

“That’s… I already know that because I saw Futaba-san say it at the press conference.”

“So, it’s like, I get your feelings, Yuzuha-chan, but I’ve held back for so long. I want to enjoy these moments with Kani-kun now.”

“I know that too. Futaba-san, all the things you’ve been putting up with all this time became clear to me after watching that press conference.”

“Thank you for understanding me. Yuzuha-chan is a very kind girl after all.”

“I’m just a fan. I don’t want to interfere too much in your private life, Futaba-san.”

“No, that’s not true~ Yuzuha-chan and I are already friends. So it’s okay if you tell me a little bit about it, okay?”

“Eh?”

Yuzuha let out a weak voice as she heard Futaba’s unexpected statement.

“But, can you endure just a bit?”

Placing her index finger on her mouth, Futaba smiled.

Wow, what an emotional line. When you hear it again, it sounds so nice.

I can really feel Futaba’s love. I have a really nice girlfriend.

It looks like today will be a fiery night.
