Chapter 20 – Strategy Meeting
“I guess I’ll stay quiet until things calm down. Anything I do here will only cause my reputation to go down.”
Futaba said as she leaned back on the sofa.
“You think that’s the right move?”
“But still~ now that I think about it, it kind of pisses me off that I’m letting the netizens say whatever they want.”
She stared at my smartphone screen.
“You’re the one who made them say those things.”
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s entertaining to watch~ But they’re satisfied with just bashing, so I want to make them taste more hell.”
“You’re ruthless.”
“Obviously.”
She gave a thumbs up.
Certainly, rather than letting those who have been acting selfishly go unchecked, attaching some consequences now seems like a better idea so they don’t do the same thing over and over again.
“How about I contact the police now and have them identify all the accounts spreading defamation about me? We could make them pay damages.”
“I think that’s totally fine, but wouldn’t that cost a lot of money?”
“Don’t worry about that. I’ve made enough money for my lifetime.”
“Ah, you’re right.”
I remember seeing Futaba’s monthly income statement once before, and I couldn’t believe my eyes.
She was making as much as the average annual salary of a regular office worker. And she’s just a high school student.
“So~, I’m thinking of making the announcement while my official ‘Angel-chan’ Twitter is still active~”
“Maybe it’s not a good idea to do it now.”
“Why? Isn’t it fine?”
“See, rather than figuring out who said what later, it’s probably more efficient to search for them beforehand. If they’ve been deleted, tracking them down would be a hassle.”
“It’s okay. Look~”
Futaba showed me the screen of her smartphone.
“I’ve already found computer software that searches for tweets that say things like ‘die,’ ‘disappear,’ and other abusive language, and took photos of them, so I have all the evidence.”
“Impressive…”
What is displayed is a screenshot of her Twitter screen saved in the cloud.
Even if I keep scrolling down, it doesn’t reach the end.
What initiative! It seems she was ready to go to court all along, even if she didn’t talk about it.
“Well, I was just doing it because I wanted to keep it as a memory, but the time has come for it to be useful.”
Futaba said with a sly grin.
“By the way, how many are there?”
“Roughly around 4,000? I’m sure there’s something I’ve missed, so it’s not all of them.”
“The rest is left to the police to identify.”
“Yeah. It would take too much time to do it myself, and I’m satisfied that I’ve already saved a lot of memories.”
She looked at her smartphone with a big smile on her face. Then, she continued,
“Now, I just need to see people who bashed me and still live normal lives have their lives ruined because they have to pay compensation or maybe even go to jail in some cases, it’s perfect!”
The netizens are probably satisfied with writing everything they want to say by now.
The hardcore fans will probably stick around forever, but once they’ve vented their extreme opinions, they’ll eventually be satisfied.
While they might feel satisfied now, they should prepare to see even more hell from now on.
After all, when Futaba decides to take action, she goes all the way.
