Chapter 16 – Creepy Otakus
“No matter how much money and time you spend on me, it doesn’t matter because my fans are strangers. It’s my choice even if I have a lover or retire. There’s no reason for anyone to interfere in my life.
And yet, they have the audacity to criticize and talk down to me, claiming their own opinions as if they matter just because they spend money. Seriously, something is seriously wrong with their heads. Spending money and time doesn’t justify attacking me, no matter how you look at it.”
Futaba banged on the desk and pointed her finger at the camera.
Despite the commotion, the camera continues to follow Futaba without stopping.
This is being broadcast live nationwide right now. It’s probably going to be a big deal on Twitter later.
“My fans are amazing, huh? They flip-flop so easily. One day they support an idol, and the next day they’re bashing them, just because they have a lover. Well, that’s just how it is. Those creepy idol otakus. Of course, there are some exceptions that are really great fans. I feel sorry for them, but those good fans are just a handful. Most of them are just selfish, creepy otaku.”
“You’re going too far!”
“What kind of press conference is this?”
The two reporters raised their voices, apparently unable to bear Futaba’s revelations.
However,
“Take them out of here.”
Futaba said, looking at the reporter with disdainful eyes, and security immediately escorted them outside.
Everyone in the venue just watched and didn’t say anything.
“Well, I’ve talked too much, so I guess it’s time to conclude.”
Futaba clapped her hands and and took out her smartphone from her pocket.
“Let’s search for my name on social media right now.”
She operated her phone, starting to check the results of her search.
“Look! It’s the number one trend! And it’s mostly criticism! That’s right, this is what I wanted to see! All the fans getting so angry!”
I immediately opened my smartphone and checked.
Then, a Futaba mentioned, the screen displayed trends such as “The Bombshell Press Conference by Angel-chan,” “Angel-chan is Trash,” “An idol degrading her fans,” and similar phrases.
“So, I’ll say this to the fans and other outsiders who criticize me and talk trash about me online.”
Futaba got up from her seat and turned off the microphone,
“Take that!”
She declared in a voice loud enough to echo throughout the venue.
And when she turned the microphone back on,
“Well then, the press conference is over. Thank you for your attention.”
She bowed and returned backstage.
At that moment, I saw a glimpse of Futaba from the side of the stage that came into view.
She made a small victory pose and looked fresher than ever before.
