- Chapter 55- Advantage of having a mature lady around!
[Aoki Hayama’s POV:]
Being in her late thirties there were not many things that engages Aoki’s interest. Just the TV drama and sometimes shopping dates with her sister are everything Aoki looks forward to, especially when her husband and daughter were away.
Aoki has grown accustomed to only meeting her husband once a month but this absence of her daughter was something weighing her heart since it was the first time Mika has gone out with her friends.
Aoki was happy for Mika since she finally was growing up and taking her decisions but still it was inevitable for Aoki to be troubled about her.
It was fortunate that there was someone caring and actually considerate toward her daughter, along with her on the trip whom Aoki could trust her daughter on.
Ryuuji Takuya.
The boy whom Aoki met on a random day slowly got to know things about him which naturally surprised her. Living alone for so long and taking care of himself without an ounce of grief or any want of sympathy was genuinely praiseworthy.
And the way Ryuuji cared for her daughter was everything a mother could ask for. He was the perfect boy Aoki could find as her future son-in-law. And the way things were proceeding between Mika and Ryuuji, Aoki was already having a lot of plans for the future.
But little did she think there would be such a speed break that would appear in their relationship.
**DING*DONG**
“Hmmm?”
Aoki saw the clock and found it was past eleven, which was far from an ideal hour to visit someone especially when a woman is living alone with her daughter.
Aoki steadily made her way to the intercom with a friend on her brows before she checked the CCTV footage.
All her wariness disappeared and what took place was nothing but concern as the older woman hurriedly unlocked the door and went saw a very familiar face.
“Mika? What happened?”
There was an older short haired woman with Mika whom Aiko identified as Kazuya’s aunt from what she has seen on the social network but seeing her daughter at this hour when she was supposed to be having fun with her friends pulled all of Aoki’s attention.
“Nothing. I am going to sleep.”
Mika with a downcast look didn’t answer clearly and just walked ahead of her mother before climbing the stairs toward her room.
“Mika!”
Aoki nearly shouted but she soon somehow collected herself and turned toward her guest.
Aoki was aware of Mika’s nature and she knows Mika only behaves this way when she has been hurt badly. And in her current mood, Aoki knew she wouldn’t get any answers from her daughter.
“Please come inside.”
“Oh no, it’s fine. I have to return soon since I have left the children alone back at the beach.”
Aoki nodded in understanding since she knew other than Yukino there must be no one in the beach house for the other three.
“Anyway, we will have a chat later, and if about Mika-san then it’s related to Ryuu. I have no idea what happened between them but as soon as I hear it from him, I will call you.”
Yukino knew Mika’s mother would be tense about her daughter but since she had no idea why Mika suddenly turned hell-bent on returning home, Yukino can only temporarily reassure Aiko.
“I will also try to talk to her. Anyway, thanks for driving all the way just for her sake.”
Yukino brushed away the gratitude since it was not much to be felt gratified about before she left the Hayama residence and drove back to the beach.

[An hour later]
As Yukino entered her house, the previous jolly and cheery mood was nowhere to be seen as clouds of gloom overtook the whole place.
She walked toward Aya who was unnervingly walking to and fro near the staircase with Kazuya just sitting on the stairs with a helpless look on his face.
“Where is Ryuuji? He has returned right?”
Aya snapped out of her reverie as she saw the older woman but hearing the name she asked about, the blond girl’s mood again soured as she angrily spat her words.
“He’s behaving like a depressed loser. Not a word he has told us ever since he heard about Mi-chan returning to her home.”
Kazuya’s expression clearly showed that he was more stressed about Aya rather than Ryuuji but the older woman held it for the moment and with a smile, she soothed the little girl.
“Sometimes we have to take things carefully, Aya-chan. You guys relax, I will go talk to him.”
Aya somehow calmed down hearing Yukino’s relaxed tone since she herself was lost on the option of how to make Ryuuji spit it out about what happened. It was one of the benefits of having a mature adult around.
“Kazu. Take her to my room.”
Kazuya nodded and whisperingly pleaded with Aya to follow him. He was thankful for his aunt who saved the day or who knows how long Aya was going to continue her march.
Sighing the older woman shook her head as she made her way upstairs.
She has seen different boys and girls in their youth who often visit her restaurant. Even her nephew was someone a hot-blooded fool, just a perfect example of his age group.
But Ryuuji was always different. Adaptable and mature for his age. However, she forgot, despite his outer covering, Ryuuji was still a teenager who was bound to make mistakes.
And as his aunt, it was her duty to guide him on the right path.
