- Chapter 53- Ploy and disturbance!
“…and I said that we were just lost even though our school wasn’t that big.”
“Yeah…”
It’s been some time since Sakura pulled Ryuuji out of the party where he met various familiar faces. Strangely Naomi and Mika didn’t follow them inside, but then again the crowd was so suffocating that made Ryuji relieved that Naomi was there with Mika.
Ryuuji himself was planning to exit the place and take Mika back to the beach house when Sakura pleaded with him to stay a little longer and under others’ persuasion Ryuuji wasn’t able to reject.
However, the weird thing was Sakura’s sudden request to follow her to the beach. She said she wanted to have a peaceful chat so Ryuuji also didn’t think much and went after her. Last he checked, then Mika was chatting with Naomi normally and it didn’t seem Mika was forcing herself to be there so Ryuuji thought it wouldn’t hurt if he stays with Sakura for a little while.
But now as time has passed, he has begun to worry about Mika. He admits that reminiscing about the past and talking about school and stuff was time-engaging and Ryuuji liked to have some quality time with his first best friend but not right now when Ryuuji had someone’s responsibility on him.
“Hey, Ryuu?”
Ryuuji was startled since he never noticed when in between the chat Sakura moved beside him and stood some breath away with her eyes teary and a droopy smile adorning her lips.
“You really love Mika-san, huh?”
Ryuuji raised his brows since he was lost at what he should respond to. Sakura knowing about his feeling for Mika was a surprising fact but he thought either it must be Naomi who told her or maybe it was his actions.
Whatever it was, he chose to speak the truth.
“Yes, I do.”
Hearing his words, strangely Sakura’s smile dropped even more as her fading words somehow reached up to him.
“Is that so…”
“What happened?”
Seeing her like this it was natural for Ryuuji to ask about her sudden change of demeanor. Until now she was all cheery and in her natural aura in which Ryuuji mostly remembered the girl but right now she seemed incredibly disheartened.
Sakura hearing his query turned her head to the right as it seemed she was mustering up her courage. Ryuuji patiently waited for her to speak but never expected her following words would be so abrupt.
“And here I always thought…I would be Ryuu-kun’s bride…”
Ryuuji was taken aback for a moment as he had trouble understanding what he heard right now. It took him time but his mind told him that Ryuuji didn’t hear her wrong.
After a momentary pause, he spoke with a slight frown adorning his brows.
“But…weren’t we just friends, Sakura?”
“For you, I indeed was a friend but I always thought of Ryuu-kun as someone close to me. I always thought of the time I spent with you and how can I get back with you.”
Ryuuji was in turmoil upon hearing her unexpected statement which was entirely foreign to him however and how much he tried to recall. There weren’t any instances in the past which could define that Sakura had some kind of feelings for him and the same for Ryuuji as well. Sakura indeed was his dear friend but that’s it.
Taking advantage of Ryuuji’s confusion Sakura continued, this time with tears in her eyes.
“You know even my parents knew how much I adored you and there is a picture of you in my room as well. I always looked at it whenever I felt lonely or felt down. The time I wasn’t able to see you were the toughest period and when I saw you today I found my emotions bursting…I-I…can’t even tell…I love you Ryuu-kun. I was the first yet…*sniff*”
By the time she reached the conclusion there were heavy tears trailing down her cheeks as Ryuuji also pulled himself out of his daze before he tried to calm down the girl.
“Oi…don’t cry, okay? I never knew about your feelings and even if I would have I don’t know how would I have responded to them. I always thought of us as just best buddies.”
“I know! I know you would never look at me. I know it’s Mika-san for you, so please at least let me be with you at this moment. I beg you Ryuu-kun… I beg you…just for now…let me be!”
Her voice was trembling uncontrollably which made Ryuuji slightly regretful of why he ever not seen her feelings and kept his distance. He never saw Sakura in that manner but if she really had one-sided feelings for him for so long, he could understand how she must be feeling right now.
He has gone through that phase.
Sakura didn’t miss her chance and hugged Ryuuji while pretending to be sad all the time. Her tears were so real that even Sakura doubted for a moment whether she really didn’t have feelings for Ryuuji, right?
But as soon her arms went on his sturdy chest and trailed down to his stony abs and his manly scent overwhelmed her, she knew she was just lusting over him. She knew she couldn’t take things fast with him like those horndogs she used to date, so she was just happy with this for starters. She has to take things one at a time and sauce him using a thing or two which she has learned over years.
But Sakura knew to have Ryuuji around her finger; she needed to separate him from Mika, first. And with the stroke of lady luck, she found her figure approaching them from afar.
“Hey, Ryuu-kun…”
“Hmm?”
Tilting her head upwards she found evidently struggling Ryuuji who wanted nothing but to escape but she wanted to play another card for tonight.
“The thing is…I am moving out of the nation for further studies and I don’t know whether I could meet you in the future or not..so, can you do something for me?”
Ryuuji frowned as he didn’t know Sakura who was so weak in studies can even go foreign for studies but since it was like a farewell for them, he hummed in response.
“…then can you close your eyes for a bit?”
As she said, Sakura separated her body from his which gave relief to Ryuuji since he felt it was completely out of place for him to be so intimate with someone he had met after so long and also the girl who recently confessed her love.
“Please…”
Seeing the genuine plead in her eyes, Ryuuji sighed and finally closed his eyes with no idea what her mischievous mind was now up to. He had a hunch that she must be playing a prank on him but when he suddenly felt something warm pressing on his lips, he understood how gravely he undertook the situation.
He instantly widened his eyes and indeed found that he wasn’t hallucinating but had his lips connected to Sakura.
He was about to throw her, right away but suddenly Sakura herself separated from him, and with her eyes focused on someone behind Ryuuji, she spoke a name Ryuuji desired to hear the least at the moment.
“Ah, Mika-san. Sorry for keeping him this long~”

A/N:- Realistically speaking I have met girls like her which were why I felt rather easy to portray Sakura’s nature and absurd behavior.
Now, it will take some time for Ryuuji to get her, but well, drama was much required~
