- The person who used to hate me, suddenly turned into a yandere!
- Chapter 36- You are my Mika!
“Welcome back~.”
“I am home.”
“Sorry for the intrusion.”
Around five in the evening, both Ryuuji and Mika returned to the latter’s home as per her mother’s request to meet Ryuuji.
The older version of Mika greeted the teenagers before they walked in while carrying some shopping bags.
“Ara~You shop so little, Mika?”
Aoki seldom has seen her daughter going to shop for something herself or to say, Mika only has gone to buy anything, especially clothes, in the past when her parents forced her to. And with friends, it was her first time.
She was expecting Mika to spend all her monthly allowance on this unexpected yet welcomed trip but there were only three bags in total.
“Mm. I just got what I needed for the trip. Ah, thanks for carrying them Ryuu-kun.”
Ryuuji nodded as he handed the shopping bags to Mika before she went upstairs. Ryuuji didn’t buy anything since he already had swimming boxers in his cupboard.
And since he had to save money for the trip, he had decided to limit his other expenses.
“Hai. Here you go.”
Suddenly Aoki turned toward Ryuuji and slid an envelope inside his shirt pocket. Her movement was so fluent that Ryuuji didn’t even get the time to react.
Only after he took out the envelope did he realize what it was before he instantly walked toward the lady in a fluster.
“Aunty, this… You gave me allowance on New Year and now this. I respect your kindness but I can’t accept this.”
The envelope had Japanese yen packed inside which Ryuuji received even on New Year’s evening from Mika’s mother. At that time he didn’t oppose the idea since it was a special occasion but today she clearly wanted to provide him for the trip.
Aoki didn’t turn toward the silly child and continued washing the vegetables as she spoke in a serene tone.
“You were hurt, that’s why you broke ties with us, but for me, you are still the same. The only person who has called me Okaa-san other than Mika… How am I supposed to act like strangers with him?”
Ryuuji’s lips were parted but no words came out as he stared at the older woman who despite not having any blood relations, cares for him so deeply.
And also, she kept in mind to give the envelope only when Mika was upstairs, which shows how considerate a person could be. And Ryuuji wasn’t a stone-hearted person to reject such warmth and insult her feelings.
Taking the envelope back, he bowed slowly before voicing the only thought that came into his mind.
“Thank you and I apologize for being rude, aunty.”
Aoki just smiled and asked the young man to get up before Mika arrived and who knows what she misunderstands.
__…
Aoki asked Ryuuji to stay for dinner and since it was already late, Ryuuji also agreed.
After Mika returned, they both decided to start the vacation homework since there wasn’t anything else to do.
“Seriously, how boring you both can be to study just on the first day of the holidays. I used to do such tedious work during the last week of vacation.”
As Aoki placed the tray of sliced apples on the table, she spoke with a weary sigh. These two were indeed compatible.
“That’s why your grades-itta! It hurts!”
Mika tried to slide the bitter truth which she came to know recently when suddenly she felt a burning sensation on her cheeks.
“Stop being cheeky, girl. I am still the only person with a diploma in this house. Hmph!”
After letting go of Mika’s cheeks Aoki stomped away from the room leaving a pouty Mika behind.
Her cheeks got slightly red as the victim rubbed her cheeks in complaint rather than pain.
Ryuuji was silently enjoying the sight of such mischievous Mika who didn’t even leave her mother when it came to school grades.
“You really get along with Aoki-san, don’t you?”
“Of course I do. After all, she is my- wait!”
Suddenly, Ryuuji halted his hand which was about to continue working on the notebook as he heard Mika’s sudden yelp.
Looking at her in perplexion he raised his brows in query.
“When did you start calling my mom by her name?”
Ryuuji sighed while shaking his head since the reaction seemed a little exaggerated in contrast to the issue.
Returning his gaze to the book he answered in a calm tone.
“She said, being called Aunty seems a little too distant that’s why she asked me to call her by her given name.”
Since Ryuuji used to call Mika’s mother by her name in the start, he didn’t find it too troubling to switch.
But for Mika, it was not casual as Ryuuji made it sound. Planting her hand on the table she forced a mistake on Ryuuji’s notebook before the latter looked up in bafflement.
“You leveled up in her scenario and started calling her by name. So I should also get some status update, right?”
Ryuuji was at a loss for what she was saying anymore. His confusion further increased when he heard words like level and such.
Fortunately, Mika, this time spoke in a language that he could understand.
“Like you used to be formal with her but now switched. Then you should do that to me too, no? Why is Aunty now Aoki-san but Mika-san is still Mika-san? I also demand some development!”
Her eyes were brimming with determination and slight annoyance since she was still being called by Ryuuji in the way strangers do.
And adding the fact that her mother got a step ahead of her was infuriating Mika, for which she needed compensation from this biased man.
Ryuuji glided his hand over her shoulder to calm her down since Mika was panicking a lot these days.
He wanted to ask why she was so invested in this topic all of a sudden, but he chose to end her anxiety as soon as possible.
“Okay, I understand. From now on, I am your Ryuu and you are my Mika. Now happy?”

A/N: – I swear the last line was just a slip of the tongue and Ryuuji wanted to convey something else.
But well, everything is fair when a beautiful girl is in front.
