The person who used to hate me, suddenly turned into a yandere!

“So you guys dated just for a week?”

After Ryuuji and Mika let go of each other, there fell a long awkward silence between them since both had something they regretted doing.

Mika was less affected; that’s why she became casual again and went to continue her preparation for her ultimate meal.

While she simmered the steak on the grill pan, she told Ryuuji about her middle school, which concluded with her relationship with Akiteru.

From what she told Ryuuji, it seemed just because of curiosity, Mika agreed to date Akiteru, but nothing other than light hugs occurred between them.

However, Mika could still sense the insecurity in Ryuuji’s voice; that’s why she confessed something which could lift some weight from Ryuuji.

“You know why we broke up just after a week, Ryuu-kun?”

While leaning on the same wall where Mika pinned him earlier, Ryuuji hummed in curiosity only to get stunned after hearing the reason.

“Aki-kun realized his interest didn’t lie in girls but in boys, and when he told me that, we peacefully separated without any unwanted drama.”

Ryuuji’s lips parted in astonishment as he heard something entirely out of the blue. It wasn’t that Ryuuji didn’t believe Mika’s words; rather he never noticed Akiteru being that way.

And not only that, but a person realizing their sexuality in middle school was also a little stretched, but it was all his thinking. He couldn’t judge someone, nor was he going to say it out loud.

“Really? I mean, so you guys just got into a relationship just on a whim and broke up just like that?”

While showering the steak with olive oil and herbs, Mika spoke in a carefree tone since there wasn’t anything she intended to hide from Ryuuji.

“Yes, just like that. Aki-kun is indeed a good guy, but other than a friend, I never thought of him as anything otherwise.”

The grip on Ryuuji’s heart loosened up as he heard those words. Even though he denies it, Mika still influences him more than anyone.

Her liking or disliking someone, makes him insecure or joyous. He might try not to love Mika anymore, but with the flow of things, Ryuuji might need years to finally let go of her.

‘Such a wasted bastard I am…. ‘

After excusing himself, Ryuuji went inside the house and finally could study something in the meantime.

Mika also merrily prepared the dinner, and nearly at half past seven, she served the steaks and vegetables just in the shape she wanted.

“”Itadakimasu. “”

After clasping their hands, both prayed before Ryuuji took the first bite from the steak. He didn’t notice when he was in the kitchen, which made him surprised to see such an authentic dish served in front.

“Woah…”

The first bite he took made his mind numb, and his taste buds exploded with flavors and the steak’s juices.

It really had been a long time since the taste of something had made him feel lucky to be alive.

“It’s incredible, Mika-san. I love it.”

Mika smiled in elation since all the hard work and attention she had utilized, just paid off. Her food being liked by Ryuuji could be the greatest compliment she ever have received.

“Thank you, Ryuu-kun.”

Ryuuji continued to savor the dish slowly, even though he was quite hungry to lash at the dish, in an instant. He wanted to remember each of his bites and make a memory out of it.

Mika also started to eat dinner as they chatted in between bites. This time, the previous awkwardness slowly vanished as the usual chattering was exchanged from both sides.

Around half past eight, Mika and Ryuuji left the latter’s apartment. Since he felt it was quite late, Ryuuji also got out to take Mika back home.

Mika didn’t resist since she likes to spend time with Ryuuji as much as she can. She likes his company, and there was a possibility of that too…

“Mika-san? What happened? Your face seems red.”

Ryuuji tilted his head as he gazed at Mika, who got herself flushed since she thought of something shameless at the moment.

“I-Its nothing!”

In a fluster, Mika rushed down the stairs as she tried to hide this embarrassing side of her. Ryuuji followed behind after he locked his door.

Soon they started walking on the street side by side, without any words traveling any longer.

Strange, it seems, now the atmosphere around the two becomes awkward real soon, and Ryuuji himself can’t seem to find anything to break the ice.

Since their residence weren’t far, it didn’t take them long before Mika turned toward Ryuuji to bid her farewell.

“Okay then, Ryuu-kun. See you in the morning.”

Mika smiled with her hand on her back before she turned to walk inside since she hadn’t gotten over her previous stupor.

But suddenly, her feet halted as she felt a warm hand grabbing her wrist in a gentle hold.

Mika blinked in perplexion before she turned toward Ryuuji in puzzlement.

“Ryuu-kun?”

“I just wanted to thank you for dinner, Mika-san. And also, for whatever has been happening since last night, if you have felt wrong about anything, I am sorry for that.”

He tried to voice calmly his words, but Mika was able to sense the anxiety. In her own circumstances, Mika completely neglected how Ryuuji was suffering from this whole sudden development.

She didn’t like it. She didn’t want Ryuuji to feel anxious about whatever had happened. But he wouldn’t know until she tells him.

Turning toward him, Mika held his hand back and assured him.

“Whatever happened was consensual, Ryuu-kun, so don’t apologize. And I told you yesterday, right? You won’t do anything to hurt me; that’s what I believe from deep inside my heart. So, stop thinking uselessly, okay? ”

Hearing her comforting words while being held by her so warmly, Ryuuji fell into a daze with his gaze unmoving from her beautiful eyes.

Only one thing came to his mind after a long pause.

‘How can I not fall for you, Miku…’
