“What do you mean, you are the only one?”

Upon hearing Mika’s question out of the blue regarding the kiss which happened last night, Ryuuji’s mind went blank for several seconds.

He indeed was expecting something from her to ask but confirming that he hadn’t kissed anyone before, was totally unexpected.

Crossing the road as the signal went green for pedestrians, Mika answered in a slightly heavy tone.

“I mean…last night. I can’t believe someone kissing for the first time could be that good, Ryuu-kun. I don’t distrust Ryuu-kun, but I just want to hear you say it.”

Mika has realized various things after last night. Something that either she was denying or never was aware of. Her mindset about Ryuuji changed after that day when she got to know about his parents, but last night, she realized something more.

A feeling she wants to nurture and develop toward none other but only Ryuuji

On the other hand, Ryuuji was perplexed upon thinking why Mika, even though it wasn’t his first time.

What he didn’t realize was why Mika was even asking such a thing in the first place and talking about trust when they weren’t in a relationship.

Neither of them had such thoughts as they walked steadily toward the school.

“No, of course, I haven’t kissed anyone before. Mika-san is my first.”

Ryuuji answered like he was convincing her that, indeed, it was his first time being intimate with someone.

Mika’s expression loosened as she heard what she desired. Her mood lightened up instantly, and so did her steps.

The time when she returned to her room after breakfast this morning, she had a sudden realization today. The way he kissed her and made her feel good didn’t seem like he was as amateur as she was.

The image of someone being in such a space with Ryuuji. Being cozy with him…kissing him…

‘Fuck! Why am I thinking about it again!’

Cursing herself, which she generally doesn’t, Mika shook off her thoughts and entered the school along with Ryuuji.

The school was mainly crowded since there was about half an hour left for the homeroom. Some students took glances at the couple, but those were mostly from first years.

Those who were in the other two years have already witnessed how close Ryuuji and Mika usually stay, even though the latter seemed reluctant.

If Ryuuji was a little ball of energy that kept on chatting one-sidedly with Mika, then now things have changed.

Now he looked more mature and complimented his partner as they made their way to their classroom.

“Ohayo~Mi-chan. Ah, Ryuuji too?”

“Morning, Aya.”

Mika greeted her friend a little awkwardly since the last incident had made her conscious of various things. Ryuuji just nodded and took his seat behind Aya.

Soon Kazuya also arrived as the four chatted about random stuff while they had time before the homeroom.

Their talk is majorly grouped into two. Mika and Aya primarily like to gossip about a specific drama they watch, and the two guys discussed about soccer.

Suddenly, out of the blue, Kazuya spoke something after he got the attention of the other three.

“Don’t go anywhere during lunch. I need to say something to you all.”

Everyone became baffled by such a sudden request, but before someone could speak, the teacher walked in, silencing the whole class.

“Stand. Bow. Greet.”

The class soon started, dispersing the previous curiosity they had after hearing Kazuya.

Since the summer break was around the corner and the half-term exam soon after that, the homeroom and following classes were focused on those topics which might be necessary for exams.

Time flowed like water, and soon the lunch break arrived nearly at twelve noon.

There were a lot of students who liked to spend their lunchtime in the cafeteria, so they left in groups. The others also catch up with their friends and spend their free time together.

There were people who wanted to share lunch with these four, too, as in one way or another, this group was famous among the whole school. But looking how unapproachable they seemed, everyone kept their distance.

Connecting desks with each other, Kazuya and Ryuuji sat on one side and the girls opposite them.

Ryuuji was a little hesitant to take out his lunch since only some days ago, he decided never to rely on Mika and become self-dependent. But here he was again.

Aya also had her homemade lunch, which she herself prepared. And as for Kazuya, he usually brings convenience store food, just like today.

As everyone opened their boxes, Kazuya spoke about the thing he had been planning for a while and was really excited to confess.

“So, yeah. You guys don’t have a plan for the summer break, right? I mean, the initial days?”

As Kazuya asked, Aya thought for several seconds before she responded in an unsure tone.

“I have plans to visit my grandma, but the dates haven’t been decided.”

Kazuya nodded before he turned toward Mika.

“Ryuu-kun and I have plans to study all summer holiday. Right, Ryuu-kun?”

Ryuuji just nodded as he continued chewing on the crunchy cabbage chicken roll, which he really liked.

Kazuya wanted to say something related to how confidently Mika stated about Ryuuji’s plan, but he held back.

“If it’s like that, then why don’t we four go on a vacation this summer?”
