“I am sorry again for my mother’s selfishness. And thank you for staying over.”

It was almost half past ten on the clock. The movie had ended, as well as the initial shock Ryuuji fell into after he heard Mika’s mother’s absurd request.

The worst thing was that the lady didn’t even let Ryuuji talk any further before she disconnected the call while leaving the words, “Use protection tho~.”

Ryuuji has spent time with Aoki but still couldn’t believe how carefree she has been when it comes to him and Mika.

Even before, she agreed to make him her son-in-law without much care and gave him the support to pursue her.

Sometimes he worried about her judgment. But then again, he knows that no mother would let any random guy be alone with their child, so she must have tested him when he wasn’t noticing.

Even so, staying over is a bit…

“I told you, it’s okay, Mika-san. Now go and rest.”

Ryuuji was given the guest room, which was on the ground level, just opposite the master bedroom. Mika’s room is on the first floor, so he asked to go to her first.

Mika nodded meekly before she turned and started walking back. The panda-print pajama-wearing Mika looked extremely adorable and somehow dangerous to look at too.

Without letting his eyes wander to a strange place, Ryuuji closed the door and blamed his perverseness which was raging like a bull today.

‘Like seriously, man? ‘

Cursing inwardly, Ryuuji went to the washroom once before he slid inside the covers, all calm and clear.

Unlike at home, where he sleeps on the floor, the guest room had a two-person bed, all for Ryuuji today with the smell of freshly washed covers and sheets fermenting around him.

It was uncomfortable to sleep at someone else’s, but the softness of the mattress and the warmth of the blanket clouded it all.

‘Tomorrow, we might be going together too, huh….’

It was a memorable day for him. Today he spent many moments with Mika, which he never intended to do after what he resolved that day.

They shared an umbrella for the first time, although they had known each other for more than five months. They shared the same table, but what was new would be the initiative Mika took to talk to him.

Ryuuji got so many new reactions from Mika, which made him realize that the daring and always calm Mika could also yelp and scream like a little girl.

And now he was here. Sleeping just a floor beneath her. Never he thought after that night that things would elevate in such a furious manner.

**Knock**

Ryuuji got slightly startled upon hearing the soft knocks on his door. Getting out of the covers, he twisted the doorknob and opened the gate to see the expected person.

“Mika-san? Are you alright?”

In from of him stood a timid Mika who was hugging her pillow with half of her face covered.

Looking with an up glance, she spoke in a tone that Ryuuji was barely able to catch.

“Can’t sleep…too scared alone.”

Ryuuji sighed as he understood her current state of mind, and the outside thundering and downpour were making the matter worse.

Ryuuji thought for a long minute before he landed on a solution, albeit a little too hesitant to say.

Nevertheless he made the proposal.

“Then how about we sleep in the same room?”

“Yes.”

Ryuuji’s eyes went wide with his brows reaching the ceiling as he heard the almost simultaneous response, like she knew what he was about to say.

But that wasn’t the focal point here!

“Mika-san, are you sure? You know I am a guy, right? And more importantly, you know I had a crush on you… even so?”

Thanks to the fact that Mika’s face was covered with the pillow, which helped her to hide the heat reddening her neck. Without turning her gaze, Mika responded in a soft yet audible tone this time.

“I am aware, Ryuu-kun. But I trust Ryuu-kun that he won’t do anything which could hurt me.”

Her voice contained confidence which made Ryuuji stunned for several seconds. It was true that Ryuuji won’t do anything to hurt her, but still, it was too defenseless of her.

‘Well, I was the one who proposed the idea first….’

“Then come in. I wi-”

Ryuuji was about to walk inside while he spoke when he suddenly felt a tug on his sleeve, breaking his words instantly.

Looking back, he saw Mika gesturing upward as she spoke in the same weak tone.

“To my room…can’t sleep elsewhere.”

Ryuuji wanted to say something, but he held back and nodded for her to proceed.

Mika smiled in delight before she started walking steadily back to her room while guiding Ryuuji on her back. Ryuuji has long lost his reasoning capability as he did everything on a spur.

Ryuuji’s heart rate increased as he climbed the stairs since it was the first time he had entered Mika’s room. He might be familiar with the whole house but this floor was still foreign to him.

But just after entering inside, a twitching smile formed on his face as he saw a futon already prepared beside the bed.

‘She already planned for this….’
