- Chapter 18 - Shiori Talks About Various Things
“Here’s your tea…”
“Thank you…”
As Shiori’s livestream continues, Asakura, unable to sleep after her horror game stream, comes into the room.
“You know, having someone around really makes me feel at ease!”
“The way things are… are you staying over tonight?”
“Yeah! I can’t go home now! Actually, I planned to go to the other girl’s place, but she’s doing a sleepover stream there, so she’s not home.”
“Oh, I see…”
The other girl… means member of Citrus, whom I haven’t met yet?
And doing a sleepover stream… wasn’t that one of the third-year girls?
I completely figured it out from her words, and I now know who the last person is for sure… but there’s nothing in particular to mention about it.
“Really… everyone in Citrus seems to get along well?”
“Yeah, definitely. Even as new juniors keep coming in, it doesn’t mean we spend less time with the ones we’ve been close to. Well, there are occasional small arguments, but basically, we get along.”
“…There are rumors about them not getting along, though.”
“Yeah, that happens! With more people, there are more fans, and even within the same group, there are people who stir up conflicts.”
“That sounds like a hassle.”
“Yeah, it is. You might want to say, ‘What do you know about us?’ But if you point it out, it just becomes more trouble.”
As expected, as a streamer… and being affiliated with a company, these kinds of troubles seem common.
“But in the end, it’s only a few people saying those things, so if you leave it alone, it’ll die down and no one will pay attention.”
“True.”
“But sometimes, standing out because there are fewer of you can be troublesome.”
After discussing that, Asakura’s eyes lit up as she said,
“By the way, how do you spend time with Shiori? Tell me.”
“How do you mean… just normally?”
“It’s not normal for a young man and woman to live together, is it?”
When she puts it like that… yeah, it’s not normal.
The way I started spending time with Shiori, and everything that’s happened since then, isn’t normal… you could even call it abnormal.
But still, I… I like this lifestyle now.
There are parts where I go with the flow, but being able to be with Shiori and seeing her happy about it makes me happy.
“Yeah, well… with Shiori—”
Even if she asks from there, I didn’t particularly mention anything problematic.
I didn’t say anything about us sleeping together… but Asakura seemed to enjoy listening the whole time, so I was a bit worried I might slip up.
“Tomokawa says Shiori seems to be having a lot of fun… but I understand because I interact with Shiori after the stream ends.”
“You understand?”
“Yeah! But I’m the only one who knows that Shiori spends time with a man, Tomokawa. I’ve said it before, but please be careful!”
“Haha… I understand.”
Laughing like that, we finally finished Shiori’s livestream.
While Asakura and I were talking, the stream continued on her phone, so we noticed it ended right away.
After a while, Shiori sighed and came into the living room.
“Good work, Shiori.”
“Good work, Shiori~”
“Thank you, Asahi, Mai.”
Shiori took a bottle of juice from the fridge, gulped it down, and thanked us.
And then, she sat down between me and Asakura.
“Wow, you’re really dividing us up, Shiori.”
“Of course. Next to Asahi-san is my spot.”
“Hee~♪”
Shiori gently laid her hand over mine.
The slightly sweaty feeling was proof that she had been gripping the mouse all this time.
“You two are really close, huh?”
“It’s natural for us to be close. Right, Asahi-san?”
“Yeah…”
…It’s embarrassing to nod in this kind of situation.
“So, Mai-chan couldn’t sleep after playing that horror game.”
“Hey! That’s true but watch how you say it!”
“…But I understand how you feel. That horror game is seriously scary.”
It was a horror game Asakura played, and I know what game it is.
It’s from the Showa era, or something like that… a game that relives those kinds of urban legends and horrors.
I’ve seen many streamers play that game, and every one of them felt fear… that’s how intense the horror game is.
“Shiori, you should play it too. It’s definitely scary!”
“You say it’s scary, so I don’t want to play it.”
“But you haven’t had it spoiled, right?”
“No.”
“Then let’s play!”
“…………”
Shiori glanced at me.
“…I’ll play it if Asahi-san hugs me from behind.”
“That’s fine, right? Let’s play!”
“No way!”
Isn’t that totally going to give it away!
Of course, it seemed she wasn’t serious, but Shiori’s eyes were briefly serious… I wonder.
“Well, tonight I’ll sleep with you.”
“Thank you, Shiori!”
“Asahi-san… um.”
“Yeah, I’ll sleep here.”
“Sorry? Let’s sleep together again starting tomorrow.”
“…Wait, you two are sleeping together?”
Ah…
Aside from my sudden realization, Shiori wasn’t flustered at all… She said we’d talk about it in the bedroom and they both went off to sleep. I’m really curious about what’s going to happen tomorrow.
“…I’ll go to sleep too.”
After that, I also went to sleep.
But… perhaps because we talked about the horror game before bed, I ended up dreaming about that famous horror game I’d seen in a let’s play video, and it was quite unsettling not being able to sleep for a while.
