- The Person I Met On The Internet Turned Out to be a Super Popular Yandere Vtuber
- Chapter 10 - Shiori's Acquaintance
Waking up in the morning was great.
“Sigh… *breathing sounds*”
“…Phew”
The greatness wasn’t just from seeing Shiori sleeping in front of me.
It was probably because of the incredibly comfortable bed, making it the best wake-up I’ve ever had in my life… Of course, having Shiori by my side was also a big part of it.
“…I’ll go to the bathroom.”
To avoid waking Shiori, I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom.
The toilet in the room I used to stay in… was clean, but not as pristine as this one.
There’s nothing like the satisfaction of using a well-cleaned toilet.
“Phew~”
I unintentionally let out a relaxed sigh, but after finishing in the bathroom, I wondered what I should do next in this situation.
“Um…”
I was already awake and didn’t need to sleep anymore.
So, should I go back to that bedroom and sleep next to Shiori again…? As I pondered, I heard hurried footsteps approaching.
“What…?”
The echoing footsteps drew closer and revealed a figure.
Of course, besides Shiori, there was no one else living here, so it couldn’t be anyone else.
“Huh!?”
But, looking at her expression, I shuddered.
Her eyes, as dark as ink, were terrifying, and the smile she gave me when she noticed me was chilling.
“Oh… I thought you were gone.”
“S-Shiori?”
“Hey, what’s up?”
She smiled beside me, her eyes still void of light.
Despite that, her warmth and reassurance of being by my side were comforting, so my gaze was drawn to her well-structured face rather than her dark eyes.
“Good morning, Shiori.”
But, morning greetings are important.
As soon as I greeted her, the scary atmosphere vanished from Shiori’s surprised face.
Then, she quickly returned the greeting after a moment of confusion.
“Good morning, Asahi!”
Now… despite everything that happened, the day began.
After changing clothes, I made breakfast with Shiori… She tried to do everything by herself, but I couldn’t just stand by and let her do it all.
(Oh… She often forgets to eat while focusing on streaming, so serving light dishes like snacks might be a good idea.)
I’ll discuss this with her later.
And… after breakfast, I was guided to Shiori’s streaming room, which could be considered her workplace.
“Wow.”
“Hehe, it’s refreshing to see you so interested.”
I, myself, didn’t have any Vtuber friends, so seeing this place was new to me.
Of course, many streamers recorded videos showing their streaming rooms, but seeing it in person was different.
“Incredible.”
When it comes to streamers, double monitors!
There were plenty of peripherals hidden well, but cords sprawled like rivers under the desk.
Computers and peripherals were not cheap, and even a little dust or dirt could be detrimental… That’s why the room looked exceptionally clean without any unnecessary items.
“Besides the heart-like computer, gathering all the necessary equipment for streaming must cost a fortune…”
“Yeah, at first, it was hard to afford, but now we have high-quality equipment… Two years ago, it was unimaginable.”
Two years ago… it was the beginning of my journey with Gonzalez.
“But… when you see expensive equipment like this, it’s scary to think about breaking them.”
“I was like that at first, but now I’ve gotten used to it. I make sure to maintain them to prevent any damage. They’re like comrades I can rely on, even if they break anytime.”
“…Cool.”
Indeed… all the equipment placed here are comrades that support Shiori’s activities.
Wow… that’s all I can say.
“Ah… *clears throat*”
“?”
Suddenly, Shiori sat on a chair.
And…
“Hello~ Good evening, it’s time for the stream, Iroha here, good evening~”
“Huh!?”
That was her voice that I usually heard during streams.
She grinned at me, but for me, being able to hear her greeting up close was so touching that tears almost welled up…
“Asahi.”
“Yeah?”
“Meeting you as Gonzalez, I’ve grown this far.”
“…Yeah.”
Oh… it seems she’s good at making me cry.
After a while, I firmly engraved the sanctity of the streaming room in my mind while she continued to smile at me.
Returning to the living room, I unfolded the laptop I brought as one of my belongings on the desk, but compared to such high-performance devices, it was quite cheap.
“…I don’t really need this.”
“No, this is…”
I was researching for work.
I couldn’t continue being a NEET, so I needed to find a job soon… However, Shiori seemed quite dissatisfied since a while ago.
“…I really don’t need it.”
“Ah…”
With a bang, she forcefully let go of my hand.
“You still haven’t fully recovered from the mental fatigue… Starting work in that state won’t last long.”
“But… I need to work.”
“I understand how you feel. But it’s still not good… Please, Asahi, rest a little longer?”
“…”
Can I really afford to be more dependent on her?
As I pondered, Shiori gently placed her hand on my cheek and slowly lowered it to serve as a pillow for my head.
“Well, I also need this time to rest my mind. So, Asahi, take your time to regain your composure. Until I can trust that you’re okay, you can’t start working, okay?”
“…”
Is Shiori a producer of hopeless cases?
After trying to lift my head for a while, I couldn’t escape from this pillow, and time passed by.
After a while, when I finally managed to sit up, Shiori spoke.
“Oh, right— Today, we have a guest coming over.”
“A guest?”
“Yes, I think they’ll come around noon.”
A guest… um, does that mean it’s someone Shiori knows?
I was swirling with thoughts, but in the end, I wasn’t told who was coming.
After lunch, the guest arrived.
“Hello.”
“…”
Shiori smiled happily, and a woman who looked like a gal stared at me in surprise.
What should I do in this situation?
Both the woman and I remained silent, just staring at each other.
“Ma…”
“?”
“A m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-male!?”
That was truly a loud voice, almost like saying it’s a nuisance to the neighborhood.
