Definitely ⭐ star. Maybe ⭐⭐. Basically, a grave disappointment. Considering that this light novel was dropped, I’m honestly surprised this even lasted 20 chapters.
I thought this was going to be some epic morally-gray MC who becomes a villainous prince and decides to hide in the shadows while gaining power, but in the end, this is just some petty, perverted, deviant, twisted, corrupt, impudent child who can’t handle disrespect and wants to get back at people. While the dummy companies and gaining wealth in the shadows and maneuvering was nice, and it was smart of him to gain strength without gaining unwanted attention, that was it, everything else was juvenile and “press X to doubt”. MC made himself so deplorable in order to “get everyone to continue underestimating him” that it’s a miracle nobody’s tried to get rid of him, even his own family. He intentionally provokes and acts depraved to the point that it’s a miracle his family didn’t kick him out, imprison him, or “get rid of him”.
There was also several things he could’ve done to get similar results without acting like the villain. It really just felt like 3rd-rate villainy with a juvenile twist.
Also, WARNING: From Chapter 19 onwards it gets pretty twisted (though it’s kinda like that from Chapter 10 and up), and includes drugging, bondage, body and mind manipulation, forced consent, grape, abduction, and many other things. Lots and LOTS of NTR as well.
So, in the end, this is a severe waste of time. Don’t read, for those who dislike NTR or dark, twisted themes. MC is a true villain, and not even in the best sense. Rather cartoony.
I liked the story at first, but then I came to see how bad the MC is. He’s petty, perverse, and you’ll read “I’ll show them” so many times it really gets quite annoying. Maybe some people are fine with that; I’m just warning other like-minded people.
This will be somewhat interesting… MC is a villain in a true sense. He’s ruthless. This might not be for those who wanted a merciful protagonist because MC literally plotted all things to the point of sacrificing lives
i like the story of mc who put his effort in the shadow I can’t wait for others chapters
