Kansai Guy Reaches Out To His Informant.
Rinko stayed glued to me until Sunday evening. According to her, “If Dai-kun wants to, we can make love as many times as you like.” But I don’t want to put too much strain on her body, and besides—one round fills me with such happiness that I’m completely satisfied. (Apparently, just sleeping naked in my arms is more than enough to make Rinko feel blissful and content.) So once is plenty. Rinko accepts that gently, and even Mio-chan once asked, “Is one time really okay?”… but we’re not like Kentarou-kun and Tamatsukuri-senpai.
For the record, Mio-chan says that even once leaves her heart so full she feels like it might burst with joy. Shi-chan feels the same. As for me, pillow talk, kisses, and the simple touch of skin against skin are more than enough to satisfy me. I don’t feel the need to push greedily for more. A second round would just exhaust us both…
Monday came, and school started again. I’d spent a blissful weekend with Rinko, but now it was time to switch gears. My mind turned to the matter of Imamiya and Tsuruhashi’s little sister. I still didn’t know how those two had ended up together—or whether they were actually dating. Tsuruhashi’s sister undoubtedly harbored a deep grudge against Rinko. And her brother, who hated me just as much, was probably lurking somewhere with his crew. That meant I needed information—anything on Imamiya’s recent movements. There was one person I believed to be well-connected enough to help.
“Good morning, Dai-kun♡”
“Morning, Rinko.”
“Dai-chan, oh-ha—!”
“Good morning, Dai-kun! I’ll give you your lunch later, okay?”
I have to protect these three. If Tsuruhashi’s sister is involved, Rinko is in the most immediate danger. I also need to check whether there’s any connection to Mio-chan or Shi-chan.
“Good morning, Tennouji-sama!”
“Morning, everyone~”
Miyanosaka hasn’t made a move yet… but since he’s tied to me now, he’ll show his hand eventually. The enemy is formidable. If I don’t want to be caught off guard, information is my lifeline.

“Huh? Imamiya-kun and Tsuruhashi-san…?”
During lunch, I shared what I’d seen with Mio-chan and Shi-chan. I wanted them to stay vigilant.
“Tsuruhashi—the one who tried to kill Rin-chan, right? Why would he be hanging out with her?”
“I don’t know. But there’s a chance Imamiya could leak information about all of us. Our routines, our weaknesses…”
“You’re right… If our movements are predicted, we might not even be able to call Dai-kun for help when we need him. We’ll have to protect ourselves too.”
“What the hell is that guy’s problem, seriously! He never does anything good!”
“…We have to be careful too…”
“Imamiya—you mean that Imamiya-sama? To think someone like him would… Perhaps even his approach toward me was part of some ill intent…”
“That guy’s always staring at my chest and butt. Sa-chan’s got a great figure, so he’s probably looking with creepy eyes!”
“…I shall make sure to avoid him.”
“Please do. Anyway, everyone—today after school, I want to dig into Imamiya a bit. Harumiya-san, I hate to ask, but could you have your driver take Mio-chan and the others home safely?”
“Leave it to me, Tennouji-sama! I shall inform Sebas at once. We will ensure everyone arrives home without incident.”
“Thanks… that really helps.”
“Ah—”
Out of habit—the same one I have when I’m with Mio-chan and the others—I reached out and patted Harumiya-san’s head. Her cheeks flushed bright red.
“My heart is racing…”
“Dai-kun, please don’t push yourself into anything dangerous… If something happened to you… I’d… I’d cry…”
“Me too. If anything happened to Dai-chan…”
“Dai-kun… please be careful.”
Being worried over by them like this… I really am a lucky guy. I just hope this doesn’t turn into a dangerous bridge I have to cross…

After school, I saw the girls off, then headed back to the classroom and made my way to Class A. My instincts told me he was the right person—someone with connections. He’d helped during Rinko’s bullying incident, after all. I figured I’d borrow his ears again this time.
“Sorry—excuse me. Is Takii-kun around?”
“Tennouji-kun? Yeah, he’s here. Heeey, Takii-kuuun!”
I asked one of the girls in Class A to call him for me. That’s right—Takii-kun. He sometimes hung out with Imamiya, so I thought he might know something.
“Tennouji? W-What’s up?”
“No need to look so scared. I just have a couple questions.”
“Serious stuff? Sure. Doi—go on ahead!”
“Got it—”
“Sorry, interrupting practice.”
“Nah, don’t worry about it.”
For starters, I bought Takii-kun his favorite drink from the vending machine… Yeah, he loves Dr. Pepper. This school sells a ton of it—kind of mysterious, honestly. Then we headed to the empty classroom in the old school building where we usually eat lunch. Hardly anyone comes by, so it’s safe.
“So, this is about Toshiya?”
“Sharp as ever. Real info broker material.”
“Who, me…? Well, I don’t think I’ve got anything major, but…”
“Anything’s fine. Noticed anything unusual?”
“We stopped hanging out with him a while ago. He started accusing us of random crap. Doi and I were both pissed.”
Apparently, when that anonymous post about Imamiya went up on the underground forum during Rinko’s incident, he immediately suspected Takii-kun and Doi-kun—completely one-sided. Add the secretly taken photos of me and Shi-chan, and they’d had enough and cut ties. They’re still on the same team, though, so they inevitably run into each other.
“He was spreading delusional lewd stories about Akitani and Natsume… yeah, we’re partly to blame for egging him on, but some of the guys got fed up and complained to Momodani and the advisor. Then the advisor saw him harassing Tennouji at the sports festival and gave him an earful—got benched from the starting lineup. He’d been bragging about playing in the Winter Cup, but that crushed him. Now he’s got failing grades and makeup classes. Winter Cup’s the least of his worries—his motivation’s in the gutter.”
All self-inflicted. So he really had been spouting nonsense about dating Mio-chan and the others. I could kind of picture it, but still… Things have gotten pretty bad inside the basketball club too.
“Because of that, he skipped every single practice over winter break. On top of half-assed effort, the advisor recently told him not to step on the court anymore… and he hasn’t shown up since.”
Wow… He doesn’t even have the grit to train hard over summer, claw his way back for nationals, and reclaim his spot? This really isn’t the Imamiya I thought I knew. Hmm… so that’s the Imamiya I saw in the love hotel district?
“Hey, Tennouji. Be careful. Word is Imamiya suddenly started dating the Tsuruhashi girl—the one who tried to kill Fuyuki.”
“What?”
“Tsuruhashi’s got an older brother, right? He’s tight with Taishou, the basketball OB we all hate. Tsuruhashi’s pretty much the leader of that crew. Remember how they messed with your class during the cultural festival? Taishou and the others got expelled. Tsuruhashi got indefinite suspension—and apparently lost his university recommendation too.”
Wait a second. Where’s he getting all this info…? Man, I’m glad Takii-kun’s on our side.
“Then there was the sister’s huge incident. Their parents basically told her to withdraw—said she’d shamed the family enough. That was in December. Since then she’s dropped out completely, hanging around the game centers where delinquents gather in the entertainment district. And that’s where Toshiya started showing up… I’m guessing he got honey-trapped—probably because he used to hang around Fuyuki a lot, and they want revenge.”
“Y-You really dug deep…”
“Doi and I used to run with him too. We don’t want to get dragged into whatever revenge plot he’s cooking up, so we looked into it a bit. The sister’s apparently turned to streetwalking… their ‘play’ down there is brutal. And Toshiya walked right into the trap. Hooked in both senses of the word—haha!”
That’s not funny at all, Takii-kun…
“Saturday, I saw Imamiya and Tsuruhashi walking in the love hotel district.”
“Then it’s over for him. Momodani and the advisor are planning to force him off the team. He’s not even eighteen yet—high schoolers aren’t supposed to go in and out of love hotels. What an idiot. Both of them were hoping he’d turn things around…”
So that’s how far it’s gone. He’s definitely targeting Rinko. And he doesn’t even appreciate the mercy Momodani-kun and the advisor showed him… What the hell is he thinking?
“Watch out for Taishou too. He’s been obsessed with Akitani for ages. There’s a chance the whole group could move together and kidnap her. Every last one of them has dropped out now.”
So Mio-chan’s in danger too. And if Imamiya’s involved, there’s probably someone gunning for Shi-chan as well. This conversation turned out to be incredibly valuable.
“Thanks, Takii-kun. Next time, dinner’s on me. Extra-large katsu curry sound good?”
“N-No thanks… I couldn’t eat that much… Katsu-don’s fine. I seriously love the cafeteria’s katsu-don. I’ll keep digging on the Tsuruhashi crew a bit more. If I find anything, I’ll let you know.”
“Don’t push yourself too hard. If they catch you, it won’t end with just a beating.”
“Yeah. I’ll keep it reasonable. Anyway, I’m off to practice.”
What a terrifying information network. I have no idea where he gets it all… but I breathed a sigh of relief knowing such a reliable ally was on our side.
