Rin, who was tormented by embarrassment, sipped her cocoa and hugged her small body silently. 

As she couldn’t shake off her embarrassment, her sakura-colored eyes didn’t turn towards Haruya, making him feel awkward as well.

“Sorry,” he said, lowering his head as he disliked the uncomfortable silence for some reason. 

Rin’s eyes widened as her shoulder shuddered for a moment.

Realizing that she was making Haruya feel uneasy, Rin quickly spoke up, 

“There’s no need to apologize. Rather, I’m grateful for your help.”

“I thought I might have caused you trouble by being too intrusive.” 

Haruya said, regretting being too pushy, but Rin denied it immediately with a sorry expression on her face.

“That’s not true. I’m sorry. I’m not used to this kind of thing, so I don’t know how to react properly.”

“I see… But well, it’s fine if you just act normal. In fact, it’s better that way.”

He would rather have her come on to him like she did when they first met then have her shrink down and be quiet like this.

One of Rin’s strengths was that she could make friends with anyone without discrimination. For Haruya, who couldn’t be too aggressive, it was easier to be approached than to feel awkward.

“Yeah, you’re right. What’s wrong with me? I wonder…” 

Rin muttered to herself with a gloomy expression.

Rin said, pouting her pretty pink lips and sulking alone.

Seeing her like that, Haruya decided to take on a supporting role.

“I don’t really think you’re that manly though.”

“Well, I’m pretty manly, you know? I have my tough moments.”

When Haruya looked at her profile suspiciously, Rin turned her head away shyly with a ‘pui’ sound.

“Well, some guys have approached me, but…”

“I see… well, you’re just too cute, I guess.”

Haruya was convinced. Despite her youthfulness, Rin was so adorable that even Haruya couldn’t deny it.

Haruya didn’t understand the meaning behind Rin’s words and tilted his head in confusion.

“I mean, you’re used to dealing with girls… I’m not really interested in that sort of thing.”

“No, I’m not used to it at all.”

Haruya spent most of his high school life alone. Although he has had more interactions with girls recently, it was only a temporary thing.

Rin’s comment may have been influenced by Haruya’s loose appearance.

“In front of the person herself, saying something like ‘cute’ seems like you’re just used to it.”

“I just spoke honestly though.”

“If you say things like that lightly, you’ll be disliked.”

Rin, who was looking down with half-closed eyes, conscientiously warned him. 

However, although Rin denies it verbally, she probably understands her own cuteness as she does not deny that she is being approached by men. 

Therefore, Rin should not be shaken by Haruya calling her “cute.”
