Chapter 01: Seemingly Helping a Beauty

It was Sunday, and as usual, Haruya Akasaki took the time to style himself with wax, piercings, and other accessories before leaving the house in his fashionable attire, which he would never wear to school.

Since Haruya’s high school was a decent academic school, rules prohibited things like wax and piercings, and as such, anyone caught breaking them would stand out as a troublemaker.

Therefore, if he wanted to be fashionable, he could only do so on his day offs. However, Haruya was not a narcissist, and he didn’t just do it for self-satisfaction, like wanting to relieve stress from his everyday life.

He was starting to become more fashion-conscious lately, but he was not particularly good at standing out in the first place, and during his regular school life, he was more like a “shadowy male student” who blended in with the background. 

That was the real Haruya Akasaki.

“Wow…there are so many people today.” 

Haruya muttered to himself as he headed to the department store. It was crowded, probably because it was a Sunday. 

Overwhelmed by the number of people, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

(I should probably take the back route…)

He turned to a side street with fewer pedestrians. A few days ago, Haruya accidentally found an unofficial path on his way to the department store, and that became known to him as the “back route.”

However, he was still not used to the quietness of the path and felt restless as he walked along it. 

Suddenly, he sensed an uneasy atmosphere.

“Miss, you should definitely try modeling. Really, really.” 

A man persistently said to a girl who seemed to be a female high school student.

“…No, no thank you… I’m fine.”

As Haruya watched the scene with interest from afar. 

(Is he trying to recruit her or is it a new form of pickup?)

Haruya felt his heart flutter at the sight, something he had only seen in manga before.

“Don’t say that… Look, if you hear the details, you might change your mind! So why don’t we go to a nearby cafe or something and…”

“…I’m not interested.”

“I’m telling you~”

Looking at the situation calmly from the side, the man was being persistent and showed no signs of backing down.

However, although it was suspicious whether he was a scout or not, Haruya could understand the man’s feelings to some extent.

The girl had a fairly gal-like beauty with her linen-colored hair cut evenly at the shoulder line, silky white skin, and amber-colored eyes that looked like beautiful gem’s, exuding a sense of nobility. 

She had delicate beauty with a cute look rather than being simply “beautiful”. 

Haruya seemed to have decided to come to her aid, thinking to himself that he couldn’t just pass by without doing anything.

(As I said… I don’t have the mental capacity to just walk by that situation.)

“Uh, excuse me.”

“Hm? What do you want?”

The man responded, revealing a fierce expression when Haruya placed his hand on his shoulder. His blonde hair was carelessly styled, and his narrow eyes seemed to be evaluating Haruya.

(… Oh, he’s scary.)

He understood why the girl was trembling. Even as a man, he was confident that he would tremble if he was being pursued by this type of man. 

Nevertheless he kept staring into the man’s eyes without even flinching or trembling.

“…”

“……”

They continued to stare at each other for a few seconds. Although the girl’s gaze was somehow focused solely on him, he ignored it and still glared at the man as if he didn’t have any intention of backing down.

(Oh no…I was so brazen, but I have no idea how to deal with this situation and send him away.)

Although he didn’t show it on his face, he was inwardly grasping his head and felt like he was about to cry. 

His legs began to shake involuntarily, but it was the man who spoke first with a tremble in his voice.

“Hii…!”

“Huh?”

Suddenly, Haruya felt a strange sensation when the man made a ridiculous noise.

“If you have a boyfriend, then there’s no helping it. Sorry about that,” the man said, still trembling.

He then hastily retreated from the scene. 

Haruya, who hadn’t done anything in particular, was left speechless, wondering what had just happened.

(…What was that? Wait, is this some kind of prank?)

He thought, but the girl quickly denied his suspicion.

“Um, thank you very much!”

“Oh, no…I didn’t do anything.”

Although he wanted to show off and put on airs, he  really couldn’t do anything.

Haruya feels pathetic about himself. 

However, the girl is very sincere and denies Haruya’s words altogether.

“That’s not true! You were cool for not being intimidated by that scary person and keeping eye contact like a killer.” 

“Eh… ah, Aahaha.”

In reality, Haruya was just a scaredy-cat in front of the man, but being praised like this, he couldn’t be honest and just laughed it off.

“I’m actually really bad with men, having gone to an all-girls school, but… there are guys like you out there, huh.”

The girl mumbled in a low voice. It seemed a bit exaggerated, so Haruya immediately denied it.

“No, no, I’m not that great, really.” 

“…” 

“It’s dangerous for a cute girl to walk alone on such a narrow side street… Please be careful next time.” 

“Yes!”

The girl nodded vigorously and bowed her head. Haruya smiled wryly at her and left the scene.

He probably won’t have any further interaction with her, but he was left with a feeling of embarrassment.

(But, I feel like I’ve seen that girl somewhere before…)

With his cheeks slightly reddened, Haruya heads towards the department store, but eventually he will come to know that the “girl” he helped halfway today is none other than Sara Himekawa, a top-tier beauty in the same class.

TLN- Let me be clear, I had no intention of starting a new project, it was because of my editor… dem, so much wok, oh dem, anyway, me will finish “Sara Part” first, just 11 chapters, and think about the rest in the future, also this one’s getting LN, so you can hope for some illustrations and cover, though me still think this doge cover is best, anyway see you later!
