The Guy Who Messed Up Is Gradually Doing His Best - Chapter 33
♪~
“…Kirishima-san, your voice is beautiful. You’re a great singer.”
This is my impression after listening to Musicun at home. The lyrics are about a boy doll who suddenly appears and encourages and cheers up the injured girls. Just looking at the lyrics,
If you’re feeling anxious, I’ll stay by your side until your anxiety disappears.~
There are some slightly embarrassing phrases in it, but when I listen to the finished song as a whole, they don’t really stand out. In fact, it feels pretty good. Just my amateur opinion, though.
But, am I really going to sing this…?
I had never even thought about creating my own original song, so I’m a bit excited about it. To be honest, I want to avoid showing my face since I’m about to release my second song and gain explosive popularity as a male singer, which might clash with Sawakaze-kun.
I wonder if Kirishima-san has some reason too? I’ll ask her when I see her at school the day after tomorrow.
I started practicing while looking at the sheet music and lyrics sent from MAIN, but I don’t feel like I’m singing well, so I’m relying on the video.
It’s a video on how to sing well. I’ll check out the videos with high view counts uploaded by people who seem knowledgeable about the industry.
Speak using diaphragmatic breathing.
Be conscious of opening your throat.
Reduce air leakage.
Be mindful of the direction and distance when projecting your voice.
Etc…
“Hmm, I tried it a bit, but I can’t tell if I’m doing it right. Oh.”
I found something that seems easy to do.
Sing along to karaoke without a microphone, record it, listen to it, and repeat. The key is to do it within a range that doesn’t strain my throat.
Hmm. I’d like to try this out soon, but first, I need to completely memorize Kirishima-san’s song.

The next day ended with remote learning, telekinesis practice, and singing, and in the evening, Kaori-san came over.
It seems she wanted to know if I danced the folk dance well at the sports festival.
I don’t think it would have been better than MAIN. After all, Kaori-san made the side dishes for dinner.
Even the balanced bento I order for delivery gets boring if I have it every day. So, what did Kaori-san make for us? Yes, it was nikujaga.
It’s the second time, isn’t it? Huh, she doesn’t like nikujaga?
Oh no, did I have that face again? I didn’t mean to… well, maybe a little, but I really love nikujaga.
I always feel bad that I only offer tea, but she asks if I have rice? Yes, I have it right here. It’s properly milled, too.
Then Kaori-san put on an apron she had taken out from somewhere and quickly got to work in the kitchen. It seems like we’re going to eat together. Well, that’s fine.
“Thanks to Kaori-san, I was able to dance the folk dance properly.”
“I see.”
Kaori-san looked relieved. I just noticed, but she’s not in a suit today.
“Is it weird?”
Kaori-san is wearing a classy-looking dress with a light cardigan over it.
I didn’t notice it when she was in a suit, but her chest is quite large. If I’m not careful, my eyes will inevitably be drawn to it.
“I’ve never seen Kaori-san in casual clothes before, but it really suits you.”
“I’m glad.”
After that, while waiting for the rice to cook, we talked about the sports festival. I mentioned hugging the trophy and dancing the folk dance a total of six times, and she was surprised.
You really did hug them… I thought I heard Kaori-san mumble something like that, but just then, the rice cooker made a sound that drowned it out.
I wonder if she wants a hug? I’d give her a hug right away (I’ve done it so much with first and second years that my sense of normalcy is all messed up).
After that, the two of us had dinner together. Kaori-san even made miso soup for us.
Dinner with someone is really nice, isn’t it? The nikujaga was also really delicious.
“Taketo-kun, what’s this?”
“Ah, that is…”
It’s a poster. A poster from when I was a model for the brand “Motivate.” It seems she noticed it was rolled up and standing against the wall.
There are about ten of these with different outfits and poses.
“If it’s not a bother… um, do you need a few?”
Since there was such a strong interest, when I showed just one, she asked for five.
I don’t have a hobby of decorating with my own posters, so I agreed right away.
“Thank you, Taketo-kun. I’ll cherish it.”
Kaori-san hugged me out of sheer joy. She realized it right away and let go, but her face was bright red. It’s nice to see someone so happy just because of my poster.
Kaori-san, whose face was bright red, finished cleaning up and said, “I’ll make it again,” before leaving, but I wondered if it was just my imagination that I felt a bit lonely after she left.
To distract myself, I listened to a song made by Kirishima-san. Somehow, I ended up in tears. It really is a good song.
