It seems that Kashiwazaki doesn’t like me very much. Honestly, I would probably feel the same way if I were in his position.
Seeing the class introvert being doted on just because he married the school’s idol—it’s no wonder it gets on his nerves.
Plus, I don’t really want to do a play either.
“By the way, I have a few suggestions for plays! Who has time after school today?”
A few hands go up.
“I’m not interested in helping with a play,” Kashiwazaki stated bluntly.
With the forced progress, the class ended with a bit of tension.
Twelve people stayed after school. Much fewer than I had expected.
The people who stayed were: Marin Shiozaki, Aoi Shiozaki, Osako Kiyohito, Umi Shichiya, Chisato Honjo, Yukina Sawashiro, Genta Ogata, Kosuke Nishizawa, Waka Ichinose, Mizuki Mizoguchi, Kikuno Ota, and Riku Ishino.
“Isn’t it kind of heartless that not even half the class stayed?” (Marin)
“You should be grateful that twelve people stayed. Kashiwazaki might have been rude, but he had a point.” (Chisato)
“Let’s just focus on what we can do now.” (Waka)
“Tell me the name of the movie Yamaguchi was in. I’ll watch it next time.” (Riku)
“Uh, no thanks.” (Aoi)
“It’s The Night at the Winter Mansion!” (Kiyohito)
“Hey, don’t just blurt it out!” (Aoi)
“Everyone, stop chatting aimlessly! First, watch this movie. It’s called Flowers of Vengeance.” (Marin)
Everyone watched the movie together.
It was about an hour and a half long, and everyone was completely absorbed in it. Though the film had the hallmarks of a B-grade movie in terms of visuals and production, the acting was on par with any mainstream movie, and the storyline was so compelling it could be considered a masterpiece.
◇After Watching
“That was amazing. Really interesting.” (Kosuke)
“Yeah, at first I thought it was kind of a cheap movie, but I got totally drawn in by the second half. This is impressive.” (Yukina)
The movie received a very positive response from everyone, but they all had the same thought.
“Isn’t this going to be really difficult to pull off?” (Kiyohito)
“…”
It’s not just about the acting. Condensing this hour and a half movie into roughly 25 minutes, recreating the props and scenery… There are numerous challenges to overcome.
“Should we at least decide on the roles?”
“Let’s start with the protagonist, Raiki Oma. Aoi will play him. What about the others?”
“I think Marin should play the classmate, Karina Awano.”
“Eh? M-Me?”
“You’re his wife, after all. Karina’s role is probably the hardest after the protagonist, and you’ll need acting guidance, right?”
“Okay, Kiyohito will play the villain.”
“What!? Me!? But the villain hardly has any screen time. Nice.”
“We’ll fill the rest with roles like the sister and the teacher… In some cases, people might have to play multiple roles.”
Thus, we roughly decided on the casting and called it a day.
