ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
The day after the school orientation. The car stopped once again in the dimly lit parking garage.
“Usami-sama, we have arrived.”
Sana, who was driving, informed me of our arrival. Inside the house, I made them call me Master and wear lewd maid outfits, but since it would be a bit pitiful for Sana and Yuri if they were seen by others outside—to say nothing of myself—they were dressed in black suits. I also kept their way of addressing me fixed as “Usami-sama” while outdoors. Given how the two of them were now, it didn’t seem like it would be a problem at all, but I was refraining for the sake of social appearances.
“I’m off then.”
“”Have a safe trip.””
Sent off by the two of them, I got out of the car and headed toward the elevator. When I held my smartphone over the elevator terminal, only the B2 button lit up.
So this is how they manage security and access…
I thought, impressed as I boarded the elevator. The elevator doors opened as I reached my destination on the second basement floor. After stepping out, I waited for the doors to close as a test and then held my phone over the terminal. None of the floor buttons lit up, and the doors didn’t open. Just as my homeroom teacher, Haga, had said, this place was like a cage designed to keep men from escaping. When I entered the classroom, there were about seven male students present. It seemed I wasn’t the last one today.
“Good morning.”
When I offered a greeting, several of them immediately greeted me back. The reason the response to my greeting was slow yesterday might have been because it was the first day and everyone was nervous. As I sat in my seat, one boy approached me with a refreshing smile. He stood in front of my desk and took out his smartphone.
“Good morning. I’m Ao Kitahara. If you’re okay with it, how about we exchange contact info?”
This was the first time I had been spoken to by a male student since entering high school.
And he was even asking to exchange contacts.
“O-Oh. I’m Yuuto Usami. Nice to meet you too.”
While returning a clumsy greeting, I took out my phone and opened the chat app. We proceeded to exchange our contact information.
“Thanks. Feel free to message me if anything comes up.”
Leaving behind those refreshing words, he headed toward the other male students. A group of about four had already formed, and they were chatting amiably. A moment ago, I thought I had made a male friend when we exchanged contacts, but it seemed he was simply exchanging information with every classmate. It was a little sad. Kitahara spoke to the male students who entered later as well and exchanged contacts with them, showing off his high level of communication skills.
I hope I can get along with someone eventually…
I thought as I waited for the teacher to arrive.
The teacher arrived. It wasn’t the homeroom teacher, but the Japanese language teacher. Apparently, there was no morning homeroom. When Kitahara, who was becoming the group’s coordinator, asked a question, it turned out that the male students only had afternoon homeroom. The Japanese teacher was kind, and the lesson proceeded in a peaceful, harmonious atmosphere. The atmosphere of the class was good, and it gave me a premonition that I could enjoy my school life from here on out.
It was now lunch break. To summarize the results of the lessons, the atmosphere had been good. The other teachers were all kind and didn’t have that strict aura while smiling like my homeroom teacher, Haga. However, the content of the lessons was mediocre and the pace was slow. One could say that studying at home was more meaningful.
I wonder if this is the difference in the learning scope between girls and boys.
The other male students didn’t seem to mind much. Everyone formed groups and went to the cafeteria. There was Kitahara’s group of four, two groups of two, and two people acting alone. One of those solo actors was myself, how sad.
When I entered the cafeteria, I saw it was built quite spaciously with many seats. There were male upperclassmen there as well, all eating their meals quietly. I had heard during yesterday’s orientation that meals for boys were free and we could order whatever we liked. Based on the way that was phrased, meals for girls probably weren’t free.
Since the girls’ meal situation didn’t have anything to do with me, I bought my meal ticket without worrying about it. The first-years who had formed groups were eating while chatting happily at the tables. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. There, I suddenly felt a sense of doubt.
The male students who were likely second or third-years were all eating alone. Most of them were at the counter, and even if someone was sitting at a table, they were eating silently by themselves. Only the first-years were gathered around eating while chatting. I couldn’t help but feel a certain sense of incongruity.

Chapter 9: Matching
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
I spent the lunch break after finishing my meal by slumping over my desk alone. Since I hadn’t had any male friends in elementary or junior high school, I didn’t know how to socialize with them. I and the only other loner had returned to the classroom quite early. I thought about trying to strike up a conversation, but the other person was giving off an “don’t talk to me” aura, so I couldn’t bring myself to do it. After slumping there for a while, the other male students returned to the classroom, chatting amiably.
Only two days have passed, how do they get so close so quickly?
Since the lunch break was almost over, I lifted my head and stared blankly ahead just as the homeroom teacher, Haga-san, walked in. Her eyes, staring at us without expression, felt cold and ruthless.
“The fifth period will be time to find a matching partner. Please find a partner by the end of this period and move promptly to the breeding rooms on the first basement floor.”
Do the boys effectively only have classes in the morning?
With classes only in the morning and that kind of curriculum, the gap in academic ability between us and the girls would likely keep widening. Since I was told there was no problem with not attending morning classes, it seemed I needed to give that some thought. That aside, it was no exaggeration to say I had come to school today specifically for this, so I was looking forward to it. I felt a heavy mood in the air around me, but I ignored it, took out my smartphone, and launched the app.
When I pressed “OFFER,” a list of girls appeared. The number was quite large, and it looked like it would take a considerable amount of time just to look through everyone. There were quite a few offering the minimum points of 500,000P. The offers varied quite a bit between 500,000P and 1,000,000P.

These were the female students who caught my eye. First, the 500,000P minimum offer was the most common, mostly from first-year students. There were second and third-years offering the minimum as well, but generally, their offers were a bit higher. Also, the “Lineage/Family” column contained information about their homes. Ordinary households were naturally the most common, but there was a variety, such as daughters of company presidents, local government officials, or religious leaders. There was also an “Other” column, mentioning things like Student Council members or S-Class…
Wait… What is S-Class?
The orientation guide said girls were in Classes A through C and boys were in Class D. Given that there were no mentions of Classes A through C in the “Other” column, it looked like it represented something special. Looking around the classroom, the groups that had become friendly were showing each other their phones and discussing various things; none of them seemed to have any questions.
I wanted to ask the teacher, but if I was the only one who had an offer from an S-Class person in the “Other” column, I was worried about being found out by the class and having people say things to me, which made it hard to ask. I scrolled through the list, agonizing over who to choose.
I decided on a partner for the breeding practical. When I tapped the person, a message appeared saying to move to room B1-12 by the start of the sixth period. It was currently the middle of the fifth period, but I wondered if it was okay to move now.
“Please move promptly once the matching is complete.”
The homeroom teacher, Haga-san, suddenly spoke to the class. The information that a match had been made must have been sent to the terminal on her desk. The other male students in the class seemed to still be choosing, and they looked surprised by her sudden announcement. Since she told me to move promptly, I stood up to leave. The gazes of my classmates pierced through me as I suddenly stood up. Feeling awkward, I left the classroom as if fleeing from their stares.
I left the classroom and headed for the elevator. Since the destination was B1-12, there should be a Room 12 on the first basement floor. When I held my smartphone over the elevator terminal, only B1 lit up. Naturally, the other floors did not. I pressed B1 and boarded the elevator. In a few seconds, I reached the first basement floor.
When the elevator doors opened, the hallway was lined with many rooms marked with numbered plates. Besides the numbered rooms, there was a security room. I walked down the hallway and entered the room marked with the number 12.
The interior of the room was like a simple hotel. There was a large bed in the center, and only a glass-walled shower room and toilet in the corner. As I walked through the room, I felt a presence and looked to the side to see a woman in a black suit and black sunglasses standing there.
“Whoa!”
I let out a surprised cry. The woman did not react at all. I thought she might be a mannequin and approached her. But since her body swayed slightly with her breathing, there was no doubt she was alive. She didn’t react even when I got close, nor did she respond when I waved my hand in front of her sunglasses. Thinking I’d give it a try, I reached my hand toward her chest, but my wrist was gripped firmly and then immediately released.
“Ah, sorry.”
I was terrified. She actually gripped me with a lot of strength. The way she stubbornly refused to utter a word was eerie. As if escaping from the woman in the black suit, I moved from the corner of the room to sit on the bed that sat in the center. She looked nothing like the person I matched with.
Who on earth is this person?
I waited for time to pass while feeling incredibly awkward.

Not bad, but the main character’s attitude towards women is terrible.
