Episode 35

“Sakuragi-san, thanks for waiting.”

“It’s okay. I’ve not been waiting for that long anyways.”

Going home with Sakuragi san had already become a daily routine.

However, recently things have changed a little bit.

“Karen, I’m really sorry for making you wait this long every time.”

“Nope, it’s all okay. It’s just me wanting to wait this long.”

After walking a short distance from the meeting place in school with Sakuragi san, we would join up with Karen completely away at a distance from my school. 

This was the new change in my recent routine.

The three of us, Karen, Sakuragi-san, and I, walk home together.

This time is enjoyable and comfortable for me. 

Of course, going home with friends like Kisaragi is also fun.

A few tens of minutes after the rendezvous. While continuing our trivial conversation, we reached a fork in the road from where Sakuragi-san and us would go in separate directions to our homes.

“Well, that will be all for Today. See you tomorrow.”

“Uh, un. See you later. Yuugao-kun.”

When I finished up with the farewell with Sakuragi san, as I was about to start walking again,

“Ah, Nii-san, speaking of which, there was something I wanted to talk to Kaede about.”

Karen said that almost abruptly.

I feel like this has happened before, but I guess there are things girls want to talk about amongst themselves.

“Okay, but don’t be too late. I start getting worried about it.”

“Yes, I understand. Oh, but please don’t start to do any housework now, okay? I’ll be home as soon as I’m done talking.”

As expected, Karen almost cried when I did housework the last time, but this was a problem in itself.

Won’t Sakuragi-san start thinking on the terms of me being the worst kind of guy forcing his younger sister to do all the housework?

“It’s so nice for you. You can cook dinner for Yuugao-kun and even take care of him every second.”

“That’s the benefit of being his younger sister’s, after all.”

This woman who was facing me right now. 

Yes, this very woman who calls herself as Yuugao-kun’s younger sister. 

“So, what are we talking about Today? The end of that man? Or is it about the end rites you left to my hands, of that handsome boy (*snicker) from that soccer club who hurt Yuugao-kun before?”

“Well, that’s part of it, but this time it’s different. This is rather a talk about both of our futures. Moreover, the future will greatly impact even Nii-san at that.”

An important talk involving the future of Yuugao-kun?

Don’t tell me, is she seriously trying to cross spears with me keeping Yuugao-kun in mind?

If by any chance that’s the case… Should I just kill her normally?

“Fufu, no. It’s not as dangerous as you think. If I were to really take that case at hand, I wouldn’t do something as stupid as declaring war and rather take care of you quietly and swiftly.”

“… that’s about right as well, huh.”

“Well, I can’t talk about those complexities in a place like this, so let’s meet on a set another day. Well, how about this coming Sunday?”

“I don’t have anything planned, so it’s fine.”

“Fufu, it’s okay. It’s not a bad deal for you if you think about it carefully after hearing it. Besides, it’s almost summer vacation.”

“… Is it?”

“Well then, see you again tomorrow.”

Saying that she starts walking back towards that house.

This Sunday, I feel like something in my life will kick start right because of this.
