Chapter 9: Infinitely Collecting <Commencement Swords>
The following day, I once again headed toward the Fassil Dungeon. My goal was to clip through the boss chamber and get another clear reward. There was no way for someone with an Attack Power of 10 to kill any monsters, so this was the only way for me to earn money.
I was somewhat scared, but given that it was my third time doing this, things went rather smoothly.
As soon as I blocked the Werwolf’s claws with the brand new knife I purchased yesterday, it shattered and I was blown away.
“<Evade>!.”
I used my skill and once more managed to clip through the wall and enter the reward room. I opened the treasure chest and…
“That’s strange.”
Inside the chest was yet another <Commencement Sword>, the supposed first clear only reward.
While entertaining the notion that I had pulled off some miraculous odds, I headed toward the exchange to trade in the sword for cash. Just to be safe, I went to a different exchange this time so as to avoid any suspicion.
The day after, I went to the Fassil Dungeon again for another clear reward.
“Oh my god.”
I muttered to myself when I laid eyes on a third <Commencement Sword>. At this rate, I would begin to think that the <Commencement Sword> was some sort of common drop that anyone could get. Of course that was wrong, because if that were the case, every adventurer would be swarming this dungeon. The only adventurers I’d seen up till this point were beginners who had yet to complete the Fassil Dungeon.
I once again cashed in my <Commencement Sword> at another exchange.
The next day…
Today is my fifth day at the Fassil Dungeon. Again, without defeating the boss, I clipped through the dungeon wall and opened the reward chest to receive another <Commencement Sword>.
“There’s no way this is just luck…”
With the <Commencement Sword> coming out so many times, I couldn’t help but think that maybe I really was just a lucky guy, but…
“Maybe since I didn’t kill the boss, it’s not completed as a ‘Clear’?”
It was the only thing I could think of. Afterall, the reward room and the clear reward are usually only available after you’ve defeated the dungeon boss. It was starting to seem like the trigger for the second clear was killing the boss…
If that was the case, just how many times would I be able to receive the first clear reward?
I felt a shiver go down my spine.
There were many dungeons out there, and each dungeon had a clear reward. For the Fassil Dungeon, the only benefit of the first clear reward was selling it for money, but the more difficult the dungeon was, the more valuable the reward would be.
“I can make money like nothing!”
I could become filthy rich just by selling the first clear reward!
This was fantastic!
I was excited! I had always thought that <Evade> was worthless, but who would have known there was such a huge secret!
From that day on, I delved into the Fassil Dungeon many times and traded in the <Commencement Sword> for cash until one day…
“Yo Henry! I heard you’ve been doing pretty well for yourself these days.”
On the way to the cash exchange with a <Commencement Sword> in tow, I ran into Guillermo, the man who had kicked me out of the party.
