Chapter 7: The Second Wall Clip

I headed straight for the boss chamber. I encountered numerous Wolf Kobolds on the way there, but since I knew I couldn’t kill any of them, I ignored them and went on my way. 

After running for two hours, I arrived in front of the boss chamber.

“My hands are shaking…”

I had been forced to enter the boss chamber when I entered yesterday, but today, I was going in of my own volition.

I mustered up the courage to open the door.

“GUOOOOOOOO!”

The dungeon boss, the Werewolf, welcomed me with a loud roar.

I held up my knife in fear, thinking that it was going to be much more difficult to purposefully get struck in a specific direction. It’d be pointless if the Werewolf were to hit me with a weak hit, so I had to aim for a strong blow and I had to angle it so that I’d get struck toward the area where the reward room was.

I carried out my plan, trying my best to manipulate the Werewolf. The reason why I had such a hard time yesterday was because I had grown tired, so it should be easier today since I was full of energy!

Are you getting frustrated?

I could somewhat tell what the Werewolf was feeling by looking at its face. I’d been avoiding all of his attacks without going for any attacks of my own, and it might look like I was dodging just to tease him.

Since that was the case, let me take advantage of your frustration.

“Okay.”

I said while stepping away from the Werewolf. I deftly twirled the knife around my hands while saying,

“Come get it!”

How was that? Did that get the message across?

“GUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”

The Werewolf howled,  the provocation having worked. The Werewolf dashed toward me in a straight line.

This was it, I was sure.

If I block this attack, I’ll be thrown back toward the wall shared with the reward room with a tremendous amount of force.

I heard the knife shatter into a hundred pieces. It was pivotal that the knife blocked the Werewolf’s claws, otherwise it would gouge out a large chunk of flesh from my body.

With that impact, my body flew toward the wall.

“<Evade>!”

I yelled right before I hit the wall!

I felt it― I felt my body getting sucked into the wall and I landed in the reward room.

“YES!”

I threw my arms up in complete excitement.
