*SPOILER TITLE* The Disengage Skill "Evade" Turns Into a "Wall Clip Bug" Under Specific Conditions! When I Clipped Through the Dungeon Wall, I Was Able To Collect An Infinite Amount of First-Time Clear Rewards and So My Stats Skyrocketed! - Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Desperation
“Boohoo… boohoo.”
I was currently walking through the dungeon, bawling my eyes out. I had just shaken off the Wolf Kobold that had been chasing me. Although I can’t defeat any monsters, I still had a good reason for coming to the dungeon. Normally, an adventurer would need to kill monsters in order to earn cash. By killing a monster, it’d drop an item that one would be able to sell.
So if I can’t kill any monsters, how am I going to earn any money?
That would be items in treasure chests. The items you’d find in a chest are typically very valuable, so I figured I’d explore the dungeon and look for those chests.
“I can’t find anything at all…”
I muttered to myself.
Treasure chests were incredibly valuable, and it was said that the chances of finding one in the Fassil Dungeon were slim to none. This was a dungeon frequented by droves of adventurers, so any and all chests were likely to have already been swept clean.
If the dungeon were a little bit more difficult, the chances of finding a chest would be higher, but if that were the case, the chances of me dying would have skyrocketed as well.
Since this dungeon only had Wolf Kobolds, I was able to explore the dungeon and safely escape any monsters that had set their sights on me.
If I were to die, then my comatose sister at home would also die. There was no leeway for me to take any unnecessary risks.
“Why can’t I find anything, ahhhhhhhhhhh.”
I yelled out of frustration. I couldn’t find a single thing despite having now arrived at the boss chamber.
“I worked so hard to get here…”
I had encountered many Wolf Kobolds and had managed to escape from them all, but I couldn’t find a single treasure chest.
“I don’t even have any food to eat today, what am I going to do…”
I sat down and cried.
There was no way I would be going into the boss chamber. Once you enter, you aren’t allowed to leave until the boss is defeated. It was the rule under which the dungeons operated. Entering the chamber despite being unable to inflict any damage was the same as committing suicide.
“It’s no use, I’ll just go back home.”
I had made it this deep into the Fassil Dungeon without a single scratch, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get out.
“Awoooo!”
I head the howl of a Wolf Kobold from somewhere far off in the distance. It had probably wandered around until it stumbled upon my location, but I wasn’t afraid. They were simple creatures and I could run away as I had been doing up till now.
“Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo! “
“―that’s impossible!”
A multitude of Wolf Kobolds were howling in unison. It was already too late for me. Dozens of these beasts had banded together to attack me as though they were of one pack.
No way, did they all follow me here?
“W-w-what do I do!?”
It was true that I had encountered many wolf kobolds along the way, but I had managed to escape. I thought I had succeeded in giving them the slip!
I had no idea that all the wolf kobolds I had encountered along the way would relentlessly chase me!
It was likely that a countless number of them had come this far.
“””Grrrrrrrrrrrr!””” (TN: Three sets of quotation marks to indicate that multiple monsters are growling”
The next thing I knew, a large number of Wolf Kobolds had surrounded me, blocking any avenue for escape. To my back was the boss chamber, blocking another avenue for escape.
“A-ahh… ahhh…”
“”GRAAAAAAAAAAWH””
The Wolf Kobolds attacked me at the same time.
I’m finished.
I’m one hundred percent dead-deado.
These thoughts flashed through my mind for just a moment.
NO, I CAN’T DIE! I HAVE A SISTER TO SUPPORT!
“EVADE!”
I screamed to the point where I felt like my throat was going to explode.
Like that, I activated my only and weakest skill.
My body began to move on its own, knowingly avoiding the Kobold attacks that were coming from all directions.
The <Evade> skill automatically performs the best action to avoid incoming attacks, but not only that, your body’s speed will also increase, though only for a moment.
In that moment, <Evade> decisively chose the best move to make in a desperate bid to survive.
It was a very simple movement.
My body walked backwards. Without taking into consideration the boss chamber, my body simply moved backwards.
“It’s the weakest skill after all, isn’t it? Ahhhhhh.”
I shouted.
The door shut as I entered, leaving me trapped in the boss chamber. Normal monsters in a dungeon don’t enter the boss chamber, which naturally meant that I had successfully dodged all of the Kobolds’ attacks.
“GUOOOOOOO!”
A roar rang out from behind me. It was the master of the Fassil Dungeon, the Werewolf. (TN: The author uses 人狼ウェアウルフ aka Jinrou Werewolf aka Werewolf Werewolf. I’m pretty sure the author meant Wolf Kobold Werewolf, but for the sake of simplicity, I will simply dub it as ‘Werewolf’ or ‘The Werewolf’)
It possessed a giant body that towered over me at more than two meters tall.
I wouldn’t be able to move unless I killed it, and given that I had no means to inflict any damage, you could describe this as a desperate situation.
“This can’t be happening to meeeeeeeeeeee!”
My screams echoed through the air.
