Chapter 11: The Demon King Supposed to Lose, Exposed in Seconds
Elsia’s army is composed of members pulled from the Sky Army, the Sea Army, and the Land Army.
The Kingdom of Alvera is a coastal nation, and with no aerial forces, the Sea Demon Army and Sky Demon Army would be significant threats to them.
While Elsia is a novice when it comes to military operations, Balzac has arranged for an excellent adjutant.
I think the name was Maron.
She’s a young succubus who usually helps with creating erotic outfits.
Thanks to Maron, Elsia can manage the army without issues, making them a formidable force against the Kingdom of Alvera.
With such a capable adjutant that even Balzac approves of, I feel reassured.
Now, let’s focus on the task at hand.
“Dang, I’m getting nervous! You feel the same, right, newbie?”
“Yeah.””
I was standing in formation with a squad from the Land Army, holding a sword I usually don’t use.
A few kilometers ahead lay the border town of the Kingdom of Alvera, our target.
This town, Avan, has long defended against the Demon King’s army.
The town is surrounded by high walls, with dozens of large ballistae installed on top, and soldiers swarming all over.
Watching the town from a distance, the lizardman with red scales next to me was fidgeting nervously.
At first glance, they looked like a bipedal lizard with a monstrous appearance, but they were an intelligent race that spoke the demon language fluently.
Whether they were male or female, I couldn’t tell, but they were my senior (or so it was said when I joined Elsia’s army as a newbie) in the Demon King’s army.
Unlike the usual self-centered and unruly demons, this one was surprisingly caring.
They insisted that formal language was too awkward, so I spoke to them casually, as I would with a close friend.
Their friendly smile reminded me of the dog I had in my past life.
This lizardman’s name was Ryukshu.
They were considered an ace in the Land Army and one of the top fighters among lizardmen.
“Hey, look, newbie! It’s the Queen!”
Ryukshu pointed.
Standing before thousands of troops, with the town of Avan behind her, was Elsia.
“Everyone, it’s war. Though, it will be more like a one-sided massacre.”
She was completely different from the Elsia who usually snuggled up to me.
Dressed in a crimson gown that looked like battle attire, her eyes were filled with hatred and the joy of finally having the chance for revenge against her despised enemies.
Elsia began to relay the battle plan.
“In one hour, the Sky Unit will neutralize the enemies and large ballistae on the walls from above. Meanwhile, the Sea Unit will infiltrate the town through the underground waterways and open the main gates from the inside. After that, the Land Unit will storm the town. I’ll be joining the Land Unit as well.”
It was a simple and straightforward plan.
Each unit had clear objectives, with the details left to individual judgment.
It might seem a bit rough, but many demons have trouble remembering complicated plans. In a way, it’s a suitable strategy.
Then Elsia added one more directive.
“Oh, and feel free to do as you wish with the humans in the town. If possible, I’d be delighted if you could make them suffer more.”
This was her hatred towards the Kingdom of Alvera.
As a former human, it’s complex, but it shows how real Elsia’s hatred is.
Now, there’s one problem.
Can I kill humans without hesitation?
To be honest, I think I can.
Aside from close ones like Elsia or Mana, I somewhat view the humans of this world as game characters.
So, yes, I think I can do it.
“Alright everyone, do your best. And take this as a gift from me. —Holy Aura.”
At that moment, Elsia used a light magic spell that significantly boosted everyone’s physical abilities.
Wow, this is amazing.
It feels like my abilities have increased by 30%, no, maybe even 50%.
“…Huh?”
Then Elsia looked over at me. I quickly lowered my head.
She stared intently for a moment but then returned to her position.
“The Queen is really beautiful, isn’t she? Hey newbie, did you know?”
“Know what?”
“That beautiful Queen… I’ve heard she makes quite the sounds when the Demon King is with her every day. Heard it from a maid who works at the castle.”
“I-Is that so?”
“Yeah. And recently, the new second queen has been joining them. There’s even a bet among the Demon King’s army on who will bear his child first.”
“…///”
How embarrassing.
Well, both Elsia and Mana like it intense, so I don’t hold back either.
I never thought even the lower-ranked soldiers would know about it.
“Alright, that’s enough chit-chat. Once the Sea Unit opens the town gate, it’s our turn, the Land Unit. Be ready.”
“Got it.”
As I was preparing to attack Avan with the Land Unit, someone called out to me from behind.
“You there. Yes, you.”
“Hm? What is it?”
“I-Idiot! This person is the adjutant to the Queen!”
Ryukshu hit me on the head.
You just hit the Demon King, you know. But I don’t mind.
Is this girl the adjutant?
She looks like a young succubus… Her name was Maron, right?
As I stared at Maron, she looked visibly shaken after seeing Ryukshu hit me on the head.
“!? N-no, it’s fine. I’ve heard he’s a newbie, so some disrespect can be overlooked.”
“Oh? Ah, r-right. You’re lucky, newbie. You could have lost your head.”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
“Um, the Queen is calling for you. Go see her immediately.”
It seems Elsia wants to see me.
“Hey, newbie? What did you do?”
“…I have no idea.”
“Idiot! If you upset the Queen, the Demon King might kill you!”
I guess if I wanted to, I could kill myself, but there’s only one of me, so no problem.
However, from Maron’s reaction, it seems Elsia figured it out.
With curious eyes on me, I headed towards Elsia’s tent.
“…What are you doing, Lord Diablo?”
“Right now, I’m just a regular demon named Adelo.”
“That’s not what I meant! Ugh, you saw me at such an embarrassing moment…”
It seems Elsia is embarrassed that I saw her in full battle mode.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of. I enjoyed seeing you so enthusiastic.”
“…Really. But why are you here?”
“I thought I’d do some leveling up. There’s no better place for it than a battlefield, right?”
“What are you planning to do by getting even stronger?”
“…Well, it’s kind of a hobby.”
It’s like strength training.
No matter how much you train, if you love it, you keep training.
In my case, I’m addicted to the satisfying feeling of leveling up.
There’s no other big reason.
If I had to say, it’s also to better enjoy my time with Elsia and Mana, but there’s no need to mention that.
“Well, since it’s you, Lord Diablo, I won’t stop you… but please don’t overdo it, okay?”
“Of course. And be careful not to get hurt, Elsia.”
“Fufu, alright.”
Elsia smiled sweetly.
Damn, she’s cute. I want to push her down and have some wild fun right here.
…Hmm. Should I cast a soundproof spell and start here?
Maybe the excitement of the war is getting to me, and it might be a good idea to calm down a bit now.
Just as I was thinking that…
“Your Majesty! S-sorry to interrupt! The Sea Demon Unit has opened the main gate of Avan from the underground waterways!”
“Earlier than expected! Order the Land Unit to charge immediately!”
“Yes!!”
Looks like there’s no time to start anything now.
“Well, let’s go.”
“…Fufu, yes, Lord Diablo!”
Elsia and I left the tent and charged towards the town of Avan with the Land Demon Unit.
So, it’s the town of Avan.
Avan is also the hometown of some targets in “The Saintess and the Five Heroes,” who are now in the royal capital.
If I remember correctly, some target’s sister, who played the role of a villainess and often interfered when Elsia and the target were getting close, is supposed to be in this town.
Maybe I’ll look for her.

Afterword: Just a little side story
Elsia can still use light magic even as a vampire.
If you thought, “It’s funny that they heard the moans,” “The villainess… What!?” or “The afterword is really short,” please leave your comments, bookmarks, ratings, and reviews.
