I cannot be sure about those other two. Unless All I can do is  pray that they’ll somehow manage manage the rest themselves. Moreover, unless we both are able to leave this place which is reeking so much of blood, there’s nothing that we can do.

Stacks of bodies piled up like trash. Swords scattered around the place. It’s like hell like place here. Perhaps, this is what the dungeons are supposed to be like. We’ve just been soaking in lukewarm water until now.

In front of us was an Ancient Goblin, a superior kind of goblin even among goblins. Bloodstains are soaked into its wooden club which it is holding. And next to me, Elise was staring at me with a pale face.

“I’m sorry. Because of my fault we got in all this trouble.”

“That’s really so. If I wasn’t here, Elise would have been alone and challenging the boss.”

I firmly scold her. Obviously I would. After all, she let her emotions take the better of her. But if only scolding and apologising was enough to make everything fine, things would be all okay. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t seem to work that way.

“Since we don’t have a healer with us. So, a single blow means instant death.”

“And since we don’t even have Mirai with us. If there’s no healing for our even minor injuries, we will be off to that pile of corpses over there after sometime. That’s not funny at all.”

Saying that, Elise readies her sword. Perhaps due to the tension that she has to make sure that she is not even hit once, her legs are shaking slightly.

“Elise, luckily, I have one healing potion with me. If it is just one hit, that’ll be still fine. So, give it your all, I’ll do the same too.”

I feel like a huge flag has been raised, but I stand by to assist Elise as she rushes forward. Elise confronts the goblin head-on. She parries and deflects the wooden club swung down at her from a place many times above her own height. Even though she can’t attack back, but she was able to create an opening.

As the goblin’s balance was disturbed, I slide under its legs. With all my might, I cut its right leg. The goblin’s right leg is torn off and flies through the air.

However, when I cut off its right leg, my speed slowed. The goblin, let out a huge war cry, and swung the wooden club towards me as it was collaping. This is just inescapable.

“Sorry, I can’t esca… Ugh!”

In the next moment, a heavy impact struck my right leg. It snapped. I didn’t need time to realize it. It going to come again, I thought, and it doesn’t seem that I can move with my broken right leg. Next time, it will probably hit my vitals. If I get hit there, I won’t be able to endure it.

I closed my eyes as if giving up.

However, what first came to me was the warm sensation of Elise’s embrace. After that, I was sent flying towards the wall as if being repelled off. Elise protected me as I hit the wall, I could hear a low groan coming from behind.

“Elise? Are you alive? Hey! What are you doing? If you stay like this, you’ll…”

“In the first place, it was a quest I wanted to take. It’s only a natural outcome. Use the healing potion on yourself. After that, please save those two stuck above. Even if it’s Ariann’s level of injury it could be completely healed right?”

Saying that, she laughed. There’s no time to relax. If I cut off my broken right leg, it should recover over time, but on doing that, there would be no hope on prevailing. But if Elise stays like this, she will certainly… bleed to death.

“Baka, if we are going to die, we’re going to do that together, aren’t you my partner.”

I forced the recovery potion into Elia’s mouth. She took it in her mouth as if she accepted it. It’ll be all right with this. That should stop the bleeding as well. I’ll take care of the rest. She giggled lightly and let go of her consciousness. Not even having the time to reminisence about the sensation that was still present on my lips, probably the reason my face felt hot and red as I faced the goblin was due to the excitement of facing the Goblin in this battlefield.

“I don’t like it, but I guess I will use it. My blessing.”
