- The Case Where I had S with My Girl Friend Three Times
- Chapter 8 - Ah, You Can Say No?
Ah, You Can Say No?
It’s now lunchtime.
“Touya, will you go to the cafeteria today?”
“Yeah…I’m thinking buying a Yakisoba pan today.”
“Then let’s go together.”
“Yeah.”
As I take out my wallet out of my bag, my phone in my pocket vibrates.
‘Let’s eat together today.’
I got a message from Iko.
“Sorry, I’m not going to the cafeteria today.”
“Perhaps, could it be…”
Both of my friend grin and look at me.
“…get going now.”
“I’m so jealous! You’re good friends with Miyoshi-san!”
“Let me know about it later!”
I leave the classroom and go to Iko’s classroom.
It seems that Iko is talking with some of her friends.
“Iko-san, would you like to have lunch with us?”
“Thank you for inviting me, but sorry, I’m going to have lunch with someone else today.”
“I see. That’s too bad then.”
“Can we invite you again sometime…?”
“Ah, yeah…”
The girls that invited Iko to have lunch with them go back to their desk.
Then Iko comes out of the classroom.
“What’s with that look? You look at me as if it’s very unusual for me to be invited to have lunch together.”
“I’m not looking at you that way. Do they usually invite you to eat lunch together?”
“Well, sometimes. But I’m the type of person who eats slowly by myself.”
“Eh, what am I then? Air?”
“You’re really annoying, you know? What? Can’t I have lunch with someone I like?”
“……”
She said such things casually again!!
“It’s not like you can’t…but it’s good to eat with them once in a while. They often ask you to have lunch with them after all.”
“Do you know the reason why did I go to all the trouble to call you, Touya?”
“D-Don’t tell me…”
“Yeah, they’re really sharp when it comes to relationships.”
It’s been a while since the last time I had lunch with Iko…I’m really looking forward to it.
After looking for a quiet place to eat our lunch, Iko and I ended up on the rooftop.
The weather is nice today.
Two bentos are placed in front of us.
Yes, Iko made a bento for me.
“Here you go.”
“Ohh!!”
Iko opened the bento and show me what’s inside.
It smells really appetizing.
Onigiri with grilled salmon on top. Stir-fried kinpira with beef and shimeji mushrooms, potato salad, tamagoyaki with crab sticks and scallions, and mechikatsu which I told Iko I like.
“There are so many side dishes! You must’ve worked so hard!”
“Not really. I’m going to eat mine now.”
I am not so insensitive as not to notice that the contents of Iko’s bento is different to mine. She doesn’t seem want me to touch her bento though, I should leave her be.
“Thanks. Then…let’s eat!!”
“Enjoy.”
It takes a few seconds to decide which to eat first, but I decided to start with the tamagoyaki.
“Hmm! Delicious!!”
It’s very fluffy. When I bite into it, the scallions and crabsticks inside it are very tasty. It’s a perfect combination.
“Is that so? Aren’t you overreacting?”
“I’m not overreacting. It’s really that good!”
With my appetite ignited, I continue to eat more of the side dishes.
“Hmm! It’s really good! Delicious!”
“…I wish I can confess my one-sided love for you sooner.”
“Hmm? What did you say?”
“I didn’t say anything. You wouldn’t understand it anyway.”
My chopsticks stopped as I suddenly remembered something.
‘You have some scratches on your back.’
‘It’s just normal scratches, isn’t it?’
I better not mention about the scratches on my back. I shouldn’t make Iko worry…
“Ah, that’s right. Did your friends asked you about it?”
“No, they didn’t ask me anything.”
Iko seems flustered.
Hmm? Did something happen to Iko as well?
I try to concentrate on eating my lunch, because if I let my mind wander, I’m sure I’ll remember what happened yesterday again.
“Well, let’s not let them know about it… And also, let’s call it off, shall we?”
“Hmm? Call it off?”
After finishing my lunch, I call my friend to an empty classroom.
“What!? She said no!?”
He is so shocked that his mouth opened wide.
“W-Why? Touya, you agreed to help me!!”
“I did agree to help you, but you missed the point that Iko is the one who makes the decision to go out with you or not.”
“…what do you mean.”
“She refused.”
I guess he really like Iko that he fell on his knees when I said so.
“Why oh whyyy!!!”
He screamed on the floor.
He is so amazing to be so single minded and honest with his feelings. On the other hand, I…
“Because…I don’t want to.”
““!?””
A voice suddenly came from behind.
I turn around and see Iko standing there.
“H-Hey Mita…stop it.”
This guy hasn’t given up on Iko yet…
“I have no more business with you! Nice to meet you, Miyoshi-san. My name is Ken Mita!!”
Oi, this is terrible.
“Hello. So, what does Mita-kun want from me?”
“Umm…I’m wondering if you would go out and have some fun with me…I mean, I like you! Please go out with—”
“No thank you.”
“—me, eh…?”
“As I said so, I’m sorry, but I don’t want to go out with you. I don’t want to start dating with someone I don’t know, so it’s a no.”
Iko’s words made him fall down on his knees again as if he had just gotten a final blow. As soon as I think he has given up, he stands up and starts talking again.
“Y-You’re right… We haven’t got to know each other yet… So why don’t we get to know each other better! I hear you hang out with Touya a lot! Why is this guy good enough for you and I’m not!?”
He points his finger at me as he said so. Is this guy really that stubborn? I feel like Mita is going to hate me after this. Maybe that’s how blind and desperate he is for the person he loves.
Iko sighs at his words.
“Don’t you understand, I’ve told you my answer. Are you really that insensitive?”
Hmm? Did Iko just tell him he’s insensitive? That Mita?
I look at Mita who is trembling and shaking.
“That’s right, I’m sorry! Thank you for your reply!! Damn it ahhhhh!!!”
Mita ran off with a satisfied tone of voice.
“What’s with that guy…”
“He wanted to hear it from me. It seems like I understand him better than you, Touya.”
“More than me?”
“Because you didn’t understand the meaning of our conversation earlier.”
“Well…”
“Huh, seriously…that’s why I’m so pissed with your insensitivity. Or do I have to tell you physically again for you to understand?”
I can’t say anything to that.
“Well, it’s fine. Touya is just that insensitive. It’s nothing new. Let’s go home together after school.”
“Ah…yeah, let’s go home together after school.”
Rather than scorning me about it, it would have been quicker for Iko tell me the reason directly.
This guy is a true idiot.
