Chapter 12 : Unknown Presence?
“…Fufu~”
A woman’s voice echoed in a certain place.
“So, onee-sama was in a place like that… huh?”
The woman held a magazine in her hand, which contained the latest, accurate record of recent events.
The magazine’s title read, “The Elf has connections to a Dragon!?”
The article mentioned that a female elf, who led the guild in the kingdom’s capital city, was in an intimate relationship with a man who rode a dragon.
“Who is this man…?”
Though wearing a ridiculously shabby mask and suit, it was clear that this individual was male.
“Not only does onee-sama let him touch her body, but she also lets him ride on her back…”
The woman decided that this was something she needed to confirm.
“Phew, I guess that’s enough of the ice bath.”
As if stepping out of a hot spring, the woman stood up.
Her voluptuous body had been immersed in a sea filled with floating ice — a place where the word “freezing” felt like an understatement, as a blizzard raged around.
A membrane enveloped the woman, shielding her from the snow and wind, though it couldn’t disguise the icy water’s chill. Yet, her body showed no signs of adverse effects.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been in the human world… Well, now that I have mastered the magic to take human form, I suppose I should go.”
She smiled mischievously, sprouted wings from her back, and in the blink of an eye, transformed from a human into a dragon. A dragon of myth… Perhaps she had some connection to Mira, but no one knew for sure yet.
◇◇◇◇◇◇
“Good job, Minato.”
“…Thanks.”
I nodded at my master’s words, lying down and breathing heavily. This was because I had just been engaged in a mock battle with my master.
“Not only are you skilled in magic, but also in swordsmanship… Truly impressive, Elysia.”
“Thank you. Hearing such praise from you, Mira-san, boosts my confidence.”
While Mira-san watched, my master, who had sparred with me, showed no signs of fatigue… Her stamina is truly impressive.
Compared to her, my pathetic state seemed even more glaring. However, over the past few years, instead of letting this get me down, I had come to admire her greatness, using it as a motivation to improve.
“I was prepared for you to tell me not to go that far, Mira-san.”
“It’s true that if I were there, Minato wouldn’t need to fight… But if Minato wishes to grow stronger, it’s my duty as his wife to respect that choice. Besides, Elysia, you wouldn’t understand.”
“What?”
Uh-oh… Things seemed to be getting tense… Choosing to stay out of it, I kept silent until they calmed down. This place is really peaceful, though.
‘The place where I always train with my master… So tranquil, with the sound of birds chirping and the crystal clear lake.’
It was a secluded spot in the forest, a bit away from the capital city. Only an elf, with their high affinity with nature, could find such a place. From here, one could see the sun in the sky, but from the sky, it appeared as an unending sea of trees.
“Minato.”
“Yes?”
“Take off your clothes.”
“…What?”
Take off my clothes… Take off!?
I naturally wanted to protest, but before I knew it, I found myself waist-deep in the shallow part of the lake, with a towel wrapped around my waist.
‘This… this is…’
Mira-san and master were both sitting on either side of me with towels wrapped around their bodies.
Mira-san’s actions were bold while my master was slightly blushing and looked embarrassed, showed no signs of leaving.
“If you’ve sweated, you should wash it off. While a bath at home is nice, natural water like this isn’t bad either, right?”
“Well… you have a point.”
Indeed, this felt extraordinarily refreshing after exercising. But… being surrounded by women with seductive bodies on both sides made me incredibly nervous. Taking a small deep breath, I calmed myself.
“I never thought you’d allow Minato to join us like this.”
“Humph, it would be lonely to exclude him from this pleasant experience. Besides, I don’t mind if it’s you.”
“That is…”
I’m just here to listen… just to listen.
“By the way, Elysia.”
“Yes?”
“How have things been since then?”
“Well, I have received several letters.”
Alright, I’ll listen to what they are saying.
I slightly ignored Mira-san, who had closed the distance, focusing instead on my master’s words to clear my mind.
“None of them are worth replying to. To put it bluntly, invitations from the Rekt Kingdom, which possesses wyverns, are just attempts to secure a connection with dragons. Many people want to establish such ties.”
“Master…”
I couldn’t help but interject.
Ever since then, master had been bombarded with bothersome questions about dragons. Even some guild members sought such connections… But thanks to Saria-san and Jack-san’s deft handling, it hadn’t become too overwhelming. Still, I knew I was causing my master trouble.
“Would it be best to eliminate them all?”
“Please, don’t.”
Mira-san laughed, indicating it was a joke. And before I knew it, my master had snuggled up to me, holding my arm.
“Hey, get away from my husband.”
“No.”
“…Tch.”
The tense atmosphere returned… But for some reason, my anxiety was suddenly dispelled.
“…..?”
“What is this…”
Something stirred within me… and apparently within Mira-san too.
Mira-san and I gazed at the distant sky… It seemed like something was approaching.
