“Thank you, Lean.”

I finally returned to my own kingdom after visiting several allied nations. One day, Lean brought me a letter. It turned out, the letter carried urgent news.

“Is something the matter, Your Majesty?”

“It seems there’s an outbreak in Snow Kingdom, the kingdom I was scheduled to visit next. They are telling me to postpone my visit because of the disease outbreak.”

Lean asked, seemingly flustered. My emotions must had been written all over my face. It seems I couldn’t hide the anger I had to myself. 

“Sorry… I was just angry at myself…”

“No, please don’t blame yourself.”

“No, no… This was one of the things I had to do…”

The advancement of the medical world was necessary to save people’s lives. It was safe to say I had neglected the advancement of medicine because I was too preoccupied with developing new entertainment for this world. Well, to be fair, I had put some resources into the medicine field, but the medicine research hadn’t produced any good results so far.

Lean and I then tried to search for solutions for the outbreak in Snow Kingdom, but nothing came to our mind. 

Something… Something… I felt like I was forgetting something important… Medicine… Right, speaking of medicine…

“-?! Of course…!”

“Your Majesty?”

“Lean, I’m going to head to the former Altair territory now.”

“Right now?!”

“Yes, right now! We need to act as soon as possible…!”

“I-I understand! I will start preparing the necessary arrangements for your departure from the castle.”

“Please do. In the meantime… I will go see my mother.”

“Yes.”

While Lean was making the preparations for my departure, I headed to Mother because I finally remembered something. The existence of the basement that she had told me about.

“Oh my, what’s the matter, Your Majesty?”

“Mother! How can I get to the basement in our old home?!”

“My father’s study, huh… I understand. I will go with you, Your Majesty.”

“Please do!”

And so, we quickly headed to the former Altair territory, the place we used to live.

Chapter 90:  Meeting Up With Wuxian After a Long Time Not Seeing Her

“This place hasn’t changed much. It’s still as peaceful and calming as ever.”

We finally arrived at the former Altair territory, now known as Wuxian territory. Coming back here felt nostalgic, probably because I grew up here.

We stepped into the town and..

“””El-sama?!”””

“””Your Majesty is here?!”””

“””El-sama!! Welcome back!”””

Upon noticing my arrival, the townspeople gathered around. They all welcomed me warmly and among those voices, one particular voice stood out.

“Your Majesty! We’ve been expecting you!”

It was Wuxian. She approached me and knelt down in front of me. Ever since I became a king, I had entrusted the lordship of this town to Wuxian. 

“Sorry for coming here all of a sudden, Wuxian. I need to head to my old mansion right away.”

“Yes. I’ve heard about your arrival. We’ve maintained the mansion so it’s always ready for Your Majesty’s return.”

“Thank you, Wuxian. Also… I think I’ll keep needing your help while I’m here.”

“Leave it to me.”

Keeping our conversation to the minimum, we immediately headed to the mansion I used to live at. Thanks to Wuxian’s attentive care, the mansion was still clean without any dust in sight. Following what Mother told me, I headed straight to the library. 

“-?! This must be it…”

A door appeared when I slid one of the bookshelves in the library to the side. This must be the entrance to a secret underground passage. I never imagined something like this would be hidden down here. I thought these kinds of things only existed in manga and anime. 

“Yo-Your Majesty, what is this…?”

“Mother said there’s an entrance to my grandfather’s study. She has only been to this room once too, Wuxian.”

“I-I see… What could possibly be hidden inside here?”

“According to Mother, there are some sort of machines and books in here. She told me that I might be able to understand them somehow.”

“I-I see…”

“Anyway, let’s go down there and find out what’s there. We can continue our conversation later.”

“Yes.”

I didn’t know what we would find down there either. 

I opened the door and carefully descended the stairs with a torch in hand. At the bottom of the stair, there was another door. I used the key my mother gave me to unlock it and entered the room…

“”Thi-This is…””

Wuxian and I muttered in unison. We lit up the room and scanned the inside. True to my mother’s words, this room was filled with all sorts of machines and books. 

“What are these machines… I’ve never seen anything like them…”

“Me neither… Let’s start by looking through the books.”

I said to Wuxian as I picked one of the books on the desk. I opened the book and began reading it.

“-!!!”

Surprised, I quickly picked another book. I flipped the pages and…

“Yo-Your Majesty, is this some kind of secret code or something?”

Wuxian, who was reading through one random book, said that to me. Her question was to be expected though. She definitely couldn’t read the book. In fact, maybe no one in this world could read this except… The reincarnators. Why? Because the books were written in Japanese and English.
