ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
King Rainrose finally returned to the royal capital. Upon hearing the news, Clara quickly made her way to the king’s chamber. The trace of battles still remained in the chamber. It was only to be expected though. Most of the marks were still fresh, very recently made.
Clara’s gaze was fixated on King Rainrose. He was tracing the chipped parts on one of the pillars with his hands. King Rainrose must also be feeling the same way as Clara.
“Your Majesty!”
“Clara!”
Clara was about to kneel before her king, but King Rainrose interrupted her and hugged her tightly instead. This tight hug reminded them both of days gone by.
“Yo-Your Majesty! Wha-What if someone were to see?!”
“I don’t care! Do you know how worried I was?! You… Do you know how much I still love you?!”
“…Your Majesty.”
“Please, call me Will for now. Just like back in those days…”
“Will…”
The two had been in love since they were young. Clara was supposed to become the next queen. Everyone assumed she would. However, tragedy befell them. Despite connecting their bodies multiple times even before their engagement, there were no signs of pregnancy. Will didn’t mind though. He never thought Clara was the problem. He always thought something was wrong with him.
The same could be said about Clara. Clara believed she was the one with fertility problems. Hence why she decided to break off the engagement with King Rainrose.
Will tried to persuade Clara, begging her to become his queen. However, Clara never yielded. Clara belonged to a family renowned for their wisdom. Although the paths of the queen and the prime minister might be different in nature, but their devotion to the king was the same. Hence why, Clara chose to become the prime minister of Rainrose… For the sake of the man she loved.
“….And why are you doing soliloquy on your own over where, Tine?”
“Tine-sama?!”
Flustered, Clara quickly tried to distance herself from Will.
“Eiiii! Stop with that soliloquy already!”
“I can’t help it!! You two are just so passionate! Tehe!~”
“The heck with that ‘tehe!~’…. A queen, no, someone of your age should not be doing something like that!”
“Fufufu~ Your words are lacking their usual bite, Clara-san~”
“-?!”
“So? What brings you here?”
“I was thinking about my future. About what I’m going to do with the rest of my life.”
“The rest of your life? Sounds so ominous.”
“The rest… Of your life?”
The two people voiced their confusion in unison.
“Please, can you stop with that live commentary… So? What about it?”
“You’re going to abdicate, right, Your Majesty?”
“I see, you’ve noticed my intentions…”
“-?! Your Majesty?! Wha-What’s the meaning of this?”
“Well, this is something I’ve been planning for so many years actually.”
“But…”‘
“Besides, Rainrose technically had already fallen, right?”
“Because… I failed to protect it…”
“That’s not true.”
“But…”
“A new era has come. From now on, it’s time to pass on the baton to the future generations. El and Tia will shape the future. I only wish to play with my grandchildren and also… Spend the rest of my days with you.”
“That’s…”
“Can I? Please, I’ve already done enough, right? Can I spend all of my remaining days with you, Clara?”
“I… I…”
“Come on, Clara-san. Join the bandwagon. It’s time to be true to your hearts, just like Tia and the others. It’s time for you to spend your time by the side of the person you love.”
“Clara?”
“…Yes, Will.”

Chapter 82: The Strategist
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
I was still staying in Rainrose’s royal castle. The reconstruction of the castle town was progressing smoothly thanks to the support from the allied nations. It seemed there were various things they wanted to discuss with me once the reconstruction of the town was complete. It must be about my marriage with Tia or something like that.
As for me, I was called by Lean today. According to what I had heard from Tia, it seemed Lean was going to become the next prime minister. I was told that she took up this position so she could help me in the future. But.. That basically meant I would become the next king, right? Well, given that Tia was the only princess in this country, I couldn’t exactly scrape that possibility off once I got married to Tia. I didn’t really want to become a king. I couldn’t stop myself from wondering if I was fit to be a king or not…
“Ummm~ Is Lean here?”
“Yes. Please, come in.”
While pondering about this and that, I eventually arrived at Lean’s room. She had been given a room in the royal castle. I entered her room after receiving her permission. The scent of books and ink filled the air. The bookshelves were filled with a lot of books and the desk was overflowing with so many books as well.
“I’m sorry. My room is not feminine at all..”
“No, no. That’s not true. I think this room is really interesting. I can see how dedicated you are to your studies and besides, you are very intelligent, just like what everyone says.”
“I’m glad to hear El-sama say that.”
Lean gave me the impression of someone that you would meet at a library in my previous life. She was the serious and striking beauty type with a sharp glint in her eyes.
“So? What is it that you want to talk about?”
“Oh, right. My apologies. Please, take a seat first.”
I sat down as per her instruction.
“Just a moment please. Umm… It should be around here somewhere…”
Lean seemed to be looking for something.
“I can help you looking for it. Whatever you’re looking for.”
“No, no! This is something that only I can find…! Anyway, please enjoy the tea on the table and relax!”
“Alright..? Just let me know if you need my help.”
“Thank you… Now then, please wait a moment.”
With that said, Lean started looking through the scattered papers on the floor on all fours. I was watching her while sipping tea, but…
This is not good… I don’t think I should keep on looking… Why? Well it’s because Lean is wearing a miniskirt…
Lean was so engrossed in looking for something that she didn’t notice how enticing she looked. Every time she moved, her miniskirt kept getting pulled up.
Should I say something…? What would everyone else do?! Just watch in silence to avoid making things awkward?!
Just when I thought I should say something… Something else happened that stopped me dead in my tracks.
Why? Well… Ahahaha… Well, it’s because… Her miniskirt was suddenly flipped in one ago, exposing herself completely. Sure, if she had been wearing shorts, I wouldn’t freeze like this. I would say something. However… There was no short. Nothing at all even. When I said exposing herself ‘completely’, I really meant it.
She wasn’t wearing any underwear. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. In fact, I already scrubbed my eyes since I was so flabbergasted and yet, the vision remained the same. Lean really had no underwear on. What should I say at times like this? What could I possibly say to someone who wore a miniskirt without underwear on?! I couldn’t. I didn’t have the bravery to say anything.
I mean… When her miniskirt was completely flipped up like that, wouldn’t she normally notice already?! Of course she would, right?! However, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that Lean might be the ditzy type that wouldn’t notice that her miniskirt was flipped off…
And finally… Lean found the thing she had been looking for.
“Ah! I found it! I found it! El-sama, this is it! Eh?! Kyaaa?!”
She turned to me, but as if she noticed something was amiss, she quickly fixed her skirt.
“Did… Did you see?”
Lean said with a blush adorning her cheeks while looking up at me. Did I see? No, no, that wasn’t the main problem here! You should’ve put on some shorts first! Or underwear AT THE BARE MINIMUM!! You were embarrassed about the wrong thing!!!
“Umm.. This is… I mean.. Kyaa-!”
Then, Lean suddenly tripped over nothing and fell toward me. I instinctively grabbed Lean to prevent her from falling.
“Ah! Thank you, El-sama!”
“N-No. It’s fine. This much is nothing…”
“I’m sorry! I will get off you right… Eh?!”
Lean suddenly grazed a certain part of my body.
“El-sama, are you…”
A certain catchphrase kept playing in my head.
“Grow big~ Grow big~♪”
True enough… A certain part of my body did grow big.
“As the subject of El-sama, I will take responsibility for this.”
Then, I realized.
“Could it be… This tea is laced with something?”
“Eh… Ehehehe~ Did you find out? Tehe!~”
I see… So everything was part of Lean’s strategy. Tia probably was in cahoot with Lean as well. Then I… I fell right into Lean’s trap.
