“I might be mistaken, but… When I was fishing a bit further than usual, I saw smoke in the distance… Do you happen to have a map with you?”
I handed the map I had to the elderly woman who was working as a fisher.
“Let’s see… This is where we are… Oh! It was here! I think I saw smoke coming from this direction! This area in the sea…”
There was nothing marked on the map on the place this elderly woman pointed at.
“Well, there’s nothing marked on the map, but I believe there’s a small island there… Probably… Around here?”
-?! Thank you very much! I will go check it out!”
“Sure thing, dearie. Be careful, okay?”
Finally we acquired a glimmer of hope.
Six months ago, we found out the mastermind that ordered El-sama to be taken away was the new king of Ambition Kingdom. Rainrose Kingdom immediately formed a coalition with the other nations and in just three months, Ambition Kingdom disappeared from history. But… We still had no idea of El-sama’s whereabouts.
“I-I certainly had my eyes on a man named El… I was planning to keep him as a stallion to strengthen our nation, bu-but…! Those people never brought El to me!”
Those were the last words of Ambition Kingdom’s last king. After that, we continued to search for El-sama relentlessly. We then discovered the ship that El-sama had boarded was caught in a storm. The ship had sunk and… El-sama… The worst possible scenarios kept replying in my head over and over.
“El… I believe he’s still alive, so… Everyone, please believe in him too.”
We were the ones that should be encouraging our Madam, but we ended up being cheered on by her instead. Heartness Kingdom searched for the western side of the continent where the ship was supposed to be caught in the storm while we searched the eastern side. We focused on asking the people who worked at sea, searching for the smallest shred of information.
And so… While holding onto a small glimmer of hope, we headed to the place on the map the elder woman told us about. It was truly a small island. I could understand why this island didn’t appear on the map. But… We could see smoke rising from the island. Someone was there.
Maria-sama was staying in the ship just to be safe and we stationed our soldiers along the coast. I approached the smoke from the west side of the island while Letty, Rinrin and Leila approached from the east side.
Concealing my presence, I approached cautiously. The snowstorm obscured my vision, but it also provided me with a good cover. However, no matter how careful I was being, the sound of small branches, gravel and the thin layer of snow crunching under my feet couldn’t be avoided. Upon closer inspection, I came to know that the smoke was coming from a small, obviously man-made house. Someone was definitely inside there.
Then… I sensed movement from the inside and a moment later, someone came out from the house.
“..Who?”
I rushed over and hugged El-sama tight. There was no mistaking it. This was El-sama. Although his voice was a bit different now and his hair had grown longer, but this person was definitely El-sama.
“EL-SAMAAAAA!!”
I held him tightly in my arms. I had missed him so much. The moment El-sama slipped from my hands… I had been regretting that moment all this time.
“Ah… I’m so glad… I’m so glad you’re safe!”
However, we couldn’t talk for long. El-sama seemed to be struggling for breath.
“Haa… Haa… Miinya, I’m sorry… Before I lose consciousness, I have an important thing to say… Inside that house, there’s someone very important to me. Please… Take care of…”
He said so to me before he lost consciousness. He had a terrible fever. I quickly called out to Letty and the others. I entrusted El-sama to Letty and the others so they could bring him to the boat first.
“I’ve heard about you from El-sama. You don’t need to be on your guard. Can you come out now?”
“You knew, huh…”
The woman that came out of the house… She was the same woman that…
I see… So that’s why El-sama…
“Alright. Let us go now! I’m worried about El-sama’s condition…”
“-?! Can I?! Are you sure?!”
“El-sama said you’re someone important to him. I choose to trust you with those words alone. Also, if it’s alright with you…. Would you tell me your story?”
“Alrighty!~”
I took her back to the ship and we quickly set sail. Just like the rest of us, Madam was also attending to El-sama. All of us nursed El-sama with a heavy heart, fearing he might not make it given how high his fever was. Also… There was one more thing on my mind. The way this woman was staring at El-sama… Could it be.. This woman had fallen for El-sama too? Just how many women was he going to lead astray….

Chapter 45: Reunion on the Ship
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“Nngh… Where… Am I…?”
Upon waking up, the first thing that I saw was.. Of course, an unfamiliar ceiling. But then, almost immediately..
“El?”
I heard a nostalgic and gentle voice. I turned my gaze toward the direction of the voice and…
“…Mother.”
“El…! El!!”
My mother hugged me while I was still lying on the bed. She pressed her cheek against me, covering me in her warmth. A small stream of tears flowed between our cheeks.
“I missed you… I missed you so much, El.”
“I missed you too, Mother.”
“I knew you must be safe and sound, but… I was really, really worried, you know?”
“Yeah…”
“El… El… My El…”
I truly had made my mother worried sick about me. It was clear to see she had been waiting for my safe return. Family was really a wonderful thing, huh? She was warm. I let myself basked in her warmth for a while… WAIT! No!! There was something I needed to address right now!!
“Mo-Mother!”
“What is it, El?”
“What about Marin?! There was a girl on that island with me!! She’s important to me! If Marin wasn’t around I-“
I was certain I had told about Marin to Miinya right before I lost my consciousness… Miinya should’ve understood, right?! Marin should be okay, right?!
“Is it Marin-chan? If it’s Marin-chan…”
As she said so, my mother lifted the upper half of my body and…
“That girl is standing over there. Look, her face is blushing red… Fufu~”
There, by the bedside, stood Marin dressed in a maid outfit. I tried to stand up but while doing so, I staggered on my feet but instead of the floor, I was enveloped by a soft sensation instead.
Marin had caught me before my mother could. She was moving faster than my mother, who was beside me. She held me in her arms, buying my face in her chest. When I lifted my face from between her cleavage, I could see Marin staring at me. Her eyes were glistening with unshed tears. We then hugged each other tightly, celebrating our safe escape from that uninhabited island.
“Thank goodness… Marin…”
“Me-Me too… I’m glad El is awake…”
“It’s all thanks to you, Marin… Thanks to you, I was able to meet Mother again. Thank you so much.”
“I’m the one that should be thanking you though…”
“Marin…”
“…El.”
“My oh my… I can see that she is really important to you, right El?”
“Well, of course.”
“-?!”
“What a quick response… Mother is going to get jealous, you know?”
Knock knock!
Someone was knocking on the door.
“Come on in!”
“Pardon the intrusion… Oh!”
The ones that came into the room were Miinya, Letty, Rinrin and Leila. However… For some reason, everyone looked shocked and frozen in place. Look at Leila for instance. At first, her eyes widened in shock, but then her cheeks were puffed out. She looked clearly upset at something. What was going on here?!
“I see… It seems we need to talk with Marin about a certain topic, huh…”
Miinya said. What a certain topic though?!
“Hm. I’ve heard about the things that transpired on the island. From today on, I will also sleep naked with El-sama.”
Letty said, seemingly sulking a bit. What was she talking about though?! The things that happened on the island were beyond our control!
“You leave us with no other choice-aru!”
There were plenty of other choices though, Rinrin?!
“El-sama…”
“Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-What is it, Leila…?”
There was a palpable pressure in the air. It seemed Leila had changed?!
“From today on… I will also… Be-Be-Be-Be naked!!”
Leila, if you were so embarrassed by it, you really didn’t need to say that, you know…
I-In any case…
“Everyone… I’m back.”
“Welcome back, El!”
“Welcome back, El-sama!!”
“””But… I’m El’s number one!”””
“Wha-What?! Oi! Marin!! Can’t you read the room?!”
“Marin-chan.. I’m El’s number one, okay?”
“Ma-Madam… Even if it’s you… I will never yield!”
“Mother, you too… Just what are you talking about…”
“I knew it. It seems we must settle things with Marin first.”
“Miinya?! Can you not jump into the conversation right now?”
“Just tell me the place and I’ll be there…”
Setting me free from her embrace, Marin then glared at Miinya.
“Hm… I shall take this chance to savor El-sama…”
Not one to let go of a great opportunity, Letty pulled me close to her and rubbed her cheeks against me. Was Letty always like this?!
“Letty! That’s unfair! I want to do it too-aru! Eh? Ahh-!”
“I won’t give it up! The spot by El-sama belongs to me!”
Without any of us noticing, Leila appeared on the opposite side of Letty and rubbed her cheeks against me too.
“As El’s mother, the two of us will spend quality time together. A mother-son time, so to say.”
“””DENIED!!”””
“Wha-What?! I’m his mother, you know?!”
Anyway… I somehow managed to come back home alive. Right now, I was on the ship. They said we should arrive at Rainrose Kingdom by tomorrow or in two days. It seemed we would need to stop by the castle first before returning to our estate. I wondered if Tia and Lance were doing well. They must be worried sick too, but of course… I needed to apologize to Tia first.
