That day, the imperial capital, Glorious, was shaking.

Rubbing his eyes, Kanata opened them in response to the call. 

Mira and Anise were peering into his face from a fairly close distance, which took him slightly by surprise.

Why were the two of them here? Though he was still groggy, he quickly grasped the situation.

Looking out the window of the airship, unfamiliar buildings came into view.

It was the imperial capital, Glorious. The destination Kanata had come to for the event.

The two pulled him out of the airship.

The moment he stepped out, the noisy mechanical sounds characteristic of a country excelling in military industries reverberated through his eardrums.

“So this is the heart of the Empire…”

The city’s size surpassed not just Fortuna, where he had been before, but even the Kingdom and Pricipality’s capitals. Kanata was stunned.

Even though this was the heart of the Empire, it was still just one part of its territory. The Empire’s lands, expanded not just by Rosalynde’s hand but also by her ancestors, were vast. Everyone knew this, but currently, the Empire was steps ahead of other nations in terms of power.

“Well then, shall we head to the castle first?”

“Castle… Where Rosa is?”

“… Is it alright for me to come along too?”

Considering it would be odd not to proceed with all three of them at this point, Kanata decided to head to the castle with Mira and Anise.

However, the path to the castle was long, so they planned to stop a carriage along the way.

“No one would have expected Haishin to be here.”

“Indeed. Bringing Kanata-sama in this manner seems to have been a good idea!”

“With the airship’s arrival, Rosa-sama must have sensed that Kanwasa is here. She’s probably holding back the urge to fly over to us.”

For Kanata, his interactions with Rosalynde were minimal, but the thought of imagining her like that was somewhat amusing.

From the standpoint of Kanata and Mira, being accompanied by Anise wouldn’t raise any suspicions if they stayed in a room in the castle as planned. After all, Athena, who was coming as an envoy from the Principality, was also accompanied by a commoner, Cid.

Then, just as they were about to make their way to the castle, a certain group appeared at the airship port. 

Leading the group were nobles, accompanied by several knights. They were investigating each passenger that descended from the airship.

Kanata, who stood at a distance, couldn’t hear the conversation, but Mira picked up on it.

“It seems they are looking for Haishin-sama. It’s amusing that they think they can find him this way.”

“Heh… No one would readily confess, but their instincts are good in this situation.”

Though it was a haphazard approach, the fact that Kanata was actually present suggested that the noble had good instincts. 

However, would Rosalynde approve of such a method?

Kanata decided not to inquire any further.
