“Seriously, Haishin is here?”

Haishin’s sudden appearance had stunned the townspeople below the castle. The knights had been deployed en masse, suggesting something significant was underway, but no one had expected Haishin to show up.

But why was Kanata walking beside Haishin?

“So this is the place you frequent?”

“Yeah. After school, I often grab a bite here. Everything they make is delicious and amazing!”

Kanata and Haishin… There was no doubt that the two were the same person.

Of course, it was information that ordinary people wouldn’t know. Even among the livestream viewers, many considered Kanata unremarkable. No one would ever realize that Haishin was actually Kanata.

No one at the scene heard Kanna’s murmur. And even if they had, no one would have understood its significance.

However, what Kanna had noticed was indeed the answer. It was the trick that made it seem as if there were two Kanatas.

As Kanata moved through downtown, he mentally cheered on Mira, who was walking beside him disguised as Haishin.

“I–I can’t afford to fail… for Kanata-sama’s sake…”

“You’re letting it slip, Mira-san.”

Maria gently patted Mira’s shoulder as if to cover for her. Seeing this, Alphana grabbed Kanata’s hand reassuringly.

“Don’t worry, Kanata-sama. Everyone is so entranced by Haishin-sama’s appearance that a small slip-up will likely go unnoticed.”

“… You’re right.”

With the solid support from Maria and Alphana and the tremendous influence that even Mira’s voice could have as Haishin, Kanata smirked, realizing there might be no need to worry at all.

So, why had they organized this event? While part of the aim was to invigorate the shops run by commoners, Kanata also wanted to express his gratitude and thoughts using his own voice, not behind a mask.

“Mira, when you become Raven, you can change even your aura to that of a man, right? Therefore, I’d like you to impersonate me as Haishin and cooperate.”

“Me? Really?”

“I won’t ask you to do anything difficult. I’ll tell you what to do as the situation requires. Can I count on you?”

“Y–Yes, understood!”

Such was the exchange that had taken place.

Though there was a noticeable height difference between Kanata and Mira, Mira could adjust her height and even her demeanour through disguise, making her perfect for the role this time.

(… Besides, by doing this, the possibility that Haishin and I are the same person is somewhat eliminated. I can’t be overly optimistic, but it certainly makes it easier for me to move around.)

That was another aim.

Why was it Kanata who was chosen? Why did he fit in so well? If someone questioned that, there was nothing he could do. But given his innate acting skills, he was convincingly portraying someone who had just met Haishin for the first time. So, it should be fine.

“Haishin-sama, there are many shops lined up over here.”

Haishin-sama… Calling himself that felt strange, but Kanata decided to focus on accomplishing the purpose of today’s outing.

The vendors kept conducting business despite Haishin’s appearance. Many people had stopped in their tracks, making him feel a bit guilty, but he first approached a shop selling fresh vegetables.

“Haha… Sorry for surprising you, Auntie.”

Kanata never bought vegetables for cooking but often stopped by to chat, so he was familiar with the old lady running the shop.

Explaining the purpose of today’s live broadcast, Kanata kept talking with a smile.

“This place sells fresh vegetables. Although I don’t buy them because I live in a dormitory, people who shop here always seem satisfied.”

“Hou? These vegetables do look well-grown.”

“Right? And it’s not just about the fresh vegetables. Auntie is also really charming. If someone like her recommends something, you’d definitely want to buy it.”

“… Maybe I’ll(私) come and buy some next time.”

Kanata felt a slight chill, but no one seemed to have noticed it.

The auntie, praised for her charm, bashfully tapped Kanata on the shoulder, but she didn’t seem displeased at all. 

A quick glance at the comments showed a variety of opinions. Some praised the look of the delicious vegetables, while others wondered how such quality was maintained. Kanata felt a sense of accomplishment all at once.

“Shall we move on to the next place?”

“Yes, lead the way.”

It was a first-time experience for Kanata, but having watched similar videos on TV and the internet in his previous life came in handy. 

Sometimes he exaggerated, other times he was solemn… By varying his reactions, comments questioning who Kanata really was also appeared, but there was no point in worrying about that.

Without revealing that Haishin was actually Mira, the livestream progressed smoothly. Finally, it was time to visit the shop owned by the old man, who had inspired Kanata to come up with this project in the first place.
