Even until the very end, Kanade had a smile on her face.

I embraced Kanade tightly as she clung to me. 

We stayed like that for a while, but when Kanade lifted her face, she was still smiling… and then she moved away from me and returned to Sumire-san.

After talking a bit with Sumire-san, I watched as they left in the car.

“I’ve gained such a cute little sister, truly♪”

From now on, Kanade will surely continue to have a connection with us, even more so than before. The outcome wasn’t exactly what Kanade had hoped for… That’s why I’ll continue to be the brother she desires… I’ve engraved that in my heart as something important.

Kanade, sitting in the passenger seat, was simply looking at the scenery. 

Although she reacted when her name was called, she didn’t say anything in particular… She just kept staring at the view in silence.

Sumire is Kanade’s mother… Therefore, it’s only natural that she noticed Kanade’s uneasiness.

“To Onii-san…”

“Yes?”

“I confessed to Onii-san.”

“…I see.”

With just those words, Kanade didn’t say anything else, but Sumire could still understand.

She was aware of the feelings her daughter held, and she had always thought that if Hayato reciprocated those feelings, she would entrust her daughter to him… But she had anticipated this outcome, or rather, she had a strong intuition that it would turn out this way.
