The Carnivorous Maidens Living with Me - Chapter 7: Balls and Names
Chapter 7: Balls and Names
Sofia Kisaragi
How does it feel having your name called?
It’s not something that can be summed up in a single word.
The situation, the person, the atmosphere, the clothes, the season, their gender, the anger, sorrow, joy.
Each scenario brings different feelings and interpretations.
And I know this applies to everyone, having your name called by the one you like, it’s exhilarating, isn’t it?

Kiin-koon-kaan-koon
The bell rings, signaling the end of class, but I’m still lost in a dream.
He spoke to me.
He said my hair was pretty.
Since he showed up late and just greeted me, we haven’t yet talked.
To be exact, I’ve been frozen since, face buried in my desk, unable to move.
Some kids head to club activities, others to part-time jobs or to hang out.
One by one, everyone leaves the classroom.
Now it’s just us—me and him, alone.
Teku-teku
Footsteps approach my desk.
“Hey, stalker girl, wake up. School’s over.”
He says that the second he reaches my desk, and I snap back without thinking.
“Huh? I’m not a stalker, I’m a love watcher!”
“What the heck is a love watcher? Anyway, Kisaragi, were you serious about yesterday?”
“About what?”
“You know…”
“You mean the deep kiss?”
I grin mischievously, and his face turns bright red.
“Who’s mouth is spouting off that nonsense?!”
“This mouth is saying it. Nfufu. Or rather, the mouth that gave you that kiss.”
I giggle with a playful teehee.
When was the last time I let my emotions out like this?
Am I smiling okay?
“It wasn’t a kiss! Well, okay, it was, but that’s not what I mean! I’m talking about… you know, us… dating or not dating!”
“Dating? Sure! Let’s go to my place then!”
A done deal~♪ Nfufu.
“N-N-No, that’s not what I meant! Also it’s too soon for that!”
“Nishishi! Too soon, huh? Got you to admit it!”
“Listen to me, stalker girl!”
“That’s it!”
I point my finger at him sharply.
“What?”
He looks confused, so I let my feelings spill out.
“Can you stop calling me ‘stalker girl’?”
“It’s kinda true, though…”
“Even if it is!”
“She just admitted it.”
He sighs, pressing his temple, then changes the subject.
“Fine. What should I call you then?”
“Sofia-sama.”
I puff out my chest, and he gives me a “what’s wrong with her?” look.
“How about Stone King of the Sofia?”
“What’s with that weird name?! It’s like full-on chuunibyou! No way! Plus, tweaking ‘stalking’ into ‘stone king’ ticks me off. And ‘of the’ makes no sense!”
“Hahaha!”
“Why are you laughing, jerk!”
I screech, but he waves his hand like he’s calming a kid.
I swat at him for a bit, but when I settle down, he speaks gently.
“So, seriously, what should I call you?”
“…S-Sofi.”
I glance up at him, and he flinches.
After making a dozen faces, he swallows hard, takes a breath, and says it clearly:
“Got it… Sofi.”
Kyun!
My heart skips a beat.
“Okay, then you can call me by my na—”
“I’m calling you Virgin Limp-Dick Guy!”
“Huh?! Who’s a virgin with a limp-dick?! I’ll rip your boobs off, Stone King!”
“Hah! It’s true, isn’t it? Your first kiss was yesterday, so no way you’ve gone further with anybody else!”
It’s the truth.
“Your balls are probably all floppy anyway! Go grip your stick every day or something.”
“Guh…”
I think it’s nice we can casually throw around dirty talk like this.
We fall silent for a good ten seconds.
“Say something back!”
“Ugh… this is why you’re such a kid. What a pain.”
He lets out a dramatic sigh, like he’s on some overseas shopping site.
I glare, annoyed, and parrot him.
“A kid?”
I don’t totally get what he means.
“Yeah, a kid. Sof—cough—Stone King, yesterday was your first kiss too, right?”
“Just say Sofi! And ‘first kiss’… fufufu.”
His wording cracks me up, and I laugh naturally.
“S-Shut up! But by your logic, that means you’re inexperienced too, right?”
“Well…”
Of course I am.
“Bullseye.”
He smirks.
“Gross! This is why virgins suck!”
He nods, satisfied that I didn’t deny it.
To keep him from controlling the pace, I rapid-fire:
“Listen up! Like I said yesterday, I’m claiming your virginity. That’s final!”
“Do I have any veto rights?”
“Say that in your sleep, limp—”
“Sofi-san, you’re so ice-cold. Are you a demon? A devil? Oh, a stalker!”
I glare, and he shakes his head.
“Did you say something?”
“Nothing at all…”
He sighs again, like he’s given up, and continues.
“Fine, I get it. But I’ve got a condition.”
“A condition?”
My face tenses, I’m kinda scared..
Is it something bad?
“Don’t make that face. It’s not a bad condition. Listen—”
…
What he says catches me off guard.
“That’s fine by me.”
“You’re cool with it, Sof—Sofa?”
“Are you doing that on purpose?”
“Just kidding. Sofi.”
With that, I finally feel like I can be honest with him.
“Yeah, Shoma!”
“Huh? You just… my name…”
“Nishishi! Idiot!”
I grin wide, leaving him behind.
Am I smiling like I used to?
When I glance back, his face looks like he wants to say something, but his smile alone gives me strength for tomorrow.
“Thanks, Shoma.”
As I leave him in the classroom, I hear him mumble:
“Guess I’ll stop by the bookstore on the way home.”
I don’t catch his last words, but I’ve got a good feeling about them.
