The Carnivorous Maidens Living with Me - Chapter 58 & 59
Chapter 58: Overcoming a Hundred Hardships
We’re back home.
But no one’s saying a word.
Gathered in the living room, I share my past with everyone.
I’ve dodged it with vague excuses until now, so it’s a surprise that I’m opening up.
“Shoma… um…”
“Sofia, thanks for worrying. But I’m okay, I’ve made peace with it. And I’ve got plenty of happy memories too.”
“Yeah…”
My words seem to ease everyone’s tension, their faces relaxing.
Then, I recall what Nagi-san told me, lost in thought.
(Is marriage really that tough…?)
Nagi-san’s words weigh heavy, pressing down on my heart.
I must look dead serious, my expression grim.
“…”
“Sho-kun, something on your mind? Why not talk to your Onee-chans?”
“U-Um… I want to help Senpai too.”
“Of course, I’m in!”
“Shoma… I know you. You want to save them, don’t you? Mutsuki and her family.”
“!!”
Their encouraging voices—and Sofia’s final words—snap me out of it.
“Everyone… yeah… I want to save them, don’t I?”
“We all get how you feel, Shoma. Because you’re… kinder than anyone, endlessly so.”
Before I know it, they’re holding my hands.
I realize my hands are trembling.
And my body’s cold.
Thinking about Mom and Dad must’ve worn my heart down without me noticing…
“Yeah, thanks.”
Even when I’m this pathetic, there are people by my side.
I’m struck again by how strong these girls are—their hearts are so much stronger than mine.
And I resolve to do what I want to do.
“Everyone, I’ve got a favor to ask! Please help me…”
I bow right there.
“Of course, Shoma!”
Hunsu!
“It’s a battle!”
“Onee-chan will show her stuff!”
I can’t help but think—my girlfriends are the best women ever!
※
I lay out my plan to them.
It’s a bit wild, even for me, but their reactions tell me it’s not a mistake.
“…Amazing.”
“Onee-chan, your face is red!”
“How’d you come up with that?”
“Onee-chan is shocked!”
“Glad you think so. Now, how do we get Mutsuki and them to come…?”
Yayoi-san raises her hand.
“Yes, Yayoi-kun!”
“How about sending Aoi-chan and Kanade-chan an invite for a ‘tea party’?”
“Nice one, Yayoi-san!”
“Love it!”
That’s the way!
“Hm! Then the Sumeragi family will handle the outfits!”
“Please, make them normal! No naked stuff.”
“Got it!”
Leaving costumes to the pervert, what about the location?
“Senpai! I think here’s perfect!”
Hazuki’s suggestion.
“Here, huh… yeah, you’re right! Let’s do it here!”
I want this day to be special.
I want to show it to Mom, Dad, Grandpa, and Grandma in heaven.
This place might just be the best.
“Thanks, Hazuki.”
I gently pat Hazuki’s head.
Fumyu, she makes a cute sound, turning red like a boiled octopus.
Her physical resistance must be low.
I look at Sofia, her silver hair glowing, smiling gently like a saint.
My heart skips a beat.
(Wow… this is bad… I might fall for her.)
“Shoma… I love you♡.”
Her words send a warm breeze through my heart.
It’s so comforting…
And now, the real challenge begins.
Chapter 59: The Water’s Surface Sways Gently
I’ve heard marriage is supposed to be blissful.
I kinda get it. Being with someone you love, someone you cherish—it’s only natural.
But that’s when the one you love is by your side.
What if, for some reason, you’re torn apart…
And you can never see them again…
Can you still call that life happy…?
※
“Thank you all for gathering here today!”
I’m standing before a crowd, speaking.
Right now, my house is packed with the Kamizuki, Kisaragi, Shirasaki, Kujo, and Sumeragi families.
“To think my boy would come up with this… I wanna tell those guys in heaven about it.”
“You’re right, dear.”
My foster parents set aside their usual goofiness, speaking earnestly.
“Such a man! Worthy of being Sofia’s husband!”
Soichi-san and Alicia-san smile warmly.
“Leave the entertainment to me! I’ll smash a hundred tiles! Hohoho!”
“We’ll handle the cooking.”
Genkichi-san’s as lively as ever.
The women, led by Tsukimi-san, are taking care of the food.
“Thanks! By the way, are the materials for that ready?”
“Yes, everything’s set.”
“Appreciate it.”
I’d asked Tsukimi-san to handle the ingredient shopping in advance.
“I’ve arranged transport for the Kurokami family! Be grateful!”
“…No stripping today, okay?”
I nail it down with Tenma-san.
By the way, Genma-san’s driving.
“Sho-chan, the outfits are perfect! Thanks for checking in advance.”
I’d tasked Hakua-san with the costumes too.
I already told Mutsuki, Aoi, and Kanade about what I’m doing.
Their faces when I explained it? Unforgettable.
“Shoma-san, can you check the interior decorations later?”
Tokiko-san and the Kujo family are handling the venue’s decor.
The location’s the martial arts hall my grandpa used as a hobby.
It faces the garden, bright and spacious.
“Alright, let’s make that! Sofia, Hazuki, help me out.”
“Of course, darling♡!”
Hunsu! Hunsu!
They’re fired up—love it!
We bustle about, prepping food and setting up the venue as time flies.
Then, the Kurokami family arrives in the car Tenma-san arranged—a massive limo.
“W-We’re having a tea party here, right, Aoi, Kanade?”
Nagi-san steps out, looking around nervously, asking the twins.
No wonder—getting picked up by a limo out of nowhere?
“Nishishi! Yup, that’s right, Dad!”
“C’mon! Hold Mom’s hand and walk together!”
Aoi and Kanade nudge the hesitant pair.
“Uh, y-yeah, okay. You good with that, dear?”
“Y-Yeah… it’s kinda embarrassing.”
“It is… feels like it’s been a while.”
Nagi-san and Yuriko-san take each other’s hands and start walking.
Behind them, their three daughters smirk.
Then, Tokiko-san, Sayuri-san, and Yayoi-san, dressed in elegant kimonos, bow gracefully.
“Thank you for joining our tea party today. I’m Tokiko Kujo.”
Tokiko-san greets them with the poise of a high-end ryotei.
Sayuri-san and Yayoi-san follow suit.
“Th-This is so kind! Our daughters are always in your care. I’m Nagi Kurokami, and this is my wife, Yuriko.”
Nagi-san fumbles but returns the greeting.
Guided by the three, they head toward the garden’s martial arts hall.
We wait, hearts pounding.
How do I describe this tension?
I’ve met their families plenty, but this is on another level—my heart’s racing like crazy.
Jarizari, the sound of gravel crunching underfoot.
Our pulses quicken. It’s almost time.
Sofia and Hazuki grip my hands tightly beside me.
Feeling their nerves, I gently squeeze back, smiling.
(It’ll be fine! It’s gonna work!)
※
“This is the venue.”
Tokiko-san bows, gesturing toward the hall.
※
“…Huh?”
“What’s this…?”
Nagi-san and Yuriko-san freeze.
No surprise—there’s a sign at the entrance:
