Chapter 74: An Ominous Day at the Beach – Part 9
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
When Arisa dove into the sea, Seira, Miran, Chinatsu, and Anjuu watched her retreating figure with anxious expressions on their faces. Haruku had been swept far offshore by a rip current. The four girls, who doted on him, couldn’t help but worry about him.
Even Hinako had a tense look on her face as she kept her gaze fixed on Haruku.
“Sumeragi-senpai… Will she be alright…?”
Anjuu’s murmured words only deepened the group’s anxiety, but what changed that tense atmosphere was the old butler who had accompanied Arisa.
“There is no need to worry. This is Ojou-sama we’re talking about. Ojou-sama is an unparalleled force in the sea.”
His words were firm and carried a weight of unwavering trust in Arisa.
“How can you say that so confidently…?”
“Because Ojou-sama, like you all, is a beastkin… And not just any beastkin. She’s an orca beastkin. The vast ocean is like her backyard.”
“An orca, huh…”
“That explains why she was so scary back then…”
At Seira’s murmured reflection, Miran remembered something.
“Come to think of it…”
When they had gotten into a dispute with some classmates, it was Arisa who had stepped in to stop it. Even Seira, a snow leopard beastkin, had been visibly intimidated by Arisa’s overwhelming pressure. It was one thing to be afraid of other carnivores for Miran, who was a reptilian beastkin, but Seira… Seira was a fellow mammal. She must’ve sensed the intimidation aura from Arisa far more vividly.
“Besides, Ojou-sama said, ‘I’ll go help him.’ If she said that, she would absolutely make it happen. We should place our trust in her and for now, let’s inform the lifeguard of the situation.”
Leaving those words behind, the old butler walked off. His absolute faith in Arisa was unmistakable. And to prove that faith—
“Ah… It looks like Senpai has reached Arisugawa-kun.”
“Wait?! She already reached him…?”
Hinako’s report stunned everyone. Barely thirty seconds had passed since Arisa dove into the ocean. She had swum at an unbelievable speed.
“Arisugawa-kun looks a bit relieved too.”
“You can see the expression of someone hundreds of meters away? You’re amazing…”
“I am a harpy eagle, after all… Ah.”
“What? What happened?”
“Umm… We’ve got a very wholesome youth-romance moment happening. Is it okay if I describe the situation to you all?”
“Wait, what? What do you mean?”
“Don’t tell me something happened to Haruku-kun…”
“Mmm… They’re hugging. The two of them.”
““““EH!?””””
Hinako found herself more taken aback by the four girls’ reactions than the danger on Haruku’s chastity. Realizing that, she decided to report exactly what she saw.
“Arisa-senpai pulled him close and—like this—squished him right into her chest. He looks kind of happy.”
““““……””””
Hinako continued the play-by-play while the four girls stood frozen. Miran even looked down at her own chest, eyes slightly teary.
“Well, anyway, thank goodness he’s safe, right? They’ll be back soon.”
Seeing the two begin to make their way back, Hinako offered those words. Still, while they were indeed relieved that Haruku was safe… That didn’t mean the rest of what happened there could be easily overlooked by them. All four girls shared that same sentiment in their hearts.

“Sorry for making everyone worry!”
Thanks to Sumeragi-senpai, I’d safely made it back to the beach. The first thing I had to do was apologize—so I bowed my head immediately to them.
“We were worried, but it wasn’t your fault, Haru.”
“Yeah, it was a force of nature after all…”
“In fact, it’s kind of scary that even a beastkin like Onii was rendered helpless in that situation…”
“Haruku-senpai! I’m just glad you’re safe and sound…”
“Welcome back, Arisugawa-kun.”
“Yeah… I was really scared. I don’t know what would’ve happened to me if Sumeragi-senpai hadn’t been there…”
“No, no. I do have to say, you handled it well, Arisugawa-kun. Not trying to swim back and conserving your energy was the right call.”
“Thanks for saying that, Sumeragi-senpai…”
“Well! Putting that aside, Haru.”
“Hey… Haruku-kun, how did it feel to be hugged by Senpai?”
“Wha—!?”
Seira’s words made me flinch hard. Looking closer, Seira, Miran, Chinatsu…And even Anjuu were all giving me predator-like stares. It was honestly terrifying. All of them were downright terrifying.
“I mean, how do you even know about that—”
“Does it matter? The important part is that despite having us, you’re still making moves on a new girl.”
“No, no?! I wasn’t making any moves!?”
“Hahaha! I, for one, didn’t mind it all that much though~ ♪”
““““Wha—!?””””
“Wait! Please don’t say weird things, Sumeragi-senpai!”
“So you were enjoying it after all!”
“Haruku-senpai, are you cheating on us!?”
“Onii, do you want me to mark you again?”
“I think it’s better if we hear your explanation in great detail, so why don’t you come with us to the tent?”
“Wait—hold on—!”
But before I could say anything, Chinatsu and Seira each grabbed one of my arms and started dragging me to the tent with startling strength.
Wait, is this happening again…!? Damn it, they’re strong! I just survived a life-threatening situation, and now I’m experiencing a whole different kind of crisis…!
“Hmm… Looks like along with the survival instinct, his reproductive instinct also kicked in.”
“Well… All according to plan, I guess.”
I reached out a hand, desperate for help. However, Sumeragi-senpai and Sagisawa-san only smiled and waved me off with a smile on their faces.
