- Chapter 22: Student Council Maid Café, Saori-san Version
“Welcome back, Master ♡.”
After school, when I opened the door to the student council room, a warm voice greeted my ears. I froze at the entrance when I saw a classical maid dressed in a black gothic dress with a white apron welcoming me.
“Our class is doing a maid café for the school festival, right? The costumes are ready now, so I thought I’d give you a little preview ♡.”
The one explaining was Saori-san. She was the only one in the room. She slightly lifted the hem of her skirt and bowed to me.
“Saori-san…”
“Does it suit me ♡ ?”
“Yes, you look wonderful.”
Saori-san gave me a smile as soft as a wildflower, clearly pleased with my answer. My heart skipped a beat at her expression.
“Your expression just changed. Do you feel like being pampered by your onee-san?”
“Well… it would be a lie to say I didn’t…”
“It’s fine. No one else is here right now. You can lean on me.”
She spread her arms wide, inviting me in her embrace, her voice sweet as she teased me:
“Mitsuya-kun, you’re a naughty boy.”
“Saori… onee-san…”
“Naughty boys like you need to be punished on their onee-san’s tummy.”
“On Saori-onee-san’s tummy…”
Though I knew I shouldn’t, I was drawn in, step by step… Before I realized it, I had knelt down and buried my face against her stomach.
Saori-san wrapped her arms around my head as I pressed my face to her stomach. I thought that Shino would be coming soon… but time passed on, and I couldn’t pull away. And sure enough, when Shino walked in, I let out a muffled groan against Saori-san’s stomach.
“What are you doing?”
Shino didn’t look surprised to see us embracing, but her voice was icy cold.
“So. What exactly are you doing? This is starting to look like the same thing that happened with Lilia the other day. Don’t you think this pattern is getting old?”
When I looked up at her, her eyes were filled with quiet contempt and burning anger. She fixed her gaze on me, not moving a muscle, crushing me with her presence. I wondered how to explain myself to Shino, who made no attempt to hide her jealousy.
“Uh… should onee-san explain?”
“What do you mean, ‘onee-san’?”
“That’s…”
“It’s a secret. Right, Mitsuya-kun ♡ ?”
Saori-san cut in without the slightest hint of fluster. In fact, her calm expression showed that she was prepared to face Shino’s intimidation head-on.
“Shino-san, you’re not Mitsuya-kun’s girlfriend, are you?”
“That’s right. At the moment, I’m not his girlfriend.”
“Then I think it’s wrong for you to bind him. Even if you have a physical relationship, if you don’t recognize each other as partners, isn’t it nothing more than a fleeting connection?”
“You’ve got some nerve, saying that with such a gentle face. But the decision is up to Mitsuya and me, not you.”
“That may be so. But are you saying Mitsuya-kun will let himself be bound by you and refuse to spend time with me?”
Her arrow suddenly turned on me. However, I had been thinking the same thing myself.
Shino’s jealousy made me happy. It meant that I was more than just her stress relief. It was proof that she had some real attachment to me. The vague relationship we had now was comfortable in its own way, and admittedly convenient.
But if things went on like this, problems would start cropping up everywhere, including with Saori-san. Maybe it was time to define our relationship properly. With that thought, I turned to face Shino.
“I like you, Shino. And I love your body too. Especially your breasts.”
“That’s what you’re going with?”
“I’m being honest. And while I don’t dislike the way things are now, I want a proper girlfriend.”
“I understand what you’re saying, Mitsuya.”
“So I want to be with you. I want us to be a real couple.”
“A couple…”
Shino fell silent, her face clearly showing she was wrestling with something inside. Saori-san, who had been listening quietly, cut in.
“Shino-san, you’re not the only one who cares about Mitsuya-kun. You may be the model honor student, but I think you can be selfish too. If you won’t answer him, then I’ll take him from you.”
“I won’t allow that.”
At last, Shino revealed a glimpse of her true feelings.
“Then make him your boyfriend properly. If that’s what you both want, I’ll step back without complaint. But if you don’t care about him that much, then I won’t hold back.”
Saori-san’s firm words left Shino in silence again.
“Why… won’t you answer?”
“…”
“I’ll take him then.”
“That’s not allowed.”
“Why not?”
Just as Saori-san asked the question, Lilia entered the room. She looked blankly at the tense scene, but without a care for the mood, she walked straight toward me.
“Mitsuya-senpai ♡.”
Lilia’s face was already flushed, her eyes sparkling with hearts.
“Ever since you… ‘disciplined’ me, I haven’t been able to get you out of my head…”
“…”
Just as I was regretting that I’d gone too far with Lilia, she suddenly clung to me.
“Mitsuya-senpai ♡. Please spank me again ♡. I don’t care about the money anymore ♡.”
“…Looks like we’ve been interrupted. Let’s call it a day.”
Shino cut in firmly.
“In any case, Mitsuya is my contract partner. Neither of you should lay a hand on him.”
She declared that, then spun on her heel and left the room as if running away.
“Yes, I suppose we should end it here for today.”
Saori-san began packing up to go home.
“Mitsuya-senpai ♡.”
“And now there’s you…”
“My butt’s tingling… But I really don’t care much about money anymore. I even stopped gambling. I’ve decided to start saving properly, for our future together ♡.”
“I see…”
Lilia’s words brought me a small sense of relief, but I still didn’t understand the reason behind Shino’s reaction.
I was sure Shino had feelings for me that went beyond the contractual relationship, yet she wouldn’t give me an answer. There must’ve been something holding her back.
With that answer still out of reach, our day ended just like that.
