The Boy Who Gave Up on Romantic Feelings ~I’m Done Because I Was Betrayed by The Girlfriends I Used to Date~ - Chapter 31-32
Chapter 31
Third Person POV
Yasuhiro Otsuki is feeling anxious, he can’t sleep at night and he always worries about the future. It’s all because of his son, Akito. At first, Yasuhiro thought that the rumours would resolve itself quickly. However, now that he lost his job, his son’s presence is becoming increasingly burdensome.
Yasuhiro was too stunned that he did nothing for about a week after he was fired from his company. But now, he starts to search for a new job.
However, what stands in his way is of course the rumour about his son.
At this point, he finally learned why his son refuses to go to school and shut himself in his room all day long.
He is more than aware of the rumour surrounding his son. They have already spread throughout their neighbourhood, making it impossible for him to find employment nearby. Even part-time jobs are out of the question.
Furthermore, he doesn’t know how this got leaked, but the actions he had done in the company such as harassing and abusing subordinates, got leaked out, causing even more trouble for him to find a job. Faced with the consequences of his own actions, Yasuhiro don’t even have the energy to be angry at his son.
And just when Yasuhiro is searching for a new job, he faces another tragedy.
When he gets home after a long day of searching employment, Yasuhiro’s wife, Mitsuko, is nowhere to be found.
Mitsuko, Yasuhiro’s wife, is known as a good person in the neighbourhood. She is well-liked to the extent that one would doubt whether she truly belongs to the Otsuki family. Thanks to her, the reputation of the Otsuki family has somehow maintained.
However, even Mitsuko seems unable to handle the situation. To be precise, she was only following the advice of her friends to leave her family, but Yasuhiro and his son are unaware of this.
“Mitsuko!!! Damn it!!!”
When Yasuhiro wakes up the next morning, he finds a letter and divorce papers on the desk. Upon confirming them, he immediately tries to contact her…however, the call doesn’t reach her.
Yasuhiro also tried to contact her family, but all he got was a simple ‘I don’t know’.
“Damn it!!! She ran away!!! She left me!!!”
Yasuhiro went mad, going around the house smashing things. He doesn’t have the mental strength to endure all of this.
After a while, Yasuhito finally calms down.
When Akito found out that his mother left them, he went mad in the same way as his father did.
Afterwards, they decided use what little money they have to move to a different town.
There, Akito started to attend a new high school but soon became a shut in, while Yasuhiro struggled to find a job and managed to get by with debt and part-time work.
One day, amid this kind of life, some people visited their house.
The intercom rings.
“Excuse me.”
“Yes.”
Since Yasuhiro happens to be at home, he goes to the front door and opens it.
“…eh?”
“Are you Otsuki-san? There’s no mistake, right? There is an arrest warrant out for Akito Otsuki-san. Please accompany him to the station.”
“…yes.”
Yasuhiro can only tremble in fear upon hearing those words.
Chapter 32
Let me tell you how it went.
I filed a police report as soon as I got the call from Karen. I also provided some photos as evidence, so it should be accepted, I guess. According to the police officer, they will issue an arrest warrant after checking the surveillance cameras in the area.
I heard from Karen who continued to follow him just to be sure, that Yasumoto has been going in and out of Shinozaki’s house as if nothing happened, and every time Yasumoto goes to Shinozaki’s house, she can hear Shinozaki moaning in pleasure. What are they, monkeys?
Then a week later, Yasumoto is referred to the prosecutor’s office and arrested shortly thereafter. Yasumoto is in his third year of high school and has just finished taking entrance exam. Apparently, he has received several acceptance letters from universities, all of which went down the drain due to this incident.
Furthermore, it turns out that the reason why Shinozaki stopped going to school is actually because of that photo karen showed me, the photo of her and Yasumoto having sex, is spread. Because of that Shinozaki’s reputation within the school worsened even more. She has really taken a big fall compared to before.
Because of this incident, Shinozaki and her friends all stopped going to school. Sayama, who confessed to me out of nowhere, also stopped going to school.
“I never thought things would turn out like this after Yasumoto got arrested.”
Kotaro said so.
“That’s right.”
“He brought it on himself, really. He got what he deserved.”
Our class is on the verge of a breakdown. Many students are refusing to go to school, the atmosphere feels gloomy in the classroom, it just feels really uncomfortable.
“Yasumoto is arrested, Mikami has disappeared, so that means you are the only one left, Motomura.”
“Yeah, that’s right, and I’m planning to betray Shinozaki.”
Today, besides me and Kotaro, Motomura is also here with us. With Shinozaki stopped going to school, Motomura can finally make his move freely.
“Within the next few days, you should be contacted by her. Ignore it.”
“Yeah.”
“Then, she will try to contact Shintani as well…that’s what Karen predicted up to this point.”
“Well, she will probably come crawling back and force you to get back together out of desperation. I’ve been observing her up close recently…she really can’t think straight at all.”
“What do you mean?”
“It means she’s even more foolish than we thought.”
“…is that so? Ah…”
“What’s wrong, Shintani?”
“It’s so insignificant that I forgot about it, but her grades were terrible. I just remembered how she used to come crying to me about it.”
“…uwaa.”
“Perhaps she would’ve self-destructed without us having to come up with a plan like this…”
“I highly doubt that. What caused all this is that photo and that infamous video.”
“That’s right. It’s just that her actions afterwards are stupid.”
“Hey, Kotaro, Shintani…don’t run away from this.”
“Eh…what do you mean?”
“If you run away from all of this, my role as a spy won’t be rewarded. I went through hell myself, you know? I’ve always hated that person. It would be meaningless if what I’ve done doesn’t have any significance.”
“…you must be sick of all of this.”
“Stop it…it’s though, but I guess there’s no choice.”
As both me and Kotaro look into Motomura’s eyes, which seem to have lost their light, we spend our break time.
How is this only halfway through it, like already reaching the end of this novel?
