- The Beautiful Senpai from the Archery Club Is Sleeping in My Room with Her Stomach Exposed.
- Chapter 13: The So-Called Meeting Part.
The So-Called Meeting Part.
I write the title on the whiteboard with a squeaky sound.
The first meeting of the “Let’s Lighten Watanuki Rino’s Burden Conference” is about to begin.
When I finish writing and turn around, the sole participant raises her hand while sitting in a hugging-knees position.
“Yes. I have a question.”
“Go ahead, Watanuki-senpai.”
“That whiteboard wasn’t in this room last week, was it? Where did you get it?”
Senpai lowers her arm and tilts her head slightly, still sitting in the same position. It seems she’s gotten used to visiting the Amemoto household for the third time, appearing more at ease.
Well, it’s not bad if she’s relaxing. But her skirt guard is a bit loose. If I accidentally see her underwear, my credibility as a junior will plummet, so I’d appreciate it if she were more cautious. I swear I won’t mess around.
I turn back to the whiteboard and say,
“This board is from Mei’s room. She has a habit of collecting things she rarely uses, saying, ‘I might need it someday.’ I regularly organize her stuff.”
“Ohh, Mei-san’s room sounds amazing, with masks and handcuffs. Maybe I should ask her to let me in sometime.”
“…Let’s stop being interested in Mei’s room for now. Please focus on mine.”
“Oops, sorry for bringing up another room. Hehe, are you jealous?”
“I-I’m not jealous. There’s no reason to be. My room is more comfortable anyway…”
“Ahaha, so you are jealous. Well, I do think your room is more comfortable. Last week, I had quite the firsthand experience.”
Senpai strokes the green carpet laid on the floor.
Then, she shifts from her hugging-knees position to sitting with her legs folded under her. Now that she’s keeping her legs together, there’s no risk of any accidental exposure. I let out a relieved cough and say,
“…It’s great that you’re relaxing, but we’re here for a strategy meeting. Please stay focused, at least during this time.”
“Hmm, fair enough. Then, Amemoto-kun, let’s hear your solutions.”
Whoa, she suddenly switched gears. Her ability to shift moods so quickly is incredible, but I can’t keep up emotionally…
No, no, it’s fine. Let’s get to the main topic. I’m taking up Senpai’s valuable club break time as it is.
“Uh… So, after observing your daily routine closely, I found a few areas where we can immediately reduce your burden. Let’s start from there.”
“That’s where we’re starting? I was expecting something like ‘tips to reduce study time.’”
Yes, her main concern is that she spends too much time on her studies, leading to late nights, which in turn affects her daily life with fatigue.
But after closely watching her routine, I realized that studying isn’t the only thing draining her energy.
She’s unnecessarily burdening herself in various ways. So…
“We’ll tackle things step by step. Small improvements will add up to big results.”
I turn back to the whiteboard and write.
The first point is this:
[1] Stop carrying your bow to and from school!
“I asked Ushihara, and he said most of the club members leave their bows at the dojo. You should do the same.”
“Wha…!? Wait, Amemoto-kun, carrying my own bow helps reinforce my self-identity as a archery club member!”
“You don’t need any more reinforcement, Senpai. You already shine so brightly it’s blinding.”
“…It also helps promote the archery club.”
“Not many people join the archery club in the fall.”
“…And it’s a workout. Carrying it to school is like morning training! That’s my real reason! What do you think?”
She looks so smug, as if she’s just revealed a trump card. But that’s not an ace—it’s a dud.
“That’s the worst reason. You shouldn’t be carrying heavy equipment daily just for that. It’s enough to bring it home before long breaks.”
I looked it up, and archery bows weigh around 10 kilograms. There’s no reason to lug something that heavy back and forth when you’re already exhausted from practice.
“I worry that one day you’ll collapse while commuting. Please, let’s reduce this risk.”
“Ugh… Alright, I’ll leave it at the dojo… I’ll listen to you.”
Senpai sighs in defeat and nods slightly. That’s one unnecessary burden off her shoulders. Good. Now, next…
“Here’s the next one.”
[2] Eat a proper lunch!
“Two salted bread rolls aren’t enough, even if you have a small appetite. You need more energy to keep up with schoolwork.”
“Hmm… But if I eat too much, I might gain weight.”
A great example of self-discipline, but I must be firm here.
“A little weight fluctuation is no big deal. You have a model-like figure—eating more won’t ruin your charm. Please eat properly!”
“Umm-o-okay… I’ll eat more at lunch… No need to be so intense about it…”
Senpai nods hesitantly and hugs a cushion, pressing her face against it. Sorry, I got a bit too passionate there.
“And the last point is this.”
[3] Do something about morning runs!
“A-Amemoto-kun!? But running is healthy!”
“Running 10 kilometers on a sleep-deprived body isn’t healthy.”
“…I have no counterargument!”
Indeed, her high stamina probably comes from her daily aerobic exercise. However, with her current schedule, it’s doing more harm than good.
“But I’ve been doing it for years. If I don’t run, I feel uneasy, and my body wakes up automatically…”
“I’m not saying to quit completely. Just adjust—skip runs on nights you study late, or reduce the distance.”
Honestly, I’m impressed she’s kept it up. I remember when I was training to go pro in FPS, I practiced aiming for an hour every morning, no matter how tired I was. The fear of missing practice is real.
“So, what do you think? Can you try these three things?”
“…Alright, I’ll give them a shot. Since you took the time to come up with these ideas, I’ll put them into practice and report back later.”
Senpai looks confident and determined. If this were the final match of a tournament, I might have teared up at her reliability.
But this isn’t a competition—it’s “Let’s Lighten Watanuki Rino’s Burden Conference.” And somehow, I don’t feel reassured at all…
“Well… that concludes our meeting. So, Amemoto-kun, what’s next? Will I get the same hospitality as last Friday?”
“Uh, the special relaxation course is limited to once a week, so… you can either go home or relax here.”
“Since I’m under contract, I think I’ll relax here.”
She pulls out an English textbook from her bag and starts reading it while humming, seated properly.
Is this what she meant by relaxing?
…I have a bad feeling. Will she really follow through with what we discussed today?
