The Beautiful Girl Who Asked Me to Pretend to Be Her Boyfriend Didn’t Want to Break up With Me for Some Reason - Chapter 13
“Action, romance, horror, and sci-fi… it’s a tough decision. What do you want to watch, Hakuto?”
After we stopped by a convenience store on our way back from the super public bath, we decided to watch a movie, just as Shirafuji had requested.
As usual, I sat with Shirafuji in my arms, resting my back on the cushion while she fiddled with the TV, connected to a subscription-based movie service, mumbling to herself.
I often get invited by Shirafuji to watch movies together. Because of that, I’ve ended up watching not only popular films but also some classic ones.
“…Anything but romance.”
“Why exclude romance?”
“It’s boring, and I almost fall asleep.”
Well, that’s a lie. The real reason is that it feels awkward watching romance films with Shirafuji. I remember once, while watching a foreign film, there was a sex scene… The atmosphere was so tense, it was the worst level of uncomfortable. Shirafuji’s face turned red too, so I think romance isn’t the best genre for us to watch together.
“Then, let’s do horror. I’ll cling to you, so I don’t think you’ll be able to sleep.”
“Don’t pick it if you’re bad at horror…”
Shirafuji isn’t good with horror. She’s bad with both horror films and supernatural or prank-style thrillers. But despite that, she often chooses horror when we watch movies.
She says, “I’m bad at horror, but I think the experience of fear is fun,” and since she’s scared to watch it alone, she watches with me.
…But please, could you not cling to me while watching it? I mean, it’s more like she’s choking me than clinging to me… Her softness pressing against me is overwhelming, and it’s hard to handle.
However, it seems I have no right to refuse, as Shirafuji’s chosen horror movie started playing.
From the opening, where a few people, including a university student, visit an abandoned village for a test of courage, I figured this would be an occult-themed horror. It’s the kind of story where they get involved in various supernatural events, which is pretty typical.
So, I roughly knew when to expect the jumpscares—
“Why are you already clinging to me so soon after it started?”
“If I suddenly cling to you, it’ll be dangerous.”
Shirafuji was already clinging to me like a koala, only her face facing the TV. She was holding a box of chocolates she bought at the convenience store we stopped at.
I had asked if eating something sweet at this time was a good idea, but she responded, “If you don’t enjoy yourself when you can, what’s the point?” so I didn’t say anything further.
Considering Shirafuji was managing her figure even with that rough lifestyle, maybe it was none of my business.
‘G-Guy, let’s leave! This village is definitely messed up!!’
A young man frantically shouted. As he turned around—he found a woman with long hair, standing still, her head tilted down.
The woman slowly lifted her face.
Her hair moved aside, revealing a huge vertical gash on her face. The gash widened horizontally, and with yellowed, jagged teeth and clear saliva, she moved toward the stunned young man. She bit his head clean off in one swift motion, and his lifeless body fell.
“——!!”
At that moment, Shirafuji, who had been clinging to me, stiffened, gasping. Her grip tightened, and I could feel her fingers clearly on my back.
It must have been really scary for her today, because her face was now buried in my chest. Normally, she keeps her face away from the screen, but this was a different kind of horror.
At first, I thought it was just an occult horror movie, but it turned out to be an occult horror with a lot of gore. Shirafuji isn’t good with gory films.
Normally, she avoids those types, but I guess since it’s a sleepover, she overlooked it.
I gently patted her back to calm her down.
“Shirafuji, want to watch something else?”
I paused the movie and asked. Shirafuji lifted her face, and I suddenly felt something was off.
Her usually pale face was now unusually red. It had been a while since we got back from the bath, and she was perfectly normal when we came home.
At first, I thought she was just embarrassed, but her eyes seemed a little glazed over.
Shirafuji continued staring at me blankly.
“….Hakuto, I was so scared, so please hug me.”
Her voice was sweet and almost pleading. The soft whisper, almost like it was melting my mind, made it hard to breathe.
Though Shirafuji loves to be spoiled, I’d never seen her like this before. I thought she might be tired from going out or maybe the sleepover had her a bit too excited, but I also noticed a faint scent… a slight hint of alcohol.
I hesitated for a moment but then, seeing Shirafuji looking at me with anxious eyes, I pulled her closer. Happily, she wrapped her arms around me.
Trying to avoid looking at the situation, I reached for the item I was looking for.
It was the box of chocolates Shirafuji had been eating during the movie. I checked the package, and sure enough, it mentioned it contained alcohol.
“…No way. Just this little bit and you get this drunk?”
I had eaten it before and felt fine, though I didn’t care for the taste.
The alcohol content was minimal, but it seemed Shirafuji had gotten truly drunk from it.
“Hakuto… you’re so warm…”
Shirafuji snuggled into my chest, and I could feel something stirring within me. I was already at my limit, with my affection for her growing every day, and now the protective instincts were being triggered.
It was dangerous. If this continued, I couldn’t guarantee I’d stay in control.
I couldn’t let Shirafuji be like this in front of others. Even a small amount of alcohol was dangerous for her.
“Hakuto… I love you this much… why aren’t you doing anything?”
Shirafuji’s drunken whisper made me stop. This was just the rambling of a drunk person. There was no guarantee it was true.
…I wish I could just think that way.
But I found myself hoping, wishing it was true.
“Is it because I’m just a fake girlfriend? It doesn’t matter. If I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t be doing this.”
She pressed her hips against me, grinding into me as she clung to me.
Her soft, sensual body made it impossible to stay composed.
This was really bad.
If she kept doing this, I’d lose control.
But I had to stop it. I couldn’t allow it to go any further.
“Hakuto… you’re definitely… definitely mine.”
She murmured those words and hugged me tighter, as though confirming my existence.
I couldn’t see her face because it was buried in my chest, but that might have been for the best.
Because my face was probably in a terrible state.
The fire of my instincts slowly faded.
In its place, I felt a warm, gentle sensation.
My heartbeat seemed louder than usual. It was so loud I worried I’d wake Shirafuji up.
To calm myself, I patted Shirafuji’s back, and soon, I heard her peaceful breathing.
“…Good night, Shirafuji.”
I decided to keep this to myself and laid the now fast-asleep Shirafuji down on the futon in the bedroom.

This was healthy, so I didn’t, for example, feed her chocolate by mouth or anything. I was tempted, but I held back. I didn’t want to experience something like that for the first time in such a way.

Ah, the classic cliché of getting falling down drunk from chocolate liqueurs. 😉
Taking a wild stab at her not remembering anything in the morning..😚
