Legal Dreamer.
Hello, good afternoon.
It’s Mikami Hina here. So, we have a bit of a problem on our hands.
I just slipped into Kirishima-san’s bed for a bit, planning to leave after a short cuddle… but now I’m caught and can’t get away. And no, I’m not accepting any logical arguments about whether this is actually a “bit” of a cuddle. Please, someone save me.
“Mm…”
I’m completely being used as a body pillow. Not that the hold is that tight, but every time I try to slip away, his arms tighten, making it impossible to escape.
And to top it off, this is Kirishima-san’s bed, meaning I’m on his turf. Just being held is nerve-wracking enough, but in his bed and under his covers… It’s like I’m completely surrounded by Kirishima-san.
Every breath I take, I can smell him, and I feel my body going all limp and melty. I need to take deep breaths—just to keep my wits together. Breathe in, breathe in, breathe…
Actually… maybe staying like this wouldn’t be so bad. Being held in his arms, wrapped up in his scent… Yeah, I’ll make this my new home. From now on, I’ll come back here and be greeted with a “Welcome home.”
(No, no, no, that’s way too much!)
Nope, that’s a hard pass. I can’t take it; my heart can’t handle this. It’s already pounding so hard I’m about to lose it.
If this goes on, I might not make it out alive. I need to get out of here while I still have some life left, or I’m going to shrivel up from the heat and nerves. I can’t let Kirishima-san become an accidental killer—I have to escape somehow.
“Mm… quite strong, aren’t you…”
I try pushing against his chest, trying to pry his arms open, but he doesn’t budge. I always thought Kirishima-san had a slender build, but he’s actually much stronger than I expected.
His chest is quite solid, very masculine, and his arms are way more muscular than they look… but this isn’t the time to analyze that. The longer I stay in this blissful space, the weaker my resolve to escape becomes.
Once you wander in, there’s no going back… Is that it? Kirishima-san… you’re a sly one.
Anyway, enough with the excuses… what am I supposed to do?
Honestly, if I could just fall asleep here, that’d be the easiest way out, but I already took a short nap earlier, so I’m wide awake.
In fact, closing my eyes only makes me more aware of being held, his warmth, his scent—it’s like a potent drug. The fact that it’s legal makes it scarier.
“Eh, ah…”
As I keep up my feeble attempts to resist, his arms pull me in even tighter. We’re completely pressed together now.
He’s mumbling something in his sleep, but I can’t pay attention to that right now.
If he keeps holding me so tightly… I might melt into a puddle. I wish he were this assertive all the time… or maybe not.
But right now, I’m just… too caught off guard for this.
Please, someone, help me. Just once more.
***
I feel like I was having a really nice dream.
I can’t remember exactly what it was about, but the vague sense that it was pleasant tells me it must’ve been a pretty happy one.
The time is… two o’clock, huh. I woke up sooner than I thought.
Mikami-san seems to think I’ve got a cold or fever of some sort… but unfortunately for her, I’m in perfect health. So, I suppose this was just a well-timed afternoon nap.
It might seem a little rude to sleep while I have a guest over, but Mikami-san has slept at least twice as much as me, so I don’t think she’d mind.
“…Mikami-san isn’t here?”
She said she’d take care of me, but I guess she can’t stick around the entire time. Not that I’m sick enough to need constant care anyway. Actually, that nap felt like the perfect break, and I feel great now.
It’s probably Mikami-san who left this for me.
I reach for the sports drink bottle on the table and take a sip, refreshing my throat. I have to admit, the way she’s taken care of all these little details for me is pretty impressive.
“…Oh, you’re awake?”
“Oh, thanks to you.”
Mikami-san returns with a damp towel in hand.
Looks like she went to get this for me, though… her voice sounds a little off.
“Is your voice… weird?”
“Huh?! N-no, nothing’s wrong.”
“Really? It seems like your face is a little red too…”
“Well, um… I might’ve caught your cold, Kirishima-san.”
There’s definitely something odd going on with Mikami-san. Her face is flushed, and her voice is off. When I look at her worriedly, she averts her eyes, and she’s glancing around nervously.
And… how did she catch my cold, exactly? I did feel really warm at that moment, but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t actually sick.
“A… cold?”
“…Yes, I’m certain I caught it from you, Kirishima-san.”
“…Really?”
“Of course!”
As I give her a skeptical look, Mikami-san’s behavior grows even stranger. It’s painfully clear she’s trying to cover something up, but with her acting so suspiciously, I have no idea how to respond.
“Should I at least take your temperature?”
“Oh, um, that’s… no need—really!”
I’m doubtful that she caught anything from me, but if there’s even a chance she’s sick, I figure it wouldn’t hurt for her to check her temperature. Just as I suggest it, though, Mikami-san bolts out of my room in a fluster.
A few moments later, there’s a lot of thumping sounds, a couple of muffled yelps, and then, once things calm down, I hear her shout from afar, “Thank you for having me over! Take care, Kirishima-san!”
I hear the front door close too. So, she really did leave. Quite the energetic “sick” person.
“Well… huh?”
As I consider going back to sleep, I pull up the blanket and catch a faint but familiar scent.
It’s not mine. But I recognize it—a pleasant fragrance that isn’t usually in my room.
And there’s more. Under the blanket, I find a single, long hair that’s clearly not mine.
“Mikami-san… you’ve really done it this time. Or… maybe, without realizing it, I did something myself?”
The evidence left behind, her hasty exit, and that dream I vaguely remember feeling nice…
Everything suddenly clicks into place.
