Chapter 69: The Abandoned Prince Says Something Kinda Awful
A few more days passed.
Laputa—no, Agardramoon—had officially taken on the role of a floating sky nation.
After smoothly gliding over to the designated oceanic region, construction began on a massive drill meant to mine resources from beneath the sea floor.
Thankfully, the seabed wasn’t too deep, so the operation itself wasn’t expected to be too difficult.
That said, the sheer volume of materials needed was enormous,
So the entire project was projected to take anywhere from three months to half a year.
And sure, there was always the possibility of a hostile nation coming after us…
But of course, Alcarion already had countermeasures in place. Classic.
Speaking of Alcarion—
“Dear, may I have a moment of your time?”
“…You know, I don’t even flinch anymore when you drop out of the ceiling like that.”
“D-Don’t get used to that! Seriously, Reyshel—can’t you just use the door like a normal person, Mother?”
I had been sipping tea with Rosemary when Alcarion entered the room.
Not through the door, obviously.
She popped open a ceiling panel and peeked down from the shadows above like some secret agent.
She pulls this kind of stunt so often lately, I don’t even bat an eye anymore.
Alcarion landed soundlessly on the floor with her usual grace.
But despite the absurd entrance, her expression this time was oddly serious.
“Alcarion, is something bothering you?”
“…I wouldn’t exactly call it a concern.”
“Whatever it is, just say the word. If it’s something you need, I’ll do my best.”
“Then I’ll get straight to the point.”
With her usual deadpan expression, Alcarion calmly dropped a bomb—like it was the most normal thing in the world.
“I’d like you to head over to the beastkin nation for a bit.”
“Okay!!—Wait, no!! How is that something you just casually say!? What even!?”
She said it like she was asking me to grab snacks from the store or something.
That is not the kind of request you can just drop with a straight face!
Look, I am glad you trust me enough to rely on me—and sure, I did say I’d help however I could…
But this was way beyond what I was expecting!!
Seeing how badly I was struggling to wrap my head around it, Rosemary stepped in to get a clearer picture.
“P-Please start from the beginning, Mother.”
“A situation has come up. Apparently, the sea region we chose for extraction belongs to another country.”
“Wait, a country? But I thought this area was just…”
“Yes. There are a number of small islands scattered around here, but we assumed none of them were governed by any particular nation.”
“That’s what we thought too. But it turns out we were mistaken. Seems the beastkin living on those islands have recently come together to form a proper country.”
“Huh. No kidding.”
Well, if that really just happened recently, then it’s no wonder we hadn’t heard anything.
So yeah…
We kind of wandered straight into their territorial waters.
“A little while ago, their coastal patrol made contact. They’re demanding a formal apology for trespassing… and some kind of compensation.”
“An apology’s fair, I guess… but compensation? Don’t tell me…”
“Yes. Their ruler said, ‘Bring me the most charming man in your nation.’ And well, to me, no man is more charming than you, my dear.”
Hearing that from Alcarion honestly made me a little happy.
“…But why would they even make that kind of demand?”
“From what I could gather, their ruler is a woman who calls herself the Celestial Empress… And apparently, she has quite the fondness for young boys.”
“…Mother. You’re not seriously…”
“Yes, Rosemary?”
Alcarion tilted her head innocently, but Rosemary shot her a look filled with suspicion.
Alcarion quickly averted her gaze.
“Are you seriously trying to twist their request… and send Reyshel over there to seduce this so-called empress?”
“…”
“And you’re hoping that’ll smooth over the whole trespassing issue, aren’t you?”
“…”
“Don’t look away—look me in the eye, Mother!! I can’t believe this! Offering Reyshel up for political convenience—how could you!?”
“You’ve got it all wrong, Rosemary. At least let your mother finish explaining.”
Rosemary’s voice rose in disbelief.
Alcarion, still keeping her usual blank expression but clearly flustered, scrambled to justify herself.
And so began a fiery back-and-forth…
With neither side willing to give an inch.
“I swear, I never intended to use Reyshel. But right now, there’s no other way to resolve this situation—”
“Even so—!”
While Rosemary and Alcarion kept going at it, I quietly zoned out, lost in thought.
Let’s be real here:
Most of the time, I’m not exactly doing anything important.
I eat good food, sleep in a comfy bed, and spend my days spreading the legs of cute girls.
That’s basically my life.
Aside from occasionally stopping by the clinic to heal a few injured folks… yeah, I’m not exactly pulling my weight.
Which is why—just once in a while—I’d like to be useful.
But honestly…
I don’t really have the confidence to “charm” some powerful ruler who calls herself the Celestial Empress or whatever.
Still, for now, I knew exactly what I could do—
“Hyahn ♡!!”
I reached around and gave Rosemary’s boobs a firm squeeze from behind, catching her completely off guard.
Still as soft and heavenly as ever. Truly a national treasure.
“W-What are you doing, Reyshel!! We’re in the middle of a serious conversation!!”
“Well, I didn’t want to just stand here and watch you two argue.”
“We… w-we weren’t exactly arguing…”
Realizing it herself, Rosemary awkwardly glanced between me and Alcarion, her voice faltering.
“And besides, I’m kinda happy, y’know? Alcarion usually handles everything herself. So when she actually asks me for help, it really means something.”
“Mmgh…”
“From what I’ve heard, it’s not like they’re taking me as a hostage or anything. Sounds more like they’re inviting me over as a guest of honor. I doubt anything bad’ll happen.”
“B-But still… I worry about you. And for the baby’s sake too…”
I gently placed my hand on Rosemary’s belly—where a new life was quietly growing inside her.
It had been about a month since we found out she was pregnant.
To be honest, the idea of being away from Rosemary while she was carrying our child made me anxious.
Not seeing her every day… yeah, that was going to be rough.
“So I’ll just charm the empress real quick, fix this whole mess, and hurry back home!!”
“…Honestly, I swear. Of all the men in the world, you might be the only one who could proudly announce he’s going to seduce another woman for the sake of his wife and unborn child.”
“I mean… yeah, okay, that did sound kinda awful.”
“Pfft… hahahaha.”
Rosemary let out a helpless laugh, like what am I supposed to do with you?, then softly rubbed her belly.
“If you even think about forgetting me or this baby—I won’t forgive you. I’ll make you regret it.”
“Not gonna happen, but… what kind of punishment are we talking about?”
“I’ll wreck you so bad you’ll never forget again.”
“Oof. That’s… not exactly reassuring, y’know.”
“…And if you don’t forget, I’ll wreck you even more—in all the best ways ♡”
She whispered that last part right into my ear.
And just like that, thanks to my expertly timed boob-squeeze intervention, the tension between Rosemary and Alcarion had completely vanished.
Then Alcarion smoothly picked the conversation back up.
“Still, we can’t risk anything happening to you, Dear. So I’ve arranged for a bodyguard—an old friend of mine, and someone very capable. Come on in.”
“‘Come on in,’ she says… Wait, whoa!?”
At Alcarion’s signal, someone dropped down from the ceiling—
And it was a face I definitely recognized.
Long silver hair that flowed all the way down to her waist.
Half-lidded crimson eyes, like she could barely be bothered to open them.
And a face so flawless, it was almost unsettling—like a living doll.
And that body? Total bombshell.
Massive boobs, a perfectly slim waist, thick, curvy thighs, a generous butt, and long, toned legs that just kept going.
“Ms. Kuura… right?”
She was the leader of the Arachne we ran into on the way back from the other continent.
Despite being an Arachne boss, her lower half isn’t spider-like—just regular human legs.
Though, with her eight eyes, she still definitely gave off strong spider vibes.
“Wait, Ms. Kuura is your friend, Alcarion?”
“…Not a friend. Just an old acquaintance.”
“I’m her friend.”
“…Fine. Let’s go with that.”
She tried to keep it cool with the “just acquaintances” routine,
But Alcarion’s word clearly had more weight.
And seeing as she made the exact same ceiling entrance just now, they were obviously pretty close.
Once things had settled and the plan was in place, Alcarion turned back to me.
Her expression hadn’t changed—still unreadable as ever…
But there was a weight in her eyes that said more than words.
“Dear. I—”
“Don’t worry, I’m not bothered.”
“…I haven’t even said anything yet.”
“C’mon, it’s obvious. You’re probably feeling guilty—thinking you used me or whatever, right? But I spend most of my days doing absolutely nothing, so let me be useful once in a while. And hey, if the Celestial Empress turns out to be hot, then honestly, it’s kind of a win for me.”
“…I really can’t compete with you, Dear. That said—may I ask for one more thing?”
“Hm? What’s—”
Grab.
Alcarion suddenly grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me into a tight hug.
Before I could react, my face was completely buried in her massive chest.
“You’ve become even more precious to me, Dear. I won’t let you sleep tonight.”
“H-Hey!! Mother, that’s not fair!! No sneaking in ahead of me!!”
“Rosemary, you’re pregnant. You shouldn’t be doing anything too strenuous. Be a good girl and let Mother take care of him tonight.”
“I-I can still handle it if it’s gentle!! Oh! Reyshel!! Didn’t you say you wanted to try it from behind sometime!? Tonight’s the night!!”
And so began another chaotic night, with a beautiful mother and daughter fighting over me—
While Kuura silently slipped out of the room, clearly uninterested in any of it.
A few days later, I set off for the beastkin nation.
