Chapter 47: The Abandoned Prince Teleports
A few hours had passed since we left the capital.
I was now at a fortress under attack from rebel nobles, having arrived with Rosemary and the Wyvern Knight Squadron.
While Rosemary was inside holding a strategy meeting with the fortress commander, I—who’s not exactly helpful with that kind of stuff—was busy treating the wounded.
Apparently, the commander had decided not to launch a counterattack until Rosemary’s unit arrived.
Thankfully, that decision paid off.
They had opted for a defensive siege strategy, and it worked—there weren’t many injured soldiers.
Still, being under siege takes a toll on the mind, and even light injuries can wear people down.
As I went around healing them, I got showered with gratitude.
Being appreciated like that… it really does feel nice. Yep.
Now, while Rosemary was still in the meeting, I was waiting near the runway with Salion—currently in her child-sized “loli mode.”
“Fyaaah… What a pain. Wouldn’t it be faster if I just cleaned up the mess myself?”
Salion yawned as she spoke.
I was a little curious, so I asked how she planned to handle it.
“Hmm? Easy. Just release a cloud of poison over the entire battlefield.”
“That’s straight-up mass murder. You’d wipe out friend and foe alike.”
“Well, anyone who dies from the poison is just weak.”
I had no idea how strong Salion’s poison was, but knowing her… she’d probably be too lazy to fine-tune it and just go all-out.
Sure, I could probably neutralize it using Perfect Regeneration the whole time…
But the soldiers? They’d be wiped out for sure.
And if that happened, Rosemary wouldn’t just be mad—she’d explode.
“You can’t do that. You’ll be labeled an evil dragon on the spot.”
“Muu. You’re starting to sound just like Rosemary, boy.”
No, I’m pretty sure anyone would say the same thing, not just Rosemary.
“Hey, boy.”
“Hm?”
“I’m bored. Let’s fool around.”
“N-Not now. We’re inside a fortress. The enemy could attack at any moment.”
“You say that… but you’re already hard, aren’t you~♡”
“Ugh—”
Salion said that while gently stroking my beloved blade.
Damn it.
Truth is, I did want to use this spare time to have a little fun.
Wait… do I even need to hold back?
Sure, this was technically a battlefield—but we were inside a well-fortified base, not out in the open.
As long as it’s safe, there’s no reason not to…
With that logic in mind, I pulled Salion into a room nearby and we went at it.
Her body was smaller than mine, which made her easier to hold. That helped a lot.
Usually, it’s Rosemary or Alcarion pinning me down, so the only ones I can really take the lead with are Nayuta and Salion.
And sometimes… I want to be the one doing the teasing, too.
“Good grief… you really let it all out ♡ Did it feel good, fooling around with me?”
“…Yeah.”
Lately, Salion had been getting more and more used to sex—and lately, she’d been the one draining me completely dry.
When we first met, she was such a weak little brat… and now she’s this confident? How rude.
And right then—
Rosemary walked into the room with a serious look on her face.
“I could hear everything. The sounds. The moaning. Even your voices, Reyshel.”
“Eh? Ah—sorry.”
“No, that’s not what I came here for. There’s something more important.”
Apparently, the walls here were thinner than I thought, and all our noises had leaked right out.
But judging by Rosemary’s expression, that wasn’t the real issue.
“Did something happen?”
“The commander of this fortress—Count Negael… it seems he’s sided with the rebels.”
“What?”
“I didn’t want to believe it either. But… I just knew.”
She knew?
I tilted my head, confused by her wording, but Salion gave a small nod.
“Hm. So it’s awakened at last. There were signs before, but it looks like Rosemary’s finally awakened her ‘Dragon’s Eye’.”
“Wait—that’s the same thing you and Alcarion have, right?”
“Indeed. I thought it would still be years before it awakened, since Rosemary’s still quite young… but it seems I was wrong.”
So that meant Rosemary had sensed Count Negael’s betrayal using the Dragon’s Eye power.
“I was able to see Count Negael and a few soldiers secretly communicating with the rebels… but that’s all. I don’t have any solid proof.”
“You’re way too proper, Rosemary. You don’t need proof. What your Dragon’s Eye shows you is the truth. That alone is more than enough to arrest this Negael fellow. Let’s go.”
“Huh? W-Wait, Grandmother!? Where are you going!?”
“I’m going to beat the truth out of that Negael and make him spill everything about the rebellion. Interrogation happens to be one of my specialties, you know. Kufufu~”
…Come to think of it, she did put me through hell when we first met.
While I was thinking back to that traumatic experience, Salion had already stormed off toward the meeting room to catch Count Negael.
Rosemary and I quickly followed behind her.
The moment Salion reached the meeting room, she flung the door open without hesitation and immediately sprayed Count Negael with a paralyzing poison.
“W-What…!? M-My body won’t move!? W-Who is this brat!? P-Princess Rosemary!! Help me!! This little girl—she did something to—”
“Silence. You haven’t even lived a hundred years, you little punk.”
With that, Salion kicked Count Negael square in the face.
Oof. That looked painful.
“And who’s this little one over here? Why are you in this room?”
“Eh? Ah—I-I’m just a maid! I serve Count Negael!!”
Salion turned her attention to a maid standing quietly in the corner of the room.
She was a silver-haired beauty with a short haircut—not too different from my own hair color.
Wearing a short-skirt maid uniform, she looked about the same age as Nayuta… but her chest was way bigger.
So Count Negael was hiring busty maids now, huh?
Then again, I was walking around the academy with Maidrion, so I guess I can’t talk.
…Still, something about that girl felt oddly familiar. Like I’d seen her somewhere before.
“…Hey, girl. Have we met somewhere before?”
“Huh, Salion? You too? I was just thinking the same thing. She kinda looks familiar.”
“!? N-No, this is our first time meeting!!”
The maid girl quickly responded, clearly flustered.
“…Hmm?”
“Salion?”
Salion stared at the girl in silence, her golden eyes starting to glow.
She was using the Dragon’s Eye.
But then something strange happened—Salion, who’s usually unshakable outside of bed, looked visibly rattled.
“—!? I can’t see anything!? Who are you, girl!?”
“…!”
The moment Salion said she couldn’t see anything, the maid reacted.
“Tch… If I’ve been found out, so be it! I’ll kill you!! Reyshel!! I’ll kill you… with my own hands!!”
“Huh? Me!?”
The maid girl suddenly came at me, filled with murderous intent.
She moved so fast that even Rosemary and Salion couldn’t react in time.
From under her skirt, she pulled something—about the size of a small stone—from a leather strap wrapped around her thigh, and threw it straight at me.
The object hit me and lit up with a blinding light.
“Ha-haha!! I did it!! Now you’ll die alone at the end of the world!! All alone!! Hahahahahaha!!”
Yeah, sure. It did hit me.
But what she didn’t expect was that the thing would bounce back.
The shining object struck me, then immediately ricocheted off—and touched her too.
The moment it made contact with both of us, the scenery around us shifted in an instant.
Just seconds ago, I was standing in the fortress meeting room.
Now—I was in a wide, empty wasteland that stretched to the ends of the horizon.
Rosemary and Salion were nowhere in sight.
Only two people had been brought here—me, who got hit by the mysterious object… and the maid girl who got caught in it too.
“Hahahaha!! —Wait, huh?”
“Whoa!? Where the heck is this!?”
The girl stopped laughing and suddenly broke into a cold sweat.
Looks like even she hadn’t planned for this to happen.
So she’s the clumsy type, huh?
Kinda cute, actually.
