Chapter 38: The Abandoned Prince Enjoys the Maidrion
The trouble started the day after I tamed the slime.
I was carrying Lime—my adorable slime companion who had become an expert at wiggling around like a tentacled champion in our nightly “fun”—as I walked through the school corridors, moving between classes.
That’s when I noticed a commotion up ahead.
A crowd of students was gathered in the hallway, clearly arguing about something.
And right in the middle of it all… was Nayuta, looking completely flustered.
If she was involved, then I couldn’t just ignore it.
I pushed through the crowd and made my way toward the center of the commotion.
“What’s going on here?”
“Ah, Reyshe—Rei. Looks like they’re trying to pick a fight with me.”
“What fight!? Filthy Kingdom rat!!”
The guy standing across from Nayuta wasn’t from our class.
He was from the neighboring class—the one filled with anti-Kingdom types.
“You’re the one who snuck into our classroom and destroyed her stuff, aren’t you!?”
He held up a ruined textbook and some broken writing tools as “evidence.”
Nayuta let out a tired sigh and replied with a hint of exasperation.
“I’ve already told you—like, multiple times—it wasn’t me! I have no reason to do that, and I don’t have the time for it either.”
“Silence!! We have proof! A student from our class saw you!!”
“Maybe your classmate just saw wrong? Also, if they saw it happening, why didn’t they stop it?”
“You shameless liar!!”
“…And yeah, this is what I’ve been dealing with.”
Nayuta looked over at me, clearly fed up.
Yep. This was classic baseless blame.
And nothing is shakier than a “witness” conveniently provided by the accusing party.
The guy making the accusations was probably from a high-ranking noble family in the Empire, which explained why our classmates didn’t want to get involved.
Still, judging from their faces, they all seemed to be thinking the same thing I was: “What is this guy even talking about?”
Trying to reason with them wasn’t going to work either—
They were too fired up to listen.
So I leaned in close and whispered to Nayuta, offering a solution that could turn this whole thing around.
“Wanna call Violetta?”
Time to call in the academy’s top authority—the chairwoman herself.
If I asked her, she could probably declare the other side guilty on the spot, even without solid proof.
Though let’s be real—she’d probably find some proof later anyway.
Violetta would do anything to help me, no questions asked.
And with her on our side, Nayuta’s name would be cleared in no time.
That’s Big Sis Violetta for you.
But surprisingly, Nayuta didn’t seem too keen on relying on that kind of power.
“Eh, I mean… Ms. Violetta’s probably busy. I’d feel bad calling her over just for this.”
“But if we don’t, this is never gonna end, you know?”
They’d already made up their minds—pinning the blame on Nayuta with no room for discussion.
And frankly, I was getting more than a little annoyed.
To shut this down peacefully, having Violetta step in was clearly the best option.
And just as I was thinking that—
“Oh my, everyone. What’s going on over here?”
“Who goes there!? We’re in the middle of dealing with this filthy Kingdom girl and—W-Wait, Chairwoman!?”
We didn’t even have to go get her—Violetta descended on the scene herself.
But instead of her, my eyes drifted to the girl standing quietly behind her.
She was cute.
Really cute.
She had soft, snow-white hair trimmed to her shoulders and shimmering golden eyes.
Oddly enough, she was wearing a maid outfit.
She could’ve easily passed as Violetta’s personal attendant…
But something about her felt familiar.
Huh? …Wait. No way… right?
“Please listen, Chairwoman!! This filthy Kingdom girl—!!”
“Oh my… those torn-up textbooks and broken supplies…”
“She’s the one who did it! We even have a witness!”
Violetta glanced my way and gave me a small, subtle wink that no one else noticed.
That was her way of saying, leave it to me.
“My, how troublesome. But if that’s the case, then you should report it properly—to the proper place, and the proper people.”
“But we saw her doing it! We have a witness—!”
“Even so. Publicly accusing someone like this only creates irreversible rifts. As nobles, you understand how dangerous those rifts can be, don’t you?”
“T-That’s…”
“Besides, we’ve received similar reports from upperclassmen as well.”
“T-Then she must’ve done those too!!”
“Unlikely. To enter the upperclassmen’s building, you’d need to deactivate a complex magical barrier. That’s not something a first-year could pull off.”
…Well, okay, maybe.
If we’re being honest, Nayuta’s [Great Sage] skill probably could break through that kind of barrier without much trouble.
Still, I doubted she’d actually bother doing that.
“This matter will be properly investigated by the academy. Now then—everyone, back to class. Your next lesson is about to begin.”
“““““Yeees~”””””
The students quickly scattered, heading back toward their classrooms.
The guy from the other class, the one who kept insisting Nayuta was the culprit, gave us one last death glare full of barely hidden hostility.
Nayuta bowed politely to Violetta.
“Thank you very much, Ms. Violetta.”
“Fufu, no need to thank me… You’re just too cute♡”
“Eh? Uh… t-thank you?”
“…Ahem.”
For a moment there, Violetta gave Nayuta a look that could only be described as predatory.
Did she… like any cute girl regardless of who they were?
“Ah—but right. Rey, I actually wanted to speak with you. Will you come with me?”
“Sure.”
And just like that, I said goodbye to Nayuta and followed Violetta toward the chairwoman’s office.
That’s when I decided to speak up.
Not to Violetta—
But to the girl walking right behind her like an attendant.
“…What are you doing, Alcarion?”
“Oh my, you figured it out?”
…Yep. I knew it.
The girl in the maid outfit was none other than Alcarion.
But seriously… what was with that outfit?
“This is just a clone body—basically, a temporary vessel. My real body is still at the palace handling government affairs. At the moment, I was trying to divert a massive budget toward building a floating city using all of the Empire’s best technology… The idea was to create a sky castle where I could live with you and our daughters, but the plan got exposed and now Rosemary and Olga are scolding me.”
…What were you doing?
Seriously, Alcarion—what kind of wild plans were you making!?
“I-I see. But, uh… why are you here, then?”
“…Because ever since you started attending the academy, we haven’t been able to do as much intimate bonding.”
“Really? I thought we were going at it every night until morning.”
“Not enough.”
“O-Oh… I see. Sorry about that.”
“No need to apologize. I’m not upset. I just thought… maybe I could enjoy some school-life romance while doing indecent things with you at the same time.”
…Wow. That was a lot of desire packed into one sentence.
“Still, why the maid outfit? Doesn’t really scream school-life romance to me.”
“At this academy, it’s not unusual for high-ranking nobles to bring personal maids or attendants with them. I figured it would be the perfect setup for some secret, forbidden service-play between student and maid.”
Even in this clone body, she still had that completely calm, emotionless expression…
But something about her felt more unrestrained than usual.
After that, I ended up being lovingly spoiled by Maid Alcarion—also known as Maidrion.
Eventually, Violetta couldn’t take it anymore and jumped in.
And that’s how I got thoroughly pampered by both mother and daughter.
But just as we were wrapping up, Violetta dropped a bit of a bombshell.
“Oh, by the way—starting today, you’ll be staying in the girls’ dorm, Rey.”
“…Eh?”
Wait—
What does that even mean?
